    Kanoa’s silver medal win is unique because of his background. He not only represents Japan, but he also represents so many more people beyond Japan.

      He represents his city In the US too, as a surfer your real country won’t be, your real home it ain’t a big country but the beach where your surf, the waves are your home and that’s the reason you do not need a flag to represent people, that’s the reason I love and live by surfing

      Don't, understand dual citizenship!? That's why, ?! Kinda like the athletes who have trained in America, and represent their country, and they lived, grew skills from colleges and American universities.track,and almost every event.

    • @Yasco-de-Jp
      @Yasco-de-Jp Před 2 lety +7

      Actually Japan doesn’t allow dual citizenship. So from the fact he represents Japan in Olympics, he only has Japanese citizenship and doesn’t have US citizenship. Thus he cannot represent USA. Only those Japanese kids who were born and raised in the US can hold dual citizenship until age 21 that’s when Japanese government forces those kids to choose either one of those two citizenships. He is 22 now so he clearly chose Japanese citizenship.
