- It's a glorious, sunny Saturday morning, so we decide to drive to the pretty little Sunshine Coast town of Yandina. Yandina is one of the oldest towns on the Sunshine Coast - famous for The Ginger Factory and its charming town centre full of heritage-listed buildings. Yandina also has a great little market that operates on Saturday mornings with a mix of plants, fruit and vegetables, second-hand goods and food outlets. We had so much fun bumping into friends, grabbing some bargains and tasting some delicious chai tea and vegan brownies! We have a delicious lunch at the local bakery and a walk around town before leaving for our next stop...Mapleton Falls!
After a lot of rain last night, we thought it would be a good time to show you Mapleton Falls. There's a wonderful viewing platform right next to the car park, signed walks and it's a great place to have a picnic.

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

Looks like a lovely day out guys. We love our waterfalls so we may need to look for some walks to do around that area. Can't pass a market up either, especially an authentic, one and we haven't been to the Ginger Factory in more years than I care to remember. Thanks for the inspiration for our (try to be) weekly Sunday outings.
Hi @Rob and Ali's Big Days Out 🤗 Mapleton National Park is a great place for walking...it's part of the 'Sunshine Coast Great Walk' and there are lots of tracks. The market is open every Saturday from 6am to 12 pm. The Ginger Factory is open every day from 9am to 5pm. Admission is still free....it just costs extra to do go on the optional rides or tours.

Good morning 🌞❤️🌞. What a joy. We went to the Falls during our holiday in 2019. I felt my virtigo coming on as you walked towards the edge. It was so funny 🤣😂😂. Just like when we went there. It was worth every knee shake and wave of nausea 🤣😂😂. We only went to the Ginger Factory in Yandina which was sad, but the fires were getting smokier so we had to head back to Caloundra. Thank heavens I have all my photos I can relive my holiday with. Thanks for the lovely trip 😘. See you next week. I can't wait to see where you'll be taking us.💕🌹💕

We loved our visit to Yandina Market and filling up on delicious chai and brownies then bumping into the BAM Famalam’s who have the best sense of humour. My favourite places at Yandina are ginger factory and nutworks. Would never missed a visit or two while we are on the Coast.

Well, that was fun seeing Yandina and surrounding area, where my niece and her family live. The market looks terrific, as does the bakery! I could just eat one of those chocolate eclairs with fresh cream!

Thanks again, we can't travel at the moment however we love going from our accommodation in Noosa to the Hinterland Peg buys everything she sees that is hand made, and we take back plenty of fresh fruit for the following weeks. Philltheflyer (Melbourne)i.e. our cat is 18years old and is blind ,can't take people other than the two of us , so no travel at this stage

Hi Jenni, yes, we loved Yandina market….we can’t wait to go back! We’ve planted the tree ferns next to our balcony so we can see them when we sitting outside having breakfast or coffee from the verandah 🌿🌿 The view from the lookout at Mapleton Falls is spectacular (our vlog didn’t do it justice) 🤗

We have a niece and family in the Yandina area. We half expected that we might spot them at the market.
A highlight of the video, for me, was the image of the pies and sausage rolls in the bakery. Also.... is there any bakery dessert item that would outrank a chocolate eclair? I think not. LOL

Hi John, wow 😮 most Queenslanders have never seen ❄️ we once lived 2 hours from the Victorian Alps, which meant we occasionally got to see the snow…..it was such a novelty for us 😊 Its Autumn here now and we’re averaging 28c during the day and 18c overnight.
