Personally, from my one visit there in 2011, I found Las Vegas to be dirty, fake, kitsch, and soulless.
Far less alive than I had imagined, but I wouldn't discourage anyone visiting once.

So true. Was there in Christmas 2002 and found the hotels very impressive but the rest of the city not so good. Lots of messed up people.
