It's also important to say that the air in Mount Everest is thinner than it is in any of the mountains mentioned in the video. So, if you take gravity in consideration, and how it affects the atmosphere, Everest indeed has the highest altitude, because it's the furthest you can go from gravity while still on Earth.

I've actually been to the summit of Mauna Kea (you can climb a short trail from the parking lot to get there...it was VERY windy and like, 3 degrees Celsius). One of the best views in the world, that's for sure, especially at sunset. On a clear day, you can see like, half of the whole island of Hawai'i, including Hualalai and Mauna Loa volcanoes, and even spot Maui off in the distance.
AND while I have not climbed to the top of Chimborazo (I don't have the skills or the equipment to do that technical of a climb), I did visit the mountain (and its amazing national park*) and climb up to just over 5,300 meters on its slopes...and holy crap was that hard, even taking a leisurely walk uphill at that elevation (you can actually drive to about ~5,200 meters, but I wanted to experience the effects of thin air on my body, so I climbed another 100 meters) - assuming you haven't acclimatized to that elevation (and I hadn't), every few steps you take (like, literally 5-10 steps), you have to stop and rest for 20 seconds because at that height there is just *~51% of the oxygen in the air than there is at sea level* (thus, you need to breathe twice as frequently to get the same amount of oxygen saturation in your bloodstream as you'd have at sea level breathing normally). Anyway, given that the summit of Chimborazo is 2 km further from the center of the Earth than Everest, and I was about 1 km from its summit, I was, at that point, just about a whole kilometer closer to the moon than I would've been at the summit of Everest.
So it seems that I've been both at the top of a taller mountain than Everest, AND further from the center of the Earth than the summit of Everest. Guess I need to climb Everest to complete the trifecta of "highest places you can go." But I won't...even if I had the skills, AND the money, I am no summit-bagger. I don't see climbing as a sport, I see it as a way to have interesting experiences, and thus being at the top of Everest wouldn't mean any more to me than the experience of hiking in the Himalayas, learning about local cultures and witnessing amazing wildlife. That I could get behind...but being merely able to get myself up a mountain that has become a punch line in recent meme culture - not interested. I'd rather spend the $40-50K it takes to access the summit (yes, it really is that much if you want a high chance at surviving, sometimes even more...for $25-30K, you take your chances with an unreputable company that may or may not care whether you actually make it back alive) on any number of trips to awesome places...maybe Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, or Vanuatu. Or maybe some place in Africa...I'd like to see Tanzania again (REALLY awesome country), but I'd probably prioritize Ethiopia or the Democratic Republic of Congo...places I've never been.
*Protip: VISIT ECUADOR! It's got everything...beautiful mountains (some of which are active or even erupting volcanoes), amazing beaches, mangrove swamps populated by howler monkeys, gorgeous high-altitude cloud forests which are misty and wet all the time (you might see a herd of alpaca or vicuña), and to top it all off, the AMAZON FREAKING RAINFOREST, which is one of the most spectacular places you'll ever visit (and you can organize tours which take you by boat deep into the forest, and let you hike through the incredible landscape, learning about all of the plants and animals you'll see - it's a MUST-experience place for anyone who loves those BBC nature documentaries. Everywhere you look there's a weird looking beetle or spiky arachnid...strange trees, scarlet macaws, spider monkeys...I even came within a couple feet of stepping on a deadly poisonous fer-de-lance snake...thankfully, I saw it on the trail, sunning itself, and immediately backed off several meters).
