I'm not very good at kanji so this helped me see where I'm at. I can recognise most words using the kanji but I don't remember the specific strokes used. I guess I should practice my handwriting then :)

Days of the week tripped me up 😅 I'm used to seeing those words as three kanji, so when I saw hiragana in the middle I tried to use a different reading, hehe.

I know what you mean about the kanji for the days of the week.☺ I follow the usage of the JLPT official practice book for N5 and used 〇よう日 in this video, but in the real life, we don't see 〇よう日 version, でしょう？💦

honestly, it's very easy, i can understand >95% of the vocabulary despite not learning japanese in any way but from anime.
the problem is the writing system making it unreasonable too hard.

I understand that the writing system, especially Kanji, is very challenging.
I'm quite impressed that you got that much of vocabulary from anime, so how about learning the meanings of Kanji characters? That might help. But Kanji IS challenging anyways.. 😅

It’s just the pronunciation that trips me up 😭 because I always read it using a Chinese pronunciation (if that makes sense?)
Sometimes my students who speak Chinese tell me the same thing.😅 Japanese kanji and Chinese kanji are so different, aren't they? がんばってください❣
This is really helpful, but just a suggestion, maybe also put all translation in words, not just pictures? Like 'father' will be confusing if it's just a picture.
Just look it up in a Japanese-English dictionary. She’s providing the hiragana. Just type it in.

The levels don’t make sense. None of these are any more or less “difficult” than the others (unless you need to remember how to hand write them). It just depends on the order you’ve learned them in.

The difficulty in this video is actually not only in the kanji themselves but also in vocabulary aspects (Hiragana spelling, for example). But it's not very clear, desune.😅
