I was blessed to visit your beautiful country when I was a child in 1968. When I had to go home after only 3 months, I declared just before boarding the plane at the top of the stairs, “I’ll be back England!" And so began my love affair with England! I have yet to keep my promise to myself but I know I will do so. Oh, to be at Glastonbury at Beltane! Blessed be 🎉🥳🦋

Why would the 'Celtic' fire festival of Beltane - and its association with the movement of livestock to the high summer pastures - be celebrated in leafy English Glastonbury?

because beltane can be celebrated anywhere in the world by whoever chooses to, its associations run much deeper than the moving of livestock to higher pastures, it is a celebration of summer and fertility for the year to come, and with glastonbury being such a beautiful part of the country with such a high number of pagan and spiritual people there its no surprise that their celebrations for the festival are so extravagant 😊

Looks like a mashup of every pagan and cod pagan trope imaginable to me.
And I suppose 'Beltane / Bealtaine' has more of a neo-pagan ring to it than May Day - no matter how historically inappropriate.
Still, everyone is having a nice time and that's the main thing.
