Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley Impersonate Each Other

  • Did you know that Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash used to impersonate each other.
The rare footage included dates back to a 1959 tour. Cash was the opening act; Presley, the headliner; and each night, "Cash would impersonate his friend and touring partner, and then Elvis would come out and do the same. An audio recording of Presley imitating Johnny Cash at the International Hotel showroom in Las Vegas is also included.
Unfortunately, there is no video footage available of Elvis performing his impressive impressions of Johnny Cash. However, an expressive audio performance of Elvis Live onstage in Las Vegas is included. Only the select few who attended were fortunate enough to view this spectacular spectacle.
Special thanks to DJ Dallas for inspiring me to make this video and researching the rare footage!!

Yes. When you come in on the third verse, etc. Unbelievable, he knew what he wanted and how he could possibly find this bad note or someone coming in late or a half a bar early is mind blowing, he was like an engineer in the booth, without the controls of the booth.

Elvis also could sing like many, many other recording artists such as Pat Boone.Remember, Elvis himself had 50 different singing voices of his own
Elvis impersonation was more difficult to do than Johnny's.Johnny never could have sung like Elvis.Elvis had a much bigger octave range of 4 to 5.Elvis was a comedian and could do a funny imitation if he prefered. They were friends.Johnny was the opening act for Elvis in the Louisiana Hayride in '55 .

@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic Hey Man, I know this outta the blue clear sky, but I had it on my mind, One of Elvis`s relentless, constant internal and mental struggles that was like a cancer in his own mind, was this incredibly deep, deep devotion to his fans and secondly though no less important, his almost compulsive feeling of guilt over all of his accolades and wealth, all the gifts that he was receiving and he was doin a Kristofferson I guess? Why Me? He never felt deserving, ELVIS, always felt that he owed us something because of his appreciation and all the admiration. He didnt owe us a damn thing in my estimation, however you just could not get him to embrace that belief. Its tough, when an obsession or whatever your diagnosis is, has got ya and it just flat wont let go. He owed us? Unbelievable, and the bad side of irony

They were both ridiculously talented at mimicking sounds, but what is not talked about enough is how very funny both Elvis and Johnny Cash were. I realized long ago that much of their allure was in the fact that they never took themselves too seriously, despite their fanatical fans. Most of the time, they were laughing at the implausibility of their reality. The comedic talent they were given was just overkill for two guys with such musical talent.
