Such a massive beyond-vertical twisted drop is something out of fiction. I love it!

@@Rileythepreppykid This was before it even opened during testing, with an empty train. It will run much faster when it's running in normal operations and it's broken in

I rode this ride yesterday. Spent an hour in queue having a literal mental breakdown cause of how afraid I was. Left the station screaming every curse I could think of with loads of people watching. Then went down the drop and all my fear was replaced with so much excitement and joy. What an experience hyperia was

@@Yasin_2312 Yeah it is very steep, I think that's one of the things that makes the Big One look so imposing that it's a long drawn out lift and has lots of supports and lattice in Arrows style, so loads of steel. These days lifts are usually more steep and have a lot fewer supports, sometimes only 4 or so but I still think the steep lift hills look imposing in their own way.
@@iitzfizz In my opinion a steep lift hill looks more intimidating, but at the same time I like the Arrows Lattice Supports on the Big One, especially in the night when all the colours illuminate

Mack has delivered a winner here. The greatest coaster in the UK - no question. The outer bank is genius.
Already been on front row and i can promise you it's the most thrilling ride i've EVER been on by far.
Yeah my favorite is steel vengeance in the pitch black and this looks like it way outpaces it any time of day. That’s crazy to say.

@VGDomination it's a uk roller coaster built to break records.. steel vengeance is a hybrid coaster that's double the length and is the best cutting edge technology, however I will agree that first drop looks good, if it was a minute longer I would agree
Looks amazing. The view at the top and hangtime + airtime you’ll be getting is incredible. Wish you did the full POV of Hyperia, starting from the station and a full lift hill
Went to Thorpe Park for the first time yesterday, can happily say this is my favourite ride, however daunting it looked, it was SUPER thrilling and smooth to ride. Definitely worth a wait (even though we had fast track)

This actually looks like one of the best costers I've ever seen. That outward bank looks magical! I hope i am fortunate enough to ride this beauty soon!

As someone who has been on it during opening day, waited 7.5 hours for it, and after I went on it I regretted absolutely nothing, I was sat on row nine and I got dragged over that first drop and it’s the best drop in the country! All the elements were fantastic, the pacing was brilliant, it was silky smooth, and the air time was amazing, definitely the best ride in the country there is no question 💪

7 heures 1/2 d'attente, je n'ai jamais vu çà, même un premier jour ! : Voltron, 1 semaine après à Europa Park, 1 heure, Kondaa à Walibi Belgique, 5 minutes minimum et 45 minutes maximum, Ride To Hapiness à Plopsaland, 5 à 15 minutes, et Toutatis au Parc Astérix, entre 5 et 45 minutes aussi !
I for years have loved the big one, but this looks awesome and alot better, especially the part 0:33-0:36 where it looks like the sky is beneath you must feel like you're up in the clouds looking down!
I love how when you go over the first hill, It looks like you will go straight down into the element in front. But it just swings the opposite way.. Awesome!

I went on this today on the second row it was so mush fun! It was worth 1 hour queue! I highly recommended this ride!
Without a doubt the best coaster in the UK, accompanied by what is arguably the best theme tune for any coaster in the world. I loved it so much when I rode it.

Qued up for 90 min. Had the massive bonus of getting on to the front by pure luck. Was absolutely epic. Easily the best rollercoaster I've ever rode.

my personal opinion on hyperia: the best ride i’ve ever been on although it does break down a bit but that’s normal especially in hot weather. when you finish it you wish there was more to the ride. the air time too is incredible. the safety is better than it seems

@@JamesBurdon-gu5yu I’ve ridden it 4 times aswell and done front and back rows. IRL it isn’t as smooth as on the video but it isn’t necessarily rough. It’s just a slight rattle as the wheels bed it and it might disappear after the wheels have bedded in
@@Stephen_playz06 it will get more significant with time not less, however it will get to a point and degradation will become extremely low, unlike wood, likely lasting decades no problem. it's not bad it's just a matter of actuality for this, single rails however are almost entirely smooth in my experience.
@@JamesBurdon-gu5yu yeah single rails are smooth, but the wheels are still bedding in and it will get smoother soon but it will get rough over the years. In a year it might be smoother than it is now but in say 5 it’ll be rougher

Just got back from thorpe, 5hr 30min queue but so worth it! What a rollercoaster! Thorpe and mack you have got this one bang on the money!!
One of the craziest layouts out there, definitely one of the best hyper layouts. Big congrats to Thorpe on getting this coaster built! It’s definitely been a long journey.

its not even short idk what everyone is talking about. the longest ride is colossus 58 seconds excluding lift hills and hyperia is only 8 seconds shorter. its faster then swarm and only just slower than inferno. its rly not that short
@@VH91_ Thorpe has a problem with all their rides being too short. People are comparing it to the rides you get at universal/disney which can be 3 mins long.

@@tw-ij3kc hard agree it’s very much a uk problem, i get space and cost and that and i’m not unhappy about it, it’s just frustrating when the only ride we’ve got with over 1m30s ride time in the uk is the smiler basically whereas it’s standard most other places
To short and to slow
as soon as i saw this i immediately made a version of this beautiful/amazing roller coaster in planet coaster
Now that I've ridden it:
- It has a mild rattle. Nothing uncomfortable, but unexpected for a ride this new.
- The forces are great. Lots of airtime.
- The lapbars are great. You always feel like you're going to fall out but you never do fall out. Also, since it has lapbars, even if the rattle gets worse, it won't lead to headbanging. These are the most comfortable seats and restraints in the park. If Saw, Swarm and Colossus had these restraints and seats, they would be way better than they currently are.
About the other rides:
- Nemesis: Inferno was running way smoother than usual. Maybe even smoother than Hyperia (but not as smooth as Samurai or Rush).
- I didn't get to ride Saw. It had a way shorter queue than usual, but longer than the other rides, and my mother had to leave early because she was having dinner with a friend, so I also had to leave early.
- Colossus was not too comfortable. Probably my least favourite ride of the day. But still nowhere near as bad as before the retrack. Would benefit from new-gen IntAmIn trains with the lapbars like VelociCoaster, Taron and Toutatis have, but that would be expensive. Retrofitting the existing trains with lapbars could also help, but I'm not sure whether that would be possible (and if it is possible, it might be no cheaper than replacing the train, in which case it would be pointless). But even Maverick's restraints would be an improvement.
- Samurai is always great fun.
- Storm Surge is always good fun. And it seems to actually be open most of the time, whereas it always used to be closed. This is the second time I've ridden it.
- Tidal Wave is a soaker, as usual. Good fun.
- Stealth is good fun. However, even all of Stealth's speed and force isn't enough to fully dry me off after a ride on Tidal Wave. Probably because of my clothes.
As I get taller, I'm starting to like OTSRs less and less. Colossus's ones are almost touching my shoulders, and Samurai's are getting there. Nemesis Inferno's aren't as bad, which could partially be explained by that ride's lack of airtime so my shoulders don't rise to touch the restraints, but also could be explained by superior restraint design.
Edit: Hyperia is way rougher on the left hand side of the train for some reason. Although it's been a while since I last rode it, so they might have fixed it.
Just wanna add the rattle is kinda expected for a ride this new because all these types of Mack coasters have this slight rattle as far back as Bluefire in 2009

Am I the only one who just realised that since Hyperia is over 200 feet tall, it's also a Hyper, which for something that took me about half a year to realise is pretty excellent naming

Not sure the trims on the immelman exit are operational. But the ones in the splashdown certainly are. Takes the Stengel dive so slowly.

Went on this today, it truly does live up to the hype!
Got on the ride today after a 3 hour wait so worth it!
I can’t wait to ride it when it opens (for people who don’t know it’s only supporting you with a lap bar)
Looks amazing, but 0:41 is where a block brake should’ve been. Not the end of the ride.
I don’t know why Merlin made it so short. They had the space and they aren’t a family run park, they are multi billion pound company.
They were limited by the amount of the site that could actually be built on, because it had to be able to handle the changes in water level. So as far as making it longer, they didn't have a lot of room to play with. So it's a bit short, but those elements are going to hit you quickly and hit hard!
@@RapidsJohnson They seem more floaty and interesting than hard hitting. Might be the fisheye lens though, I feel like it doesn't do the ride justice. I mean it doesn't even look that tall or fast with this camera but we know it is.

What a great coaster! Opening day was awesome 👌
went on it earlier today, here are my thoughts:
- i loved it, it's incredibly smooth and insanely fun to ride, it's therefore become my fav coaster at thorpe park
- the restraints were surprisingly comfortable, the lack of shoulder restraints seems scary at first but it's actually so much better
- definitely worth the queue (i waited ~65 mins)
- first drop made my mouth fall open but after that it was incredibly exciting
- i wished it was longer😭😭
FINALLY this is gonna be so dope thankyiu for being so open thorpe can't wait to see what the future beholds😊😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

Big shame about the multiple trims, but I guess that's what happens when you build half a hyper layout, otherwise it would still be going 70mph into the final brakes.
The elements do look insane though, I can't wait to go on a day with reasonable queues!

When you look at the POV it looks like a good ride but when you’re on it it is really intense and I was like when you that was like oh he fall out it was so crazy. I like my favourite stuff ever and plus it was my first ever coaster, so thank you for a really good ride, I want to dance after.
