Finished the book a few weeks ago, man I loved that book. Blessed Fr Seraphim Rose is an amazing writer and a wonderful priest in Holy Orthodoxy

I'd highly recommend reading Orthodoxy and the kingdom of satan by Fr Spyridon Baily, its a great follow up of Orthodoxy and the religion of the future

I always imagine aliens coming to earth and worshiping God just as we do. The Lord is the God of the whole universe after all, so it wouldn’t be that crazy had He created other creatures

I’m reading this book as my first Orthodox book. (I’m Pentecostal searching to deeper my knowledge and experience with Jesus) What a mistake! Now I’m so confused! If I’m being doing everything wrong, then how to do it right? Any suggestions for my next book? I need to learn more ASAP!

Get in contact with an Orthodox priest (a good 1) and most of all GO TO AN ORTHODOX church. God bless. ☦️

@@AnonymousMan115 visited one and tbh it was very cold and felt like a bunch of people just going through motions. It felt very strange hearing how often mary is brought up. Not one person introduced themselves or even said hello.
Spoke with one woman and asked about how babtism works there and I couldn't believe every she said, it literally shocked me and was very sad to see someone even think this way.
She said "well, we just sprinkle some water because how would we do it inside you know... There would be a big mess having something to use indoors to babtise" and then said something like "or you have to go outside and how would we do that, would we go to the lake?" She just kept talking about how inconvenient it was almost like she knew deep down it made no sense if we are truly serious about the Lord.
I kept silent as not to accidentally offend because I wanted to say.
"Uh... Yeah, doing it indoors or going to a spot outside and being a little inconvenient is exactly what I expect. Considering what being baptized represents I don't see how it can be done without a submersion (unless of course your physically unable to and they make exceptions for that small %)
But even before that visit it has become obvious orthodoxy is incorrect. That's not to say protestantism is correct and superior, they have have issues, but orthodox seem to really make tons of wild assumptions about what is right all based off of what a human said. Why can't they just say "hey since there isn't enough actual evidence to support said belief, we will just not do x, y and z since they aren't issues that would result in going to hell and being lost.
At least with protestant they can point to the Scripture the misinterpreted and you can at least understand the logic behind it, but there is no logic behind doing something a certain way because that's how they have always done it.
I truly don't get why orthodox seem to brag so much. Ever channel they are always have this attitude of being superior simply because their mistake can be traced back further. It doesn't matter how far back you can go if you made wild assumptions with no real proof to back them up. It's very difficult to accept the reason why they do things. I see contradictions between what Jesus said and Orthodox beliefs.
It doesn't really matter though. I've seen so many people across denominations have the same experiences getting blasted with God's love. If we believe what Jesus has said then it is truly very simple. Basically it's this:
"Turn around, forget everything, go this other direction and bring as many with you as possible. Constantly pray, worship and serve. Have the Holy Spirit guide and refresh you daily."

@@user-ld6or5hc8k I get how frustrating it can be. Just keep going, ask questions (even if they are uncomfortable) you can ask me questions. Do you want my email? I'm in contact with a priest I like. (I get the being taken aback by stuff for I'm coming to Christ from hard-core atheism)

    • @daggerfighter

@@apnea6734 No, it's not that simple, if you have aplostolic succession but abide in heresy then fruits of this church and presence of the Holy Spirit are questionable topics.. So I wouldn't be part of false teachings personally. Btw catholic and orthodox undestranding of mystical experience and spiritual life and approach are almost opposite despite looking alike on surface. So think for yourself. To the author of the question: there'r tons of books tbh, I'd recommend start with some classic such as ladder by St. John the Climacus and books of St. Paisios Athonite (recent saint). Parishes may vary and have their shortcomings so don't judge on first impression. Investigate yourself on faith questions from the known Saints. On parishes - pray to God and He'll guide you (universal recommendation though:)).
