    In today's Vintage Series I'll be showcasing some of my favorite black, vintage watches from Casio. I'm constantly amazed at how many models of Casio vintage watches there are. I'm always finding new watches that I've never seen before. In this "Black Edition" video I'll show you these unique and interesting vintage watches:
    ► Casio F-12
    A classic Casio digital watch in mint condition considered to be the grandfather of the F-91W.
    ► Casio AQ-30W
    A fun, digital analog hybrid with an attractive dial and 50 meters of water resistance.
    ► Casio DW-200
    A classic Casio Marlin watch featuring the sailfish logo and 200 meters of water resistance.
    Let me know below in the comments what your favorite vintage watch is from Casio. I've got a "Silver Edition" coming up soon as well. Be sure to click the link down below to check out the history of Casio Marlin watches. Enjoy!

    The Casio simple digitals are amazing. Something that looks totally disposable, but lasts for decades. My impression is that the more a person goes WIS, the higher the appreciation to Casio digitals 😁

      If you want a 200m WR Casio that isn't a G-Shock, check out the AE-2000 and DW-291H series. They're pretty chunky but only half the price of a basic DW-5600.

    Since 1983, I've had a W-24a Marlin. Everything works on it, and the original strap, inner and outer boxes are still with it. It's been retired from daily driver duty since the late 90s, but I do wear it on occasion, to bring back that 80s nostalgia.

I had to have one……..I got the hero, DW5200 later that year. (Should have sourced a few DW5000 at the time, I’d be rich now) it’s still going great guns now, 37 years later! Thanks for the video.

    The case of DW-200 looks almost the same as this of nowadays W-215H, except the inverted layout of the buttons. May be the last one is produced using the same cast. Of course, DW-215H has more features and looks cooler.

    • @SetoPerrier
      @SetoPerrier Před 4 lety

      childrolland - yes the W-215H is roughly based on the look of the DW-200 series, but is made of inferior shiny plastics compared to the high quality matte black material of the Marlin. The classic DW-200 is also waterproof to 200m whilst the DW-215H is only waterproof to 50m. As the proud owner of the rare vintage original DW-200 Marlin I can assure you the W-215H does not come anywhere close to being in the same league and is simply a tacky and disappointing imitation of an absolute legend.

    Wow these watches are tiny, they'll look a bit ridiculous on anything but a small childs wrist.

      Yeah this was back in the day before there were 52mm G-Shocks. Small watches were more stylish.

    Why do you call the Duro "marlin"? That's obviously not a Marlin. It's a sailfish. The Marlin's dorsal fin peaks just above its head and tapers down drastically from there. The sailfish is what's portrayed on the front and back of the Duro.

    Retro...I'd go with retro, not vintage.
