CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Erin (Julia Roberts) shocks Theresa (Veanne Cox) and Kurt (Peter Coyote) with startling key evidence against PG&E.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Julia Roberts stars in this legal drama based on the true story of a woman who helped win the largest settlement ever paid in a direct-action lawsuit. Erin Brockovich (Roberts) is a single mother of three who, after losing a personal injury lawsuit, asks her lawyer, Ed Masry (Albert Finney), if he can help her find a job. Ed gives her work as a file clerk in his office, and she runs across some information on a little-known case filed against Pacific Gas and Electric. Erin begins digging into the particulars of the case, convinced that the facts simply don't add up, and persuades Ed to allow her to do further research; in time, she discovers a systematic cover-up of the industrial poisoning of a city's water supply, which threatens the health of the entire community. Erin Brockovich was directed by Steven Soderbergh; Julia Roberts earned a $20 million payday for her work on the film, the highest salary paid to a female film star up to that time.

"I'm really quite tired."
Delivered to perfection lol.
Man she almost gave Ed a heart attack.
Making him work that hard NOT to laugh.
😁😁
Ed pulling out the chair for her to sit is the cherry on top of a great movie moment
@@prospero4183 - Abssolutely is lol...wouldn't surprise me if that wasn't in the script and he just did it on his own.
Yeah.....after that many blow jobs in 5 days, she WOULD be exausted!!!!
Her sarcastic, snarky and almost disrespectful demeanor towards the "lawyers" makes this scene scrumptious.
Ooook, grandpa!
They deserved it for their disrespect towrds her from the beginning.
Perfect use of the word scrumptious 👍
It's brilliant.
@@melodiepeirsel5524 no, they didn't.
I love how Albert as Ed says "Completely no faith, no faith." He's trying not to crack throughout the whole scene. Brilliant.
Yeah the guy almost gave himself a stroke from trying not to crack up.
RIP Albert Finney. The joy you brought to the world will remain even though you have passed beyond.
The best is that it’s not the actor trying not to crack up, it’s the character that’s trying not to laugh, which makes the acting nothing short of incredible.
Lies again? Sexual Favors
He was as happy as anything. He knew right then and there that he just won this monstrous case. There was nothing in the world that could make that man unhappy. I could really see how different his character was at the beginning of the film versus the end. I noticed when he went door to door towards the end of the movie he was wearing his regular clothes and not a suit and tie. If Erin had said something like this at the beginning of the film he would have shaken his head in disbelief and given her hell for it. Definitely not at this time. It seemed like Erin really changed him.
trying not to? you can hear him after she sits down him laughing off camera at her 1:32
Ed's quiet laughing in the background while Erin soaks all the glory in along with the silence of the lawyers is nothing short of hysterical!
Because he knows she would never do that and has a good heart ❤️!
It is interesting with character's like Ed because he really didn't like Erin to begin with. I think Erin even said he fired her 2 or 3 times and always rehired her. It's because she was the brains of the operation. I am so glad she got paid handsomely in the end. She deserved it.
Everybody on this planet has to admit: this is one of the best movies in its genre ever!
Beun007 I fully agree with you this is one of the best movies that ever came out and I remember the first time I ever watched it all the way through. Julia Roberts fully deserved the Oscar for her role in this which is absolutely amazing.
I can’t remember how many times I watched this movie. I still want to watch 😀
Yeah its a good movie but is over 50% fake, there was no happy ending for the real Erin or the people. They got screwed and left out to dry.
@@shadowforge Source? Because everything I've read suggests otherwise...
It is an amusing movie with all this AMerican cockiness and clever remarks, yet so fake and distant from reality.
Albert Finney gentle giggle is everything here.
Godspeed Mr. Finney💐
The silence after her comments and the response of the actors was priceless. Very well done...
A perfect demonstration of the difference between people who actually have to work for a living and people who think they do.
Ed's continuous, quiet chuckle at the end was perfect!!
This is just what I love about the movie and the story. With all those people's fancy law degrees and diplomas, Erin managed to put together this case with just hard work and social skills. It's evidenced in the scene where the lawyer tries to talk with the Hinkley people but just comes off as awkward and unsympathetic. You can also see it in the two lawyers astonishment that Erin was able to get all the signatures when all she did was go out and get them. Erin Brockovich accomplished everything with just hard work and discipline.
Christopher
When you can relate to people on their terms, it makes a huge difference. And that's what Erin did with the people at Hinkley that perhaps none of the lawyers and persons involved in the case could've done. They opened up to and trusted Erin, because they felt a positive connection.
@stonem001 it doesn't take much iq to realize that you're being poisoned by your water supplier!
@stonem001 this was in California, genius
was he in et as the scientists ?😁
It’s a movie...
That black dude in the background is my spirit animal.
I like how you can see the women mentally calculating exactly what that means, meanwhile the dude is like "All riiiiiiight!"
He's the only person besides Ed and Erin with a sense of humor....
hes hot too
I know right...looks so cool
🙃😆
Possibly my second favorite scene in the movie . First would be at the end when Erin goes on a rant and then looks at her $2,000,000 bonus check.
*Do they teach beauty queens to apologize? Because you suck at it!*
We brought that water in special for you folks. Comes from a well in Hinckley.
Or the pick a name scene
@@Dracojax wait? i just watched this movie yesterday snd i forgot which scene is this haha
@@uwish5356 its when the new lawyer tells her half the info is missing such as phone number etc. Erin says pick a name eventually she does and Erin rattles of all their info
Never get tired of watching this scene. What I love about Julia Roberts's portrayal of this character is that she makes it so REAL, so defiant and passionate.
She was very close to Ed and his family. Erin was by his side when he passed!!! Love this movie so much!!! It was on Cable Dec 21,/2020 four times. Never get tired of watching it.
Aside from the cosmic delivery by the actors, the screenplay writers deserve an attaboy for the fantastic dialogue. This scene was epic!
Agreed. Brilliant acting of a brilliant screenplay. You know it's gold when you can watch it over and over and you still chuckle!
Susannah Grant, who wrote the screenplay, was nominated for Best Original Screenplay (she lost out to Cameron Crowe for Almost Famous).
I just love how she lets the silence hang. Absolutely hysterical.
Lol love how the black guy is the only one out of his colleagues just smiling wish I knew his name so I can look him up
Love his cheeky grin
A fine dude 🙂
😂😂
Just imdb him
IMDB doesn’t carry a picture of this actor, but the two likely candidates are Mike Malone and Don Snell.
The scene cracks me up...every time! Ed's quiet laugh in the background is the best!!! 😂🤣😂🤣‼
I love the look on Teresa's face when Erin "paraphrases" the document..."Yes the water IS poisonous.."....She's thunderstruck and sickened by it..
I LOVE the chemistry between ed and Erin LOL
That's my absolutely favorite scene lol... Delivered with perfection 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 poor Theresa ( her face is priceless)
Her sarcastic humor was over the top, but brutally honest and deserved.
...I'm really quite tired.
*pulls seat out*
Another golden moment!!!! I really lovex how at the end of the film, masory threw Erin's line back at her saying ' do they teach beauty queens to apologize, because you suck at it" and walks away with a bounce in his step while Erin was in complete silent agape mode for the first time.
Education is very important, no doubt! But sometimes you've gotta give COMMON SENSE a chance!
tmat04 ...common sense is an anointed authentic gift from the Gods!
@@godsqueen9437
And who are these Gods?
Common sense leads people astray when the common doesn't happen.
Reason You maybe on to something there buddy. It has recently dawned on me that there’s various versions of what is loosely labeled “Common Sense”.
And when different variations of “Common Sense” are strategically applied outside of its norms, settings, applications, etc
...Welp, “VOILAAAA”
@@godsqueen9437 In science common sense regularly proves to be inadequate if not misleading, especially when it comes to atypical cases.
I love how Ed pulls the chair out and spins it around for her to sit down! 😂
His low quiet chuckle ...love it!!!
Her level of petty gives me life! 😂😂
As it should! Strive to put someone in their deserved place the way she did in this scene!
I love Veanne Cox's acting. She plays Theresa.
Julia Roberta was simply spectacular in this role. She just makes me laugh through the whole movie.
All of them play their respective parts faultlessly. Can't resist when it appears on the list and never regret watching it again (and again)
One of my favorite movies. Pisses me off that companies can get away with murder by just paying the victims.
literally
*i'm sure when the director said "CUT" on this scene everybody laugh guarantee !.*
Cerita Dari Korea I know I would have been. They did this scene perfectly, reactions and all!
Not without a straight face cause when your holding back it is difficult LOL!!
I love how Ed looks at Erin at 1:11 thinking "No!, Are you for real?" and then at 1:14 is like "OK, I'll play along"
Love the interaction between Julia Roberts and Albert Finney, the way he smiles at her antics😂
The I'm really quite tired kills me every time lol
every person in that scene was sculpted for it. great actors, great direction, great editting.
I don't know how Albert Finney did not win the best supporting actor oscar for his performance.
I just watched this movie for the first time. I am impressed by Julia Roberts beauty and her amazing acting skills, you really believe that character.
"I'm really quite tired."
Have a seat, have a seat.
I love Ed's chuckle at the end while Theresa looks mortified... hehehe
"I'm really quite tired"!! LOL!!
Albert Finney was great in this role. Loved him in Annie, too.
A great scene because those who know her realize that she would NEVER do that ! She has a very good heart ❤️ and wants to win so badly for her clients, that she sacrificed her time with her children in order to finish the case.
I guess I just don't get why she would say that is it because she thinks they think something along those lines? I mean you can have a very good law degree and not have any people skills and that's what those lawyers don't have.
@@Sparrowcrow-qc4pp I work as a legal assistant and there is never an air of "I have the law degree you don't" attitude with any of the attorneys at my firm. The attorneys I work for know that they're able to get the work done they do because they have assistants and paralegals. They supervise their work and they gather the paperwork and documents. Erin's real talent is that she got the clients to trust her and by proxy trust Ed with their case. It's made clear even in this film that the clients are hesitant to move forward with the law suit because they've never sued anyone before, they're ignorant of all of the legal parameters and don't want their quiet life interrupted.
But this is all Hollywood. A lot of this stuff is theatrics. I'm sure she gave attitude where it was warranted but not to this extent.
@@Kaboomboo Sorry, What is a paralega? Whats the difference with an assistant?l
The look on the woman lawyers face is priceless, like she's in her saying I want to be her
Like how that one lawyer is laughing
I love how that one guy looks like he's trying to do the math in his head as if he doesn't get sarcasm
Poor Theresa, she wasn't ready 😂
Wonder how many takes it took for Julia Roberts to do this scene without laughing
Looks like Albert Finney was closest to loosing it,
I'm sure there were some laughter the first time it was delivered. I don't know much about the other actors (aside from Albert Finney) but Julia Roberts is a consummate professional.
Ed’s reaction... priceless.
LMAO, this never gets old, priceless.
The awkward moment when the one person without a degree, does your job better than you
This makes me laugh no matter how many times i see it
I dont know how they all kept it together when she made that comment. Alberto Finney was trying so hard not to just bust out laughing. You can hear him trying to keep control of his laughing.
Teresa almost broke character at 1:00. lmaoooo
Brockovich has a sense of humor.
J'adore cette séquence, Julia et Albert sont à la limite du fou-rire. Scène d'anthologie !
It would be awesome to see the outtakes from this scene...
Just seeing Ed holing himself for not bursting out in laughter is making my abbs hurt so much😂😂😂
Erin in this cracked me up so much 😂😂😂😂 Ed and guy sitting were trying not to laugh 😂😂😂
She was absolutelly brilliant on that role...
No wonder she won the Oscar.
Ya can hear mr.masry chuckling away,as Erin sits down...😂😂😂
If you listen you'll hear Ed Laughing in the background
she leaves them speechless everytime
roy hoco
Don't try that at home!
Sad the people of flint Michigan
Can’t get a sequel
Also look at Dark Waters - a case that is ongoing and horrible, and still poisoning you in many states
Agreed of course, but we do get the government that we elect! I won't make this about a political party, but some guy said government me a chance, what have you got to lose a few years ago! He did his best given that a bunch of jackals were on him even before he took office.
Water Company. Still wants a payment. Don't care if the water is yellow or any color!!!
Erin is actually working on that case
I love this part and Erin receiving her bonus because it's just so freaking awesome. I love this movie.
I love how Theresa looks like a fish, gulping for air....
Seeing all these clips is making want to watch this great movie again.
Best line ever.
I love the expression of the black dude, like saying: "My kinna girl!" PRICELESS
geraldsonofgod no he knows she is not being serious
Jaime Duncan. Thank u. Someone who actually sees THROUGH the sarcasm.
@@robyndismon394 Was that sarcasm??? No waaay!! Thank you, had it not been for you, I would never have been able to come up with that. You are so smart.👏🏻
@@geraldsonofgod Not too bright are u? My comment focused on the character in the film and his expression. Couldn't care less what u said.
@@robyndismon394 ugh!!! You don’t care what I say??? What a tragedy!! Oh noooo!!! My life is going to be so empty and purposeless without your life-saving, unrequested opinion!!!! Comemierda….
That's why Julia Roberts is one of the greatest actresses around in this era. Yay, Julia!!! 🎥🎬👍😊
Priceless! The chick with the ugly shoes is quite speechless.
This is literally one of the best scenes in the entire movie
I wonder how many times they had to shoot the scene because everybody kept laughing during it
One time I have the opportunity to see the real Erin and someone asked about this scene and in ask if she really said that and she did …the audience explode let me tell ya !
Movie was pure gold and still gives!
This was my favorite scene in this movie. I always watched this on tape and now the VCR won't play it.
I saw this in theaters with my mom when I was 12-years-old. I remember the whole theater erupting with laughter after this scene. When we walked out of the theater I remember asking my mom ,"mom what's a blowjob?" Everyone that heard stopped and turned and then immediately looked at the two of us and started laughing again. I guess it would be a great story to tell at my wedding in the future lol!!!
+Jessica Campbell Campbell depending on ur age i would tell u but if ur like 13 or younger i cant tell u
irisprincessmey you could get a DVD player and a DVD disc and watch it .
Irisprincessmey, would you rather a working VCR but the tape ran out, or a broken VCR but tapes that still work perfectly? I have the latter.
She's quite tired 😆 🤣 😂 😹
1:17 This lady was in complete disbelief she had to put her pen down. 😂🤣😂
The house came down with this scene, when I saw it at the movies...
This scene is so amazing!
I love the deep croaky laugh at the end 🤣
Omg that cracked me up. She’s hilarious 🤣
Best line of the movie
I love how Erin celebrates her triumph by being facetious and throwing back in the lawyers faces their superiority. This had been shown earlier with her two wrong feet in ugly shoes confrontation with Theresa over Erin's research. They thought they were superior to her because of their law degrees, but she was the one who ended up getting them what they needed and she wanted to rub their noses hard in that fact.
they shouldn't have cut the look at Julia's face in the end... that's the best in the scene
When Julia Roberts is on point, she's totally on point. lol.
If you've served on a jury, this is laughable.
Really, you don't need a law degree to do these things. All you need is passion.
...and knee pads
Love the fact julia was in a film with her brother Eric
It feels so good, when the little man wins. Thank goodness for the movies.
Ok ok….I’ll watch it AGAIN !….it’s in my Top Fave list 🤗. Thanks for the reminder 👍
I always loved this scene.
Great but I loved the scene before this.."Turns out I wasn't a very good employee".
They really had to thank Charles Embry fir saving the condemning documents he was told to shred, and for coming forward in a case that appeared to be going, nowhere.
She should have asked for a mint or something.
the cheque reveal at the end is the best part. great movie.
YES...GREAT SCENE !!!
Great script. Wonderful delivery and performance by a truly beautiful woman. Thanks!
I like how this movie makes it look like they won, they didn't the town is nearly empty and people barely got any compensation. The amount of fake and "fluff" they had to add to this is an insult to all the people who died and or are still suffering effects from the water contamination.
my fucking favorite scene hahahahha erin is a bad-ass boss-ass lady
