When I was a kid.I thought that Arsenal was named after Arsene Wenger.
Me too
Lol
Yess😂 me too

Arsene Wenger's contribution to Arsenal's history cannot be overstated. He is Arsenal on two feet! A real football legend.
Not just ARSEnal but the whole Premier league and down. Other teams started doing things differently after hearing what Wenger was doing.
Had it not been Kroenkes, we would have things very differently, we would have been what Liverpool is now.
@@kiranp5611 Exactly! I hate how some fools just blame Wenger for everything as if he was provided the tools to succeed and didn't use them. He overachieved under the Kroenkes!
And then you go to aftv and see the bile they were directing towards him in his last few seasons. Disgusting
@@kiranp5611 Naaaa, they will never be elite. Top team but never elite
Can’t believe there isn’t a statue of him outside the Emirates yet!
Never mind the statue, the stadium should be named after him.
@@moskusviagra don’t think you can do that for sponsorship issues but yeah atleast a stand or something
The statue is actually in making. Arsene and the club were just going through some after divorce time lets say :) not easy for both sides to start new chapter
He needs a statue and a stand named after him
They can't put a statue outside the Emirates because tools like DT would tear it down
He is the father of the modern premier league. Revolutionised coaching both on and off the field.
Every league team has followed suit since. Without him setting a precedent, the PL wouldn't be what it is now. Wenger doesn't get enough credit in the public eye.
The Steve Jobs of football.
wait what? So Wenger is overrated? Cos Steve Jobs certainly is....
@@Jayll1984 lay of the crack
Revolutionised? What are you talking about? Even Arsenal doesn't following his approach anymore.... you know the stingy transfer
Father of Modern Day Premier League? N what Alex Ferguson managed hockey?
Alex says hold my beer
“Papa Wenger says no tea!” - Bergkamp
Telling an english lad he cant have tea must have hurt 😂😂
That’s just plain wrong no way would I give up my morning cup of tea! 😂😂
According to the EDL ian is not english bcs he s black
@@mebe4367 what?
@@mebe4367 Lol wtf? Being English isn’t a race it’s a nationality
@@mebe4367 same way black people say white people can't be south african for example. both sides are stupid
Wenger really told an English man with Jamaican heritage that he can't have tea or seasoning. Good lord
The impertinence of the man.
🤣🤣🤣
Wenger didnt know what a 'rass-claht' until that day!!
He is more Jamaican than English.
@@halfvolley11 who Ian Wright ? 😭😭
@@user-vm9hh2se7s Yeah. He is originally from Jamaica.
Ian Wright is that guy that you can't wait to meet again because you know he's got a story for you.

I snuck in some tea 🍵 bags😮😁
That’s the most British things I’ve ever heard
Arsene Wenger
The man who revolutionised English football
Man got an average arsenal team top 4 every time
No Alex Ferguson did that and there’s no doubt about it
@@Ben-ng3og Ferguson just won trophies. Wenger changed the landscape.
@@Ben-ng3og no one can deny SAF’s greatness
But come on
Wenger was a tactical genius
Him,pep,cryuff
One of the best tactical geniuses
@@azinap345 I wouldn't call Pep a tactical genius, his tactics are amazing but he would never be able to transform a team without BILLIONS
@@moluther2826 Ferguson addressed dietary issues for his younger players way before Wenger came to England.
Dennis then rolls up a fat one..."The boss never said anything about the Bob Marley now did he"???
Bergkamp coming at Wrighty with the brutal honesty of a Dutchman. Savage. 😂
It's fair to say the older players Bergkamp, Henry, Vieira respected Wenger to the max that they would obey by his rules.
Remember in Wenger's final year at Arsenal, Alex Iwobi was at a party 24 hours before a game.. This generation of players just didn't appreciate him enough
It is also safe to say that Arsene had become a granddad by the end of his reign to the boys hence players like Iwobi having the audacity to break the rules. You know, a strict father usually becomes a puppy to his grandchildren.
Bergkamp was a professional thru and thru. He had no issues following orders by the boss esp when it aligns with his goals.
that's why Bergkamp is Bergkamp and Iwobi is Iwobi now (even though he was very talented)
"I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight".
*boiled
Haha I forgot about that! Wrighty brand was strong!
Absolutely love Ian, what a great footballer but an even better Man! He's got a heart of gold, god bless him!
Damn... that story about Bergkamp and the teabags is amazing. I don't care for Arsenal in the slightest, but the expectations and accountability they had was a huge reason why they were able to get so stuck in when it came time to play Man United and Newcastle in the mid 90s up to the early 00s. Incredible.
One of the greatest managers of all time. Liverpool fan.
This was level of dedication and companionship that made Invincibles.
A boss who knows what he was doing and a group hungry talented players who were ready to follow him keeping their own interests aside.
And that is why you were legends back then.. As opposed to the meme we are right now
This is a perfect example of how people change over even immediate generations. On one hand there's Ian, Bergkamp and their take on the nutrition regime planned by Wenger. Although Ian plays a "disobedient prat" against Wenger's disciplinary actions, at the end of the day, he believes all of this ultimately makes the team better. On the other hand, you apply the same disciplinary nutrition regime to the current crop of players, they become rebellious, throw tantrums and compromise their performance just to oust him altogether. Player Power have made legendary clubs like Arsenal, United and Chelsea falter to the point where they struggle for getting first 4 of the table. Managers who found a way to adjust to that change of mentality and still provide some degree of discipline to players have excelled to lead nowadays: Pep and Klopp are such kind of managers.
Legendary club like Chelsea...? I didn't know clubs could be legendary before even being 18 years old 😂
Well they've played two champions league finals and won one, that alone puts them above many. Being ancient does not necessarily equal being a big club.
Yes, player power like at Chelsea, and Utd when under Mourinho.. However, don't forget that this is not a new phenomena, it happened to Clough at Leeds too, back in the 70's. A manager needs to earn the respect first like in any working environment. It probably doesn't help if you go into a team that has a high pedigree already or has won trophies recently and then try to alter everything at once.
I think football has declined in entertainment value but this generation is by far the most disciplined off the pitch and it's not even close
@@CamMackay96 1905
It would be hilarious if Arsene came in and Ian got annoyed with the diet and was like
"I cant wait for this guy to leave , cant take that long"😂
Always enjoy the various guests anecdotes on this show!
I always enjoy that Graham gives his guests the space and room to tell them!
Can’t believe no one gave a loud cheer when the name ‘Dennis Bergkamp’ was uttered !!!!😢
It's not cheesey American TV where people cheer at the mention of someone's name.

Wrighty is an absolute legend - I used to love watching him and Bergkamp and Henry at Highbury when they were on fire for Arsenal. Big love.
It's always good to hear from a legend

Thanks for posting.
I'm just here to say Graham Norton is my favorite late night show host 😊
Can’t believe there isn’t a statue of both arsene and Ian both amazing club legands
Happy to see Wrighty!
The man changed the game and nobody seems to appreciate that
I'm not a fan of football, but I love Ian wright. ❤
“....Dennis Bergkamp, the best player I ever played with...”
Graham Norton is the best. He asks the question and then shuts up for the guest to answer. That’s a man who’s comfortable in his own skin.
Love Wrighty! ❤️
Do you love Wenger though?

The arsenal invincible team was amazing. All thanks to Arsene. He brought science to the sport.

Good to know his name is actually "Ian Wright's". Thought you had a typo in the title there for a second. ;P
Good story ian lol
When I was child , I always taught Arsene Wenger is owner of Arsenal
Exactly I used to think arsenal was named after arsene
Not the food that made them successful, it was the mindset. "Listen to me and we will succeed"
Wrighty is a good bloke.
we need to bring Dennis the 'non flying dutchman' Bergkamp back to the club as part of Arteta's coaching team..
Imagine thinking DENNIS BERGKAMP would be on Mikel Arteta’s coaching team. It’d be the other way around, mate. Even Freddie didn’t hang around to be a part of Arteta’s team. They’re not on the same level at Arsenal Football Club
not a fan of Arsenal but I have always remembered 2 players; Dennis Bergkamp, Marc Overmars
Looks like a rehab meeting
Great work by the title editor! No ‘O’ level English then?
Ok having a strict diet with food and water is understandable but as soon as he said they weren't allowed tea, that would have been the final straw 😉
Yeah that’s not modern athletes much these days...
For Britishers only
Dennis Bergkamp is even more amazing because of this.
As silly as it seems things like this with English Football player mentality are why it took us so long to get back to being close to winning a Big Tournament at international level after Euro 96, because other teams and other players had the right attirude towards health and fitness and disciple and being professional naturally so achieved great things at domestic and international level.
Whereas we probably had some players who did it naturally anyway and got what manager's and staff were trying to do, but too many overgrown school boys who were trying to find loopholes (and thinking it was funny bending/defying the rules cause it gave them a story to tell) knocking around.
Took another 15-20 years of coming short even with great players in the squad for the penny to drop and for us to get the message at last!
Wenger: Drinking tea is as bad as smoking crack
This proves Micheal McIntyre observation true about football: everything is at the end of the day
Hey Gunners fans, remember a few years ago when you lot had your “Wenger Out” banners, AFTV rants and grown men screaming at their TVs about how Arsene ruined their club? Because I remember how you treated one of the greatest managers in Football history.
Wenger's time was up, for he had failed to adapt to the evolving football climate which is ironic as he was so revolutionary when he joined the team. Football had changed so much during his 23 years and it was time for a change.
Emery wasn't the answer, but here's hoping Arteta is.
@@erdembayrak4449 idk. it seemed like things got worse when they tried to force him to change. the season Leicester won arsenal were on the brink, if not for cazrola's injury they might've won it. the level of consistency he achieved cannot be understated. look at the teams now, can you honestly say that any of them will finish top 4 for the next 20 years?
Both wright and Henry said best teammate is bergkamp...
Life without Tea is not a Life worth Living ha ha!
Holt do be looking different though
Wenger is peerless.
We had a Drill Instructor that stated his Unit The Renegades, were not allowed deserts or soda. Soooo we didn't touch it. Until someone complained like a child to the Command. Command gave a notice, our DI read it out. But he said, I said "Renegades" are not allowed. Never said you weren't.
So we all went down later for chow and after 8 weeks of no Soda or Sugar....we all walked past it. We won best Drill Instructor at Graduation. We didn't win anything else, because a few of our team mates acted like children. They failed to get in the Military thank god.
Lol, he has a good friend.
Imagine dennis bergkamp guilting you out of having a cup of tea.
Certain man think they can disrespect wenger and they think they know more about football than him! us as fans, only see the games, the coach knows each player, how they train, their motivations and vices
Is that Captain Holt?
I honestly think Bergy was messing with Wright....must-have held in that straight face when giving that lecture lol.
This is so dam funny and a lesson too lol
Graham an Arsenal fan or something?? I know he had Beckham on and Hamilton as well but he doesn't generally do sportspeople. Now he's had two Arsenal legends on in the space of a few months 😂
God Bergkamp is so vanilla lol
love this guy in the matrix
Wonder what some of the playboy players of the 70s wold make of this!!
He's got unfinished business. The statue can wait.
From 2007 onwards he must have let the team drink tea.
Okay, now I know how to pronounce his name.
Tony Adams complained the most but he benefitted the most. Arsene Wenger increased Adams playing career by 3 years.
It would have been fun, if a full form arsene Wenger managed arsenal right now.
One can do all the agenda he wants, in Wengers sunset days the most one can joke about, is that no 4 position is for arsenal. 3 yrs he's been gone, for once arsenal didn't look like theyll finish in top 4.
Some might say he was doing naugh-tea things.
Dennis was gonna rat out Wrighty...
Isn't plain tea good for you? Or with milk but no sugar?
Tea is a stimulant
Arsene Wenger. The man whom arsenal fans protested and wanted him sacked bad. Finally forced him out and now so many people here saying legend legend.
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
No wonder Arsene still regrets not getting the GOAT back then! Because who could better follow his dietary restriction than CR7! I think CR7 with arsenal back then would win a lot more than he did with saf and utd
Wenger must be a typical French hating on English tea-drinking culture.
Why you stereotyping French people? Seen you accusing white British people of all being racist but it seems to me you're the racist.
you can't stand between an englishmen and his tea !!
