    As a die hard leafs fan, there's no shot I would ever go see a game in Scotiabank arena. They've legit priced out all the fans that show they care, so all the visible and audible seats get filled by suits or the platinum seat ghosts. I've been lucky enough to see them play in Buffalo and Ottawa, but would never even consider paying that much money to be that far from the ice. Looking forward to seeing real fans in Maple Leaf Square a couple of weeks from now. Go Leafs Go! (from the comfort and affordability of home)

    I think the main reason it was so expensive for a ticket was because it was their home stadium

    I'm a Blues fan and have lived in Toronto for 2 years now - finally going to my first game at Scotia on Feb 13th when my Blues take on the Leafs. Felt a bit sick paying for my ticket in the nosebleeds but figured if I'm gonna go to my first game, what better game to choose than when they play my Blues! Can't wait :D

    As a Blackhawks fan that lives in a non NHL state I think going to a Leafs game would be an experience. Its a historic team franchise so why not. The ticket prices are jacked up just because the front office is a bit too proud of said history.

    Great video! I'd love to see the Leafs at Scotiabank, but if that was the case I'd be travelling from scotland and it'd be a once in a lifetime thing. So I'd pay for tickets in that case. I've just bought tickets to see them play in Sweden for the Global series in November. That worked out about the equivalent of 700 Canadian dollars for two tickets. Again. I'm going to Sweden for the week so it's also a holiday whilst I'm there. First time in Sweden and first time seeing the Leafs too. So I'm super excited.

    My partner and I went to a Leafs game last year and it was the most underwhelming and expensive thing in the world. I am a die hard Leafs fan, like my entire family is and has been since birth, and I was so excited to be going to my first Leafs game. My partner is from Scotland and also loves the Leafs so for her it was really special as we were coming from Scotland to see it (we both live in Scotland but were visiting my family in Canada so saw it while we were there). We paid close to $400 for tickets that were one row from the VERY back of the Scotiabank Centre and the visibility was awful, there was no atmosphere and we ended up leaving a few minutes before the end of the game as the Leafs were down (surprise surprise) and it had been such a disappointing experience. On top of that Matthews, my partner's favourite player, ended up being injured for a few weeks at that time so wasn't even playing. Not his fault obviously, just unfortunate and bad luck on our part.
    Meanwhile, this time while visiting family in Canada we went to two Ottawa Senators games (sister lives by Ottawa so easy), one in the lower 300s and one five rows from ice, and it was cheaper for both games than the one ticket in the back of Scotiabank for the Leafs game. Do I like the Ottawa Senators? No, I'm a Leafs fan so no, but I now appreciate that they actually make it possible for fans to afford it and it was great to see families and friends there and not just disinterested people there for clout and photos.
    I'm still a diehard Leafs fan and will always love them but I'm honestly not interested in ever going to their games in person again in Toronto.

    I used to once attend Bruins and Whalers buying tickets at arena box offices. no ticket agency upcost and fees. I do not comprehend why regulations can not just eliminate the ticket agencies ticket scalping. It's sleazy and immoral.

    Leafs ticket prices are exactly like the NFL Dallas Cowboys’ games 🤦‍♂️, for me and my 2 family members to go to the first round playoff game cost us an equivalent of $1300 CAD + $300 CAD for parking. For 400 section seats! We are like at least 200 ft up off of the ground in a stadium that fits 90,000 people! I know it’s insane, but crazily we still managed to keep the energy up with a sold out crowd chanting at a high of 130-140 DB on the first drive 😬. I guess the “fan experience” and atmosphere comes from a subjective POV, as I guess Canadian fans of sport draw the line at around $150-200 CAD per Person vs us crazy Americans are willing to empty our bank accounts just to see some of our favorite sports.

    • @phantom3841
      @phantom3841 Před 3 měsíci

      Regular season games (17 game seasons) are still not great either though, because they still end up going around $150-200 USD per person 💀 ($250-300 CAD)

    • @RobertGreeley
      @RobertGreeley  Před 3 měsíci

      The NFL and NHL are two totally different animals though. You take even the tourist aspect, I'd say on any given Sunday there are more people who travelled out of town to watch the Cowboys play live than people who travelled for a Toronto playoff game! All of those things play into how much you can charge to

    I had always wanted to watch a leafs game with my dad but the one time we had tickets back in the 90's a snowstorm shut down the highways into Toronto.
    Then the prices became too expensive and my dad passed away.
    I stopped watching hockey for 10 years because I was so dissapointed and felt the leafs only wanted rich fans.
    I don't see any of my younger family interested in hockey and none of the kids I teach are into hockey either. Because they have never had the chance to experience hockey. It's just too expensive.
    I see lots of kids playing soccer and basketball, I don't think the NHL realizes how much it's shooting itself in the foot by pricing its younger fan base out of the fan experience.
