Lawrence Brownlee, Michael Spyres - Rossini: Otello: "Ah vieni, nel tuo sangue vendicherò le offese"

- "We are definitely friends," says Michael Spyres of his "duelling tenor" partner Lawrence Brownlee. "Though I must admit that, when singing Otello, I have not come across a mightier foe!" They explore this and other Rossini operas in their album Amici e Rivali: w.lnk.to/aerLY
The album - the title of which translates to "Friends and Rivals" - is recorded with Corrado Rovaris and I Virtuosi Italiani. Its program brings together arias, duets, and trios from seven of the composer’s operas, written between 1815 and 1826: the most famous comic opera of them all, Il barbiere di Siviglia, and six serious dramatic works: Otello, Armida, La donna del lago, Elisabetta, regina d'Inghilterra, Le Siège de Corinthe, and, the rarest title here, Ricciardo e Zoraide.
"Any rivalry is just sportsmanship and theatrics," Lawrence Brownlee assures. "Beyond enjoying our musical performances, audiences at our concerts have praised the way we create a positive and supportive atmosphere on stage."

Classical Singing will always remain one of the most noble of art forms.
Fantastic Work!
With that special add some exceptional generation brings. Like this one. For sure.
Both together, a sort of miracle, a gift of heaven❤️🔥🌺🔥
I have no words, I can only hear It over and over!!
Lawrence Browlee and Michael Spyres give a wonderful performance here. The brilliance and clarity that Brownlee brings is complemented wonderfully by the rich resonance that Spyres brings to this piece.
In an age where deplorable singing gets ovations at La Scala etc along come these two incredible singers, Brownlee and Spyers, who confirm that the art of opera singing is not yet completely dead - outstanding!
I agree, i follow Spyres from 2010, i understood who great he was and Brownlee too
This is a blessing to my ears.
These two are unreal. This has to be a dream!
Both are great singers, shoud be amaizing to hear these pair in a live performance, althoug we have this great recording. Thanks!!!
Questi cantanti sono meravigliosi. Tante grazie per questo tesoro. Bravissimi!
I heard Brownlee today at Staatsopera and he was outstanding😊
Diese Musik gibt mir immer wieder die Kraft aus dem Liebeskummer zu kommen.
That descending scale Spyres does at 3:25 would make Callas proud!
Such skill, industry and integrity from all here
Truly memorable, wonderful performance!
Absolutely beautiful ! very good duo tank you
03:25 Spyres the marvelous baritenor vocal unicorn!
Only ignorance can declare that the golden age of singing is lost to us.
OMG.This is amazing !
bravi , magic duet ! Love CD "Amici e Rivali"
Spectacular
Absolutely outstanding!
Stunning and mesmerizing. Their voices go together like a fine wine and aged cheese. Not since Bjorling and Merrill’s Pearl Fishers Duet have two voices blended so beautifully, imho. True technical masters of their instrument.
Brilliant
A firework 💞
Absolutely marvelous.
Utterly impressive!
Wonderful
Bravo
Deux belles voix !
Merci de ce merveilleux cadeau de Noël
Fantastico
Potente y varonil voz !!!
I was taken aback and love the non-transition to the weird passage at 4.14. Pity Rossini retired too early
Lindo, magnífico ❤❤❤❤❤
Fucking Amazing!!!!
Magnificent 💎💎💎💎💎
[Rodrigo]
Ah! vieni, nel tuo sangue
vendicherò le offese;
Se un vano amor t’accese,
distruggerlo saprò.
[Otello]
Or or vedrai qual chiudo
giusto furor nel seno;
Sì, vendicarmi appieno
di lei, di te dovrò.
[Rodrigo e Otello]
Qual gioia! ) All’armi!
( Il traditor già parmi
veder trafitto al suol. )
Cadrai trafitto al suol!
Verdi - Ah! vieni, nel tuo sangue (Otello)

브라보 !! 로렌스 브라운리 훌륭해요 고음이 정말 깨끗해요.......!
why are they both on a telephone while singing?
Holding a hand to your ear helps you to better hear yourself. Lol
Tiene algo del gran Carusso el moreno
Spyres shorts trousers with his big butt in is hilarious. Both sing vdfy well.
No final note🤔🤔🤔😥😥😥
I'm just reacting like a girl who saw unicorns flying. Well, it doesn't look elegantly fitting but I'm just happy watching these videos.
I feel that Michael Spyres wants to be a baritone ;)
90% sure that’s what he is. He sounds so much more comfortable in that area. Have your heard his low A? I just find it insane how flexible his voice is.
@@boundary2580 He recently had a bass low C2, where a typical low a is only an A2. Absolutely ASTOUNDING how a man who can sing seamlessly modally up to a high tenor D5 also has a casual, easy, shameless Bass low D2 is beyond me. If there ever was a Tenor Assoluto, its him.
@@dyllpickle8890 Well, typical tenor low is NOT 'only an A2'. The typical tenor REPERTOIRE goes down to A2. Most tenors will be able to go significantly lower - not many just like to utilise or work on that part of their range. Chriss Merritt was another tenor (lyric tenor) who had a low F and performed it. Caruso was said to have a low D but he never obviously recorded it.
@@KajiVocals very true. love your chanel btw. updated David Phelps high notes time? starting from G4? or is that a pipe dream
@@KajiVocals I agree many tenors can sing down to A or below, I don’t agree the operatic tenor repertoire typically goes to there, it very rarely goes below a C.
Otello trying to fit in by making the white power sign.
Ok che non bisogna indossare giacca e cravatta in studio, ma almeno abbinare i colori...
Worse than a tenor... 2 tenors 😱... wonderful singing though!!
Pessimo, nasale, col belato, noioso...
Vulgar screaming to impress ignorant ears.
@@celibidache1000 and the coloratura is completely fucked.
Horne had some nasality and her coloratura was a bit gargled but at least her notes were cristal clear and her intonation over all. Have you heard Di Donato s live singing? She is completely off pitch! Since when is being off pitch acceptable?
@@Tkimba2 Fucked indeed. A lot of rapid, hit-or-miss, tone center free, ha-ha-ha:ing, so nasal I'm just waiting for his nasal cavities to explode.
For me, DiDonato is the biggest mystery of today. With all other modern opera singers I can understand what is appealing to the ignorant ears of the masses. But DiDonato..? Her singing is just ugly and strange. Her bottom register is woofy, the middle sounds like Kermit, and her top register is just a leaky, screechy, pitchy mess (not seldom too high intonation, as if she has no control whatsoever).
@@celibidache1000 have you heard her live?
@@Tkimba2 No, I've never heard him live.
