@@im.meghanOMG LMFAO, oh Woah lol... very witty comment :P
If everyone can be a model, being a model doesn't mean anything because the job of a word is to exclude every other thing that doesn't fit its meaning, and if it doesn't becomes nothingness... So, no one is a model.
@@edwardcanezI think what u mean is "Fashion model", that's its own genre
That 64 year old guy got done dirty. Dude looks super young and could be booked like crazy
Well, he looks ridiculously god for his age, but that might be irrelevant for modeling, because no one knows his age in a photo or commercial.

The color scheme of the last girl is SO GOOD! She really knows how to match things, especially with the combination of the socks, pink wheelchair, and hair piece.
She basically told the Lolita girl, "I'm giving you a 7 out of 10 just cuz I'm ignorant about Japanese fashion." Didn't even consider her skill.
or because its not high (U.S. standards) fashion (which theyre looking for) and its is japanese fashion which is a totally different style.

I don’t think she was wrong to say that. They’re rating the models based on their attractiveness AND how likely they are to be booked. If she doesn’t know about indie brands, how would she know what that market is looking for and how likely Amalie is to be booked?
@@Nunu_bear Well the most professional man there put the Lolita girl first for a reason so she was very likely to be booked. And are you saying she wasn't attractive? That's harsh, she's in a wheelchair for crying out loud, plus doing modeling poses with it, if that didn't stand out the most idk what will

comment section doesn't understand that runway isn't the only type of modeling
Literally. It's the profiles that aren't much of a look themselves saying this though...
Lol. I agree. OF I consider it to be some type of modeling lol bc ppl show off their bodies
Which is extra stupid considering the people in the video did a lot of work explaining this ...
we know. but even catalogue (or ecom now) at what not were still tall thin gorgeous ppl
@@MsDudette21Not really. More people pushed econ brands (which cater to regular people) to show regular people wearing their stuff so they can a more accurate idea of how it would fit on them. So even that, OP's comment stands tbh
Anybody can model. Are you going to walk for VS? Maybe not. But different companies look for different things. As long as you have the confidence, someone is probably going to be intrigued. It’s okay to be realistic, but don’t tear people down (especially when you have zero experience in the industry).
Anybody can model in the same sense that anybody can create a social media account. But in the classic sense of being booked for ad campaigns or catalog, no, not everyone can be that kind of model. Unless for shock value, it would be bad for a company’s bottomline to book a 5/10 when they can get a 7+/10 for the same price.
Anyone can model but not everyone can become a successful one
Eh, not everyone. I'm ugly as hell.
@@jermg yeah exactly. as someone who has modelled for 10 years (under multiple agencies in different countries- not just a self proclaimed "instagram model") i can say that sure anyone can "model"... but that doesn't mean you're going to make a lot of money or book a lot of work under big and well-loved brands. it's a rough industry, even if its "loosening up" in some areas it is still very strict and quite controlled as for what is most desirable which is tall, and skinny models- which is what modelling has primarily been centered around.
THAT PART RIGHT HERE 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤

one of the best videos you've made in a while. i can almost promise you that the japanese-brands girl is going to become pretty famous.
For all the people coming in with misconceptions. None of us are “self proclaimed models” we do work in the industry in all fronts. We book gigs and we get paid. Your misnomer of what it means to be a model is honestly interesting. You equate “beauty” with worth and that is a projection of your own insecurities. What is a model but a person. A person who is comfortable in front of a camera or in a room full of people. You can’t just be “conventionally attractive” and be a model. I have worked in front and behind the camera for shoots and “looks” only gets you so far. Plus the same people shaming us for being “not model quality” or the same people who shame other models for not being accurate representations of “themselves”. Regardless, your insecurities are your own and are valid, but that ain’t got nothing to do with me and my shine. I am a model. I’m showing that you don’t have to fit the “mold” to be a model and you deserve to love yourself to the point where you can be in spaces not traditionally made for you. I’m 5ft 9 1/2 and I’m large and in charge getting gigs and I just got signed. What are you doing?
Don't listen to the comments, people are ignorant. We need all different types of models!!!
👏🏼👏🏼
You’re killing it, that’s what you’re doing 🙏
And you're also extremely well spoken as this comment shows. I definitely lean towards buying products from companies who have more diversity in their ads, so I'm thrilled that you are working!

this video is so sweet! i just adore everyone especially the girl in the wheelchair 🥰
The guy at the end melted my heart. I hope he's doing okay. 🥺
I always take these attractiveness ranking videos with a grain of salt, because the rankers are generally more generous with the female participants than the males. Especially if the male and female participants have similar body types.
can we just appreciate how beautiful and diverse the models are? :)
Those tricks on the wheelchair were awesome. My jaw dropped I was so impressed
Am confused. Are they ranking attractiveness or modeling ability ? Those two are not the same thing.
First girl is definitely a runway model, but I wouldn't say she's attractive. The 60+ dude maybe isn't the most model of models but is quite attractive, I hope I'll be looking like he does when I'm 60+.
They used to be identical.
@@RextheRebel ...no. you aren't educated about fashion history.

@@Ceeradsreal, especially everyday fashion stores should both hire people with more popular body types and heights, AND make clothes that are fitted to these measurements. Because why tf is every model on like, H&M 6.2 for men and 5.9 for women when these are the categories with the least amount of people in them 😂 Chinese people got it, where I am there's a lot of chinese-owned stores and their clothes represent the majority of body types for chinese people, you won't be finding clothes that would only fit a 6 ft tall human 😂

The plus market is shrinking
0:51 she is so beautiful
Why is it so easy to judge someone by their height compared to weight? Height is genetic, weight is mainly lifestyle. Shame someone for being short but preach body positivity when they're overweight. It's fine to have preferences but the double standard is wild
👏👏👏
Weight is also genetic and environmental, and science shows it's not mainly lifestyle. That said people's characters shouldn't be based on their look but when you're talking about modeling, you're selling an image of yourself and that can be judged. It just so happens that for the need of specific markets, height is still a big thing. They didn't comment on everyone's height, only on the ones that were targeting those markets.
Weight is often times genetic. You don't know if someone's weight is due to eating habits or hormonal. It could be a byproduct of necessary medication, a hormonal disorder, a rough pregnancy, genetic predisposition, thyroid issues, etc. To assume it's automatically within their control is ignorant.
@@africanodyssey4805you can almost always change your weight whereas you can’t really change your height
@Jferraro24 once again, you're ignorant. You can't assume why ppl weigh what they do, and you can't assume that what's most healthy for them is to be slim. It's like you view all plus sized ppl under the same 600 lbs magnifying glass. You don't know ppls health just based on weight, and this is coming from someone who's been skinny their entire life.
i'm sorry but i'll never understand how mullets and fanny packs actually came back into style and manage to look even worse as well.

Please bring back keep it 100 and ask about peoples dreams in life 😁
Oh my god anytime i see jessie in these videos it makes me so happy...... even if its at the end.
Despite knowing how much is cut out of these videos. Here’s a rundown.
The judges all had different “ranking” styles, based on bookability, what’s needed in the market, your overall “look”, etc. All these models already have the job, already fill those spots, we weren’t there for validation or an ego boost, this shit is fun and you meet awesome people and learn more about the broad job that is “Modeling”. I’d love to sit down to respond to all these comments cause lol, but I’m booked and busy waitin on my next paycheck so, thank you, next.
y'all in the comments saying he's lying about being 64. you know not everyone ages really poorly, right? 🤣 my mother is 67 and looks even younger than this guy. some people age gracefully, it doesn't have to be a lie lmao
It’s not a matter of “gracefully” or “poorly.” Yes, to some extent, people can control how they age: never smoke or ruin your skin by tanning; don’t drink alcohol too much. But, other than those things, we don’t have much control over how we age. A lot is up to genetics and luck.
Based on this, I'm a 10/10 model.
I think this would've been better if it were "ranking", hard to rly get honest opinions out of these people when they're staring at each other in the face
The girl in a wheelchair is inspiring. I hope she gets more gigs with bigger brands
A few of us models in this vid made a full reaction video that’s on my YT channel if any of ya’ll are curious on what we thought 👀
