Having been going thru some of your older lessons recently, I was struck by how much they've changed over time. They're all great lessons, but your personality, sense of humor, joy in playing and happiness really shine through now!
As we Americans approach Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for having Justin as my guitar teacher. Thank you so much!!
Agreed!
"he's effing every c7 i've got" hahah love your adlib lyrics bro, thanks for this
you're so great. For the holidays this year, I'm giving myself a gift of a hundred US dollar donation to you through paypal, and for all you've helped me, you deserve more.
lol you didnt even get a replyxD

@@JoshNulty most youtubers donât really give a willy about their fans, youâre just numbers and likes on their videos. Youâre the customers at Starbucks to the Starbucks corporation, donât give em anything they make enough through ads and other silly fools who give their hard earned cash away.
@@sosig8332 You're an idiot. You don't know how long these videos take to make. Ad revenue isn't what it used to be. The amount of depth in Justin's lessons considering they're free is outstanding. GuitarTricks offers the same thing but you have to pay $20 a month!
@@Mattmaster776 does it hurt your feelings at the fact that they see you as a pay check? Sorry if that offends you but itâs true
I just learned and played the whole song in one hour, thats motivating! Thank you so much for your lessons and showing us how to rock!
I especially love how you explain all the Rhytm patterns, Great Job, i will keep on learning :)
This is a pretty darn high quality recording! Sounds great! Greating singing and guitar sounds awesome!
Just played it in 1.5 speed. Sounds cool, totally intelligible too :D
Brilliant as ever, 18 thumbs down WTF?!! Some muppets clearly don't know what a guitar is!
im sure they were like "this is song is soo hard to play!" (thumbs down)
not bad. i was blessed to see the Kinks in a small club in Philly, 1967
wow you are a total legend
lucky:(
I love how you say most people are gonna âhave funâ with the chords. Those dm and a variations are a pain. Stay positive! Great song, and excellent lesson.
This is great Justin, the master teacher. One respectful suggestion for anyone learning this, in the chorus if you substitute the regular D7 for a Bar chord at the 10th and the G7 for a bar at the 3rd, they give you that great 'vampy' sound, especially if you keep lifting off and on, that Justin was talking about. It's better than the substitution in the video in my humble opinion. You don't have to awkwardly mute any strings and you get a fuller sound. Another happy bonus with barring at the 10th and 3rd is it's the same chord shape so you can switch easily (which makes me think this is what is in the recording). And to get to the 10th from the verse you can do a simple three note run down low E string (fifth, seventh and ninth fret) which takes you down the dusty end nicely.
I like : "I've got a C7 mama trying to break F". It is just very usefull!
You are a great teacher, but i bet you know that.
We tell him often! :) He is one of the best!
Yes, he knows his stuff.9
You are fantastic in how you show how to play this. I got the basics down in a little over an hour and with practice hope to get close to good. Thank you so much.
Great lesson as usual, nice and laid back and not too muso. Music first and foremost should be fun and I think Justin strikes the right balance between explaining the song and enjoying it at the same time.
Justin we love you!
I appreciate your amazing work, Sei un grande, Grazie!
That's a great one. My kids love it too, they all sing as loud as possible for the "big fat momma" line.
Had to come here to comment - I watched this video last week and it has made me very happy to learn. God save the Kinks and your videos.
Clearly explained as usual and what a fun song to play on the guitar! Great work Justin.
I remember the long hot SoCal summer this song was on the radio. Perfect beach song surfin' all day and lazin' on the beach in those sunny summer afternoons.
Ray Davies has nothing on you bud. đ Great tuition. Lovely song to learn.
Nothing a pub garden full of boomers like more is a millenial like me playing one of their favourites. đ
Came back to this after seeing it a year ago to learn for a gig. We're playing it gypsy style. Great lesson - very clear.
Thank you Justin for this wonderful version, particularly highlighting playing the rhythm. Your lessons are always illuminating. Cheers
Thank you Justin for all your lessons and for sharing your knowledge with us all. I wish you the best.
Good on you Justin ! such a great song and you teach it so well !
Thank you so much for this! I love the kinks and when I got my guitar I couldn't wait to learn some of true songs, this video is so helpful! I am finding it difficult but I will get it in the endđ€đ»
Excellent lesson and superb playing. I always loved this song and thought it was very clever but the lesson shows just how clever the kinks were. This was a time when great songs were around but most followed a fairly basic chord and blues background. Great innovation from the Kinks. Now just gotta try and play it something like this !
Classic song Justin, Thanks for you effort.
Thanks mate ! Makes things easy
Justin u are amazing I've been playing along time but if need to brush up on a song I forgot I simply check u out to freshen up and 10 out of 10 u have it right alot of so called music teacher on internet dont no how to play correctly.there are only a handful I like for rock, pop ect I go to you thanks buddy for yer videos â€đ
Thanks Justin, this a great tutorial. I'm a moderately experienced guitarist and I found it super useful, and it seems like one that would be really helpful to people who are at a more beginner level as well.
And I like your style of presenting, which is pretty much just straight out explanation of the content, but manages to be pretty entertaining to watch.
Has this song gave anyone else FITS?! I've been at it on and off for a few days and I think I finally have it but I still need to get it more fluid sounding. Also this is the only lesson that comes within a 100 miles of being correct. Thanks Justin, you're a saint!
You are a great teacher
Wow.... I tried this a year ago and couldn't get near the intro. I've just spent the last two hours at it with the rest of the song and I'm nearly there. Big thanks Justin
Thanks Justin, you have a natural quality to teach and your lessons are enjoyable,
picked my first guitar up last year at the age of 73 last ,struggling but hanging in with your help
the hardest thing for me is not the chords and chord changes but picking up up the rhythm and getting
the feel and accents of the song .sounds robotic if you know what I mean, Thanks mate !
Love the Kinks. Lola and Summertime are two of my favorites.
Un grand merci Ă toi Justin , surtout ne t'arrĂȘtes pas, de la part d'un guitariste du sud de la France.
Man your a Dynamite Teacher.... What a wicked song...
Man, I like your voice. That's gotta take you somewhere someday! Thanks for sharing your great skills with us Justin!!
Thank you for going over the rhythms too, really helpful!
What a tune!
I like the way you give the lesson. Just the right amount of explaining for someone who can already play some guitar. I've been playing the song for years, but I sing it in Am and haven't been able to do the full runs. (I'd need a baritone guitar with a low B string.) So guitar-wise, it seems that it's just gotta be in Dm to be fully correct, so I guess that with my lower voice I'm going to be stuck with not quite right guitarwork. Cheers.
Thank you very much for a great lesson Jason could never nail this one but your lesson has given me at least a couple more chords to go in it ( which I always left out) so once again many thanks.
Brilliant cover Justin and lesson
one of the best instructors I've seen in in 50 years. I,ve been banging on this that long. koo Doos. Just pay atttention.
