    Skullcrack definitely looks like a necessary 4 of at present. Do you side rift bolt out automatically if you bring in Vortex or is the decision more nuanced?

      It depends on the matchup because sometimes you wont have enough cards to bring in. I would recommend you to go check out my sideboard guide in the description.

    I enjoyed the deck profile! Burn gets some flack for being a hyper-linear, "brainless" deck, but there's a bit more depth to it than that. Regarding the best burn spell in the game, honestly, it probably is Lightning Bolt, but I think you could (maybe) make a case for Price of Progress and Sulfuric Vortex.
    I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts about some of the other options in Burn - e.g., Chandra's Incinerator (with Seal of Fire and perhaps Mishra's Bauble), Lurrus of the Dream-Den, and of course, using a pack foil Path to Exile compares to the FNM and MagicFest prints.

      @ggforgoblinguide3598  Před 3 lety +1

      That is pretty funny because when I played the video, I was also thinking that price of progress might be better. Also, for the other versions of Burn, I did other videos on my channel about them. Overall I would say that the Lurrus build is pretty good, but it not my favorite considering it does not interact well with Vortex because of the Bauble. For the Incinerator build, I think it is also pretty good, but there are just to many decks that plays well against it in the meta right now, too many aether gust and path to exile. For the foil path to exile, well I'm a original foil kind of guy.

      Def agree burn is not a simple deck to play at all. That’s why it my fav deck. It’s a very thought provoking deck. When to hold back certain cards when to play them. And it’s the small tweaks that can change the game plan hugely.
      I recently piloted a List with the new “roiling vortex” to answer for the large amount of life gain played in my meta. Helped me take the tournament and qualify for our local 1k.

      @@ggforgoblinguide3598 i think burn gets its reputation because the first 80 to 85 percent is so easy to pick up compared to alot of decks. Its that last 15 to 20 percent that makes a huge impact in the closer games though.

    • @ggforgoblinguide3598
      @ggforgoblinguide3598  Před 3 lety

      I agree, it's easy to play, but hard to master and a lot of people think that Burn players are necessarily bad players, wich is a shame.

    With all these no fetchlands and new Zendikar double face cards, do you think it's possible to build a deck with no fetches? New in the channel, good content.

    • @ggforgoblinguide3598
      @ggforgoblinguide3598  Před 3 lety

      Honestly I think you always need your red mana and white sometimes, so the new zendikar lands will not help you too much since you can only choose one side of the land. I think you can change the fetches with battlefied forge if you are looking for a more budget version. Also Mono-Red Burn is good alternative.

    • @sbruzzzz
      @sbruzzzz Před 3 lety

      @@ggforgoblinguide3598 actually my first deck in modern was a mono red burn, but for a couples of years I'm running the full upgraded list. I asked because I own a storm deck and the Caleb version don't use fetches, but I understand your point. In storm there is manamorphose. My burn deck is "complete", but I don't have too much time to mastered. At my local game store, I just played 4-5 times, 3 1st place, 1 2nd and the first time I played with the monored burn I punt a lot, but end up in 5th in a total 14 players.
