From JS
Easy Rider dimensions have been created with the goal of making our most popular models even more approachable. After a year of JS riding more different boards than ever before alongside Occy and Parko, with an R&D process riddled with injuries, lower fitness levels & work obligations, JS designed our EasyRider specs for easy paddling coupled with high performance surfing. Foam is hidden in all the right places for extra floatation, but with lowered rails that can still be buried at high speed.
The all new Monsta, ready for anything in 2023 and beyond. To be in line with the Traktor Team’s most recent favourite boards, we’ve made some slight adjustments to the foil along with fractionally deeper concaves to provide extra lift and quicker transitions.
The rocker is still the same magic curve as our Monsta 20, featuring a generous sweet spot which easily generates speed, allows you to control big turns, and balances release out of the lip. The nose has just enough flip in the last few inches to prevent catching in critical parts of the wave, while the tail rocker remains to fit into the waves our Monsta is designed to thrive in - almost any conditions from chest high to double overhead.
Single concave under front foot runs into a double concave through the fins to give you plenty of spark, yet maintain control in powerful surf, while a clean outline flows into a slight hip that allows for responsive direction changes. Overall, the Monsta prompts intuitive & fast surfing. It’s our best flagship shortboard yet, and now, it’s ready for the rest of the world to enjoy anywhere, anytime. The best always find a way to get better.

Ode to The Green Iguana,
The black sands of far-west NorthSouthAustralia, great review, and Wooly ripping, as always.
What a treat!
Yewww!
Ha ha love the Green Iguana 🦎. One of my favourites
Wooly ,. you are the Mr. Miyagi of surfboards ,.
I am outside painting the fence ,. watching this video and meditating on what board I should order next :) Keep posting the vids O'Sensei !!!
Wax on, wax off 😂
You definitely sold me on those waves .where can I get a plane ticket . Board looks sweet too . Yew !
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that all the time!

🙏🤙
Killed it Bravo 👏
🙏🤙
always good ....info
Thanks!
Love the vids looking to get a FireWire too fish to wiggle on. Maybe you could do a review on it next. As always thank you for the content! 🤙🏼
Thanks mate.
I have one now but I haven’t ridden it just yet.
@@WoolyTV please do ! would love to see how it goes as a small wave board
I've had it for a few months. Close to a magic board, found it way more high performance than my Merricks and losts, which have these horrible soft rails
Yeah it’s a great HPSB. I’ve had a couple of good surfs on the CI 2.Pro and that feels great too but seems to need a really good wave to push it along.
I love going to surf and skate in Mandurah
Do you mean ‘Star Surf + Skate’? Or just like going to Mandurah surf and skate?
Hey mate , great reviews as always,, just a question with board thickness and barrels. At what thickness do you feel is getting too thick to be a good board in the tube…. If that makes sense? So at 2 3/4 are you gonna start catching rail etc ?
Yeah I think so. Really depends on the rail shape this has a good down rail so that gives good hold even if the board is thick along the stringer.
If you want a really rolled deck with pinched rails, have a look at the Schooner too.
I had a stock CI Happy with 2-7/16 thickness that I loved. After I broke it I ordered a custom, same everything as stock except 2-9/16” thickness. I requested to have the extra thickness in the middle but to have the rails and tail thinned down similar to what they would be on the stock board with 2-7/16” thickness. The rails and tail didn’t come out nearly as thin as they were on my first board and it’s definitely not as good for me (other than it paddles a little better). I find it harder to lean and push hard on bottom turns when I have a lot of speed and in general doesn’t change direction quite as easily. Now I am watching reviews looking for boards that carry quite a bit of foam for paddling but that have thin rails and tails. Probably going to buy a schooner.
@@jt3366 I’m of the opinion it’s better just to stick with the stock DIMs as the shapers have worked out all the files so each length is scaled up. The Schooner has the most pinched rails of the JS line but just be aware that model works best in head high good quality waves (and up).
Had some great waves on it, went great for ya....what were you riding last Sunday, saw you ripping it up on the next break across.
Last Sunday I had a quick surf on the HS Holy Hypto, I’m reviewing that at the moment 🙏🤙
@@WoolyTV Epic day with surprisingly low crowds. Board looked great, lots of foam climbs and turns flowing really well, performancy. I was hoping it was the HS HH. Looking forward to the review m8 😀🤙
Hi Wooly, which hpsb board do you find the most forgiving out of the Shadow, phantom or Monsta 10 ?
Im looking for something to sit inbetween my Flat Earth and Chillie Faded 2 - which is epic btw !
Cheers 🍻
I’m thinking the Monsta 10 is the most forgiving. But it has been a very long time since I rode a Shadow or a Phantom.
Hey wooly what are the main differences you noticed between this board and the monster 2020 in how they preformed and felt cheers a ton 👌
@@Undergroundffn the Monsta 10 needs a good wave to get the most out of it where as the Monsta Box is flatter and will work in sub par conditions. The Monsta Box has been updated and is now the Xero Gravity.
Wooly - would you get a chance to review the Raging Bull? Would love to see you rip and review. Love the channel 🤙
Sorry never had a RB as yet!
Hey Wooly, which board tail had the largest sweet spot? Prayers for your knee!
My knee is fine the filmer/editor Max was just having a bit of fun 😂. Both tails felt great, I would just go the round if you want a little bit more hold as it gets bigger.
How did you like that pad? Any noticeable difference from a normal creatures pad?
I’m a big fan of the Proto pad. I prefer the feel over them to normal pads. They seem to get stickier as they are wet. Really nice underfoot
@@WoolyTV What does it feel like? a sole of a shoe?
@@mattbass3033feels slight different but good, less coarse bit more padding feeling.
Note: my deck is pretty concave and the edges of the kick didn't stick down as well as my other pads.
@@sam.stoked Thanks for the info. I have a freshie that needs a pad. maybe i'll try it
For good waves, monsters 10 or schooner?
Both 😂. Monsta will surf down to smaller waves better and the Schooner has a bigger end it will surf up to.
How does this sit with the xero? Is the xero meant to be a groveller?
This one is a performance board, the Xero range is flatter than the Monsta rocker. Xeros will work better in smaller flatter waves and the Monstas will work better in good quality waves.
How would you compare to Happy Everyday? A lot of overlap or complimentary?
Happy Everyday would be more like a Xero Gravity in the JS line. This one is more like the CI 2.Pro or Two Happy
Review the fever by Channel Islands
I have a list of about 10 boards lined up and the Fever isn't in there at this stage.

Big fun guys!
I've bought a dominator 2, mush up, JS xero, tomo fish, because your reviews guys.
I'm 50 years old I don't even surf neat your level but your comprehensive and understanding or boards and waves overviews really has help me a lot.
Much appreciated the hard work you've put into this Channel.
Thanks guys from.the bottom of my hear.

Dropping the wax in the sand - oof
Always a tragedy!
@@WoolyTV hope your knee feels better too
What about some wetsuits reviews?
@@iraklein1625I’m always using different suits but haven’t done any reviews as yet. I’m finding it hard enough to find time to do all the boards I have piled up 😅
Looking like a spring chicken! Ripping wooly.
Too kind Barron 🙏🤙
Is wooly getting paid to review the boards?? Is there biased or 100% ligit
No mate, I don't get paid. It actually costs me $1k to $1.5k to produce each episode. Only a couple of brands actually give me boards, the rest I have to pay for. So yes they are legit.
@@WoolyTV okay that’s great thanks for the transparency! I just bout the monsta 10 and you weren’t lying it goes off 🔥

Did you lose the hat?
I did lose one hat on that trip. Hopefully someone found it and continued to wear it
I love your reviews I have the monsta (6) . Raund tail 6.0 28 liters. Jason Stevenson is getting worse every year with that stupid volume theory, the board looks not good under your feet
I feel this Monsta is better than the previous. I have ridden the board a lot since the review was filmed and it’s going really good for me
What volume theory are you talking about?
