After that, I’d write a will leaving everything to my favorite charities. No way my abusive relative would get a cent.

The laws are of course different everywhere but where i live you must give certain relatives a minimum amount so they don't have grounds to contest the will in a court.

Like @KohakuB said that's risky, and leaves a cracked door. In this situation I would give it away if I had a chance before my passing. That way there's nothing left to contest.

Daughter changed drastically after getting married. If a spouse dies without a will everything goes to the spouse. Her husband changed her. Glad u sold everything & left to another place. I read some people r saying get a restraining order. Technically they don’t work. By the time an officer gets to u the person is gone. My daughter had several & they never worked.

At the very least, a restraining order is documentation. Should you need it, there's a paper trail of complaints. And while it may not do anything in the moment, it sets up consequences for them for coming near you. They can go to prison for violating it.

Exactly! I wonder if the daughter is in a narcissistic relationship since she was a good person before.

I would leave her 50$ when I pasted so she couldn't try to go to court to get more and leave all the rest to a number of charities is it that was me and in most states 50$ is the lowest u can give someone in a will to where they cant dispute it in court

Considering *ONE* terraced house in London sells for almost a million, then it wouldn't take too much doing in certain areas.

So what OP really mean is OP husband was a financial abusor that kept OP in constant near broke status to control and manipulate her, and the daughter, tired to be also abuse, escaped asap from her abuser and her doormat mother. Then when her abuser died she try to get retribution from her abuser enabler mom, but the mom refused and took everything for herself.
      Does that sound better?
