Honestly the parks are so empty for the meetup, there’s not much to it! Just make a list of your priorities and do those first. The only thing that limits you is the hours of the event, not crowds!
We left universal orlando this morning and is now home. It's an eight hour drive for us from the Mississippi Gulf coast. My feet are recovering, but our family had a great time. It's awesome during this time of year, either no wait or hardly any wait. Long waits are the popular rides first thing in the morning. Instead of waiting we go to the less popular rides, and walk right in. We plan on going back when the new addition is done.

Great video, as always! Would LOVE it if you would do a tour of all of the Universal Resort hotel's holiday decorations. They are much more difficult, if not impossible, to find videos for than the Disney Resort hotels. Especially, Endless Summer Surfside and Dockside. Planning a trip next Christmas and would love to see what the hotels look like all done up for the holidays to get us in the mood!
Thank you Amanda! We have talked about trying to get to all the hotels during this trip! The problem is that we are there for a very short period of time! Its really frustrating cause we have all these ideas and want to do them all! We just need to suck it up and move down there that way we can cover everything for you guys!
@@ThePughTwo If you decide to do the hotel reviews, think about including what amenities are included with each level of room. The Sapphire check-in had to call around to figure out that our hospitality room didn't include a microwave. We got into the room to find out that it does. We assumed a basic toaster would be included but it doesn't. (Thank goodness for Walmart delivery) There was a full service of plates, glassware, and silverware. The coffee maker uses pods instead of K cups. There is a full size refrigerator with ice in the door. This info is near impossible to find online.

Hey, my name! That's awesome! Also, I wish we were going this time, but alas, we cannot. I will be either forcing Dustin to go to the next one, or bringing my good friend. This was actually a great video, because him hearing someone else explain it, made him a bit more curious about it. Lastly, butterbeer and crepes would be my number one to get!! Or butterbeer ice cream.
We weren't sure what to think the first time we went, and now we talk about going every time they announce one haha! We hope you get to attend one soon. We are so excited for all the butterbeer! We will for sure have a tummy ache when we leave, but thats okay!

If you do not get picked some times you can go the last 30 minutes of the meetup and ride. I wasn't selected last December went 30 minutes before close and all had gone so they allowed me to ride. Can't promise it will but can't hurt to try if it's really important to you 😊

Hey guys! Thank you so much for the great tips. Are you guys attending the Dec.11th MeetUp? According to their FB page they’ve only sent out the emails for this weekend so far & I think the 3rd, but should I be concerned that I haven’t received our emails for the 11th?
We are going on the 4th! If they are saying they have only sent those out, we would assume they will send them out this coming up week for 11th! We wouldn’t be concerned yet!
What is the impact like for those not attending? We will be there during this time frame…didn’t know this was a thing. Thank you for all you do.
You will just be enjoying the park as normal! They do not shut the parks down early for these meetups! The only thing you may notice is slightly larger crowds!

Hi!!! Would you recommend having 1 person buy tickets for the party or each individual? I ask because I saw they sold out in 3 min.. what if me and 3 friends got it but the last one didn't? That’s a great question, and honestly it’s just up to your group! If you have any issues with tickets I’d suggest reaching out to OI’s team to see if they can accommodate you at all!
Worst mistake I made ( for financial reasons) was staying at a hotel that required a shuttle (surfside) so picking up tickets at 3 then back to hotel then back at 5 is extra energy lost.
Yeah sometimes the shuttles get really backed up and it can make the transit less than fun!

I have heard that bigger rides like velosicoaster, hulk, Hagrids, etc. close early due to noise ordinances and things, if this is true, what time do these rides typically close?
They do and we have talked about that a lot! Generally an hour before the event ends!
Thanks for the info! I haven't gotten any emails about the locations/times for ticket pick up or sign ups for hte pteranadon flyers. I've got tickets for Dec. 11. I did get emails about the upcoming June 3-4 event, though. How early do they send out the emails with the details? I'm really interested in the Pteranadon Flyers, too!
We got ours pretty far in advance. We would consider reaching out to them if you haven’t gotten them yet! You could check your spam folder if you haven’t already, but for sure if you don’t have them Monday, we would reach out!
FYI The pteranadon flyers is based on a lottery. U get a separate email telling u u can ride it. We went in June but we weren't the lucky ones for that.

It’s is about 2 weeks before your meetup date. The meetup for the weekend of the 3rd just went out a couple days ago. I recommend joining the Facebook group if you haven’t already. Lots of helpful information!

We land at MCO at 8pm tonight and I’m considering buying tickets for my daughter and me. I’ve texted and there are a couple of tickets available but concerned that even though there will be fewer people in the park that hagrid and velocicoaster will still have long lines. Any clue as to what we should expect? Thanks!
So when we went last December, the highest waits we saw for Hagrids was 40 minutes! Velocicoaster wasn't open yet so we have no clue there. We would assume that it and hagrids will help each other out and the wait times should stay relatively low for both! Safe travels and have an amazing time!

My son and I went to the Informer Meetup in December 2018. We are going again this year in June 2023 for both days this time. Question about the lockers. How do we use the free lockers since we do not get a ticket just the wristband?
That's so exciting! You do get a ticket on top of the wristband, too! You can use the ticket at the lockers. The wristband is just so the workers can easily see who has a ticket when they're clearing daytime guests out of the park.

My Family and I are planning a universal trip for the first week in January 2022. Is it still busy at that time or will the crowds be lower after the holidays?
The week after New Years, so like January 1-7 can be quite busy. It’s more busy like 1st , 2nd, and 3rd and then the crowds would start leveling off

It is in the Marvel area, oddly enough at a stand in the back towards toon lagoon called "Lemon Slush"

Oh you don’t register for tickets to the meetup, you buy them! And yes, once you buy it you’re guaranteed your spot! It’s been a while since we made this video, but I’m guessing you might be referring to the pteranodon flyers lottery? This is just for one specific ride that only a few hundred people can ride per night, so they randomly select from the people that have bought tickets to the event. Aside from that, everyone that has a ticket has access to everything at the event!

Hi there, when will Orlando Informer put out their Meet up dates for 2023?
We’re not sure! They haven’t announced anything about it yet, and I can’t remember when they did it last year. They’re pretty good about posting it all over their socials, though, that’s probably the best way to stay up to date!
I went this past weekend, and I think I will go during the day. Hagrid had a posted 50 min wait. And I still thought it was peopley. Dont get me wrong, I had fun, but I think I will just go with an AP and go multiple times.
We totally get it. It’s definitely a little expensive and if you able to go to the parks a lot it might not make much sense!
@@ThePughTwo I work weekend shift, so I was thinking about multiple midweek visits. Is the crowd level lower during the week vs. Weekend days? It would be Tuesday through Friday.

Would you say the OI Meetup is good for someone who has never been to Universal? I think the meetup gives you the best of both worlds (meaning food and rides). I don't know if my daughter would be able to hang all night and then I don't know how I would feel going by myself lol. I know a lot of people travel solo but I don't know if I would have the same amount of fun by myself. That's my dilemma. Enjoyed the video and your enthusiasm!
We think it’s an awesome way to experience Universal, even if it’s your first time. We would say that if it is your first time we would want to have a game plan because the event is decently expensive and we wouldn’t want to be lost in parks and miss out on the short wait times and free food! Don’t go to the parks during the day. It’s a waste of time and energy. Relax by the pool for the day and head over at 5ish. That gives you plenty of time at the park and you won’t be tired by the time the event starts at 7/8

Orlando Informer rents out the parks and sells tickets that gives people access to the parks with free food and low wait times!

For some reason I feel like those stands are closed during the meetups, but I’m not sure! That’s a great question! You could probably use your food gift card you get before the event starts to get one, though!

Wait so do you need an admission ticket along with the informer ticket?
If you want to get in during the daytime, yes. The informer ticket will get you in around 5:00 pm (that’s the usual time, but it could change depending on the meetup)
