We were just on the viva and considered the Haven. Instead we got a balcony and passes to the Vibe Beach Club! Was fantastic as we do not cruise with children and had a total adult experience.
Did you have issues with ash in Vibe? Our clothes had all these black marks from soot from the funnel.
A nice review, very helpful. I had heard some negatives and your description makes the previous reports make sense. I remember when I first cruised getting on smaller ships and finding the overall service to be top-notch. Then I was so excited to get on a newer, bigger ship, and found that it lost some of the vibe that excellent service brings to cruising. Thanks for doing the review!

Cruise at 4,000+ passengers bound to be lines and slow service
Price now bad
Had $2,000 May 4 2022 balcony 7 day
Then $2,500 January 14 2023 balcony
Last was $3,000 12 day
Balcony
Now 10 day ocean view $4,909. Owe $4,209 + service charge $200
Feeling a little better about my decision!!!! I was so torn, I am surprising my husband with a Haven suite for our 30th anniversary. I really wanted to do the deluxe owners suite on the Prima (with the balcony hot tub) because of the ability to be aft AND be in the Haven directly vs the encore having to make a choice of being directly in the Haven or being in an aft penthouse. Also really like the idea of a private elevator!!! The Encore port just works better for us at this time so was the deciding factor unfortunately. I think that I am going to take your advice and book the vibe also on the Encore.

Thanks for the review - great information for us - we love the Haven, but still prefer smaller ships.
My husband and me were several times in Haven on Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Jade (in former times Haven was called Courtyard) - we know each type of Haven Suite on these both ships - Penthouse Suite, Deluxe Owner's Suite, Garden Villa. We prefer the privacy with Haven on Norwegian's smaller ships - butler, concierge, room steward, service staff - they all know their guests. Service and the over the top privacy on these smaller ships were simply excellent.
Note: To get coffee, no problem - there is a coffee/tea bar at the Haven pool - although we always had a capsule coffeemachine in our suite.

I totally missed the coffee bar at the Haven pool. We asked several times about coffee each morning and they made a big deal about having to go into the back and get it. I wish they'd just said go to the pool bar.
@@TripswithAngie Not to misunderstand: The coffee/tea bar is at Haven pool on smaller ships like Norwegian Gem or Jade. I don't know about larger ships.

Thanks for this review. I really like the level of detail you get into; it's so helpful when trying to book the right ship/cabin, etc. I noticed your balcony didn't offer much privacy; there was no overhang. I looked at the cabin above yours on the Prima deck plans and noticed that room above yours had a slightly different diagram compared to Cabin 12930. I'd like to book an aft in the Haven but looking for more balcony privacy from above so I think I will really need to study the deck plans. You mentioned your parents were in the cabin directly above you and that their cabin shower was a bit smaller. How was their balcony? Did it have an overhang and offer more privacy? Thanks very much.
Their cabin was smaller and their balcony was a little smaller. They did have a partial overhang.

How do you feel about a front facing balcony vs. an aft facing balcony. Cruising the Viva in January in a front facing balcony. Never experienced an aft balcony. Thanks!😎😎😎
I haven't been in the forward facing balconies on the Prima.
We haven't taken an NCL cruise in years. Usually Celebrity, Viking. I'm interested in the Prima/Norway-Iceland with the Haven. Viking's food has been great.. Celebrity's Suite class has has dropped.. How was the Haven's restaurant food? Also, we're still working, need good wifi connectivity. Let us know. Thank you
The dining review is in the video. Wifi is satellite so it's subject to weather conditions. You may have some issues in some areas of Norway or Iceland.
Here is the million dollar question if you have stayed inside the Haven before. I like how on Encore and Epic you stay actually inside the haven and the restaurant, bar, and pool is right outside your door. I dont know how I would feel having to take an elevator every day back and forth. I realize its only an elevator ride but I am curious. Did you not mind that?
I haven't stayed in a cabin right by the lounge so it wasn't a big difference to me.
Why would you have a problem getting a deck chair in The Haven? Do they allow the chair hogs there also? If I am paying $14,000 for a Haven suite, there had better be a chair with my name on it.
There is not a chair with your name on it unless you count the one on your balcony. The crew will help you find a chair if you are having trouble.
To upgrade need to be balcony + $1,000
