The teacher here 😋 Thank you for noticing Yichen and my video! 😁
I would love to get in touch with you, I play this caprice original bowing since age 11, played it at Nutcracker competition
Wow, you teach a Ling-Ling!
Great job, much appreciated ❤
@@intan99999 I since listened to Timur's playing, he is an amazing soloist himself! Great teacher and great violinist!
hey youre a pretty good violinist yourself
Well done!
"for every child prodigy you know about, at least 50 potential ones have burned out before you even heard about them" --Itzhak Perlman
Yep, unfortunately a very small proportion of prodigies end up having an exceptional musical career. Past a certain age, most of them disappear from radars. It's sad...
@@MissTwoSetEncyclopediamaybe it’s not always sad, some of them may choose a different career path and end up somewhere else. Although I’m sure some of them have tragic stories about lost dreams and wasted potential
Totally agree. I saw this sort of thing in sports (track and field).
@@MissTwoSetEncyclopedia This s because success in children's competitions depends on accurate following of the set of exact teacher's instructions, so it is like tetris. For being an adult soloist, what is required is to create the music on the spot, be able to sound different each time, depending on the occasion. It is a different set of skills.
@@mime514 Yesss... but whose wasted dreams, the kids' or the parents'?
The saddest part of childhood prodigy, to me, is the loss of childhood.
Man, the disappointed face of brett when he realized he is not a 12 year old prodigy
i know right
Brett's always looking like he needs a good hug.
@@astroworfcraig9164 I volunteer to give a friendly Teddy bear hug to Brett. 🧸🩵
And to Eddy too, no jealousy 🧸💙
I think Brett was more upset for not being 12 anymore rather than not being a prodigy
Who isn't 😂
@@xandraxandra1437 good old times, when summers lasted forever and christmas meant something magical instead of stress
Brett is spot on: most people (myself included) don't understand the complexity of such playing. I just don't know how hard it is. That's why I watch you guys: so you can explain it to me and I can appreciate it. Thanks for that!
Exactly!
I can explain: it is not too hard, but general violin learning in total is hard. Some people have their fingers just running, especially left handed.
Ikr?!
8:36 Can we talk about how sweet and wholesome this photo is…they have been friends for around 18 years!!!
RIGHTTTT THEY ARE SO CUTE
They've been friends for more than half of their lives, that's so awesome when you think about it.
They're so small!
i teared up i hope they’re friends forever
Came here to say this ... love their friendship ... TwoSet forever!
Twoset should react to YoEun playing Erlkönig..It's INSANE.
Their self esteem will disappear though
@@sofiabosco7892what self esteem? It disappeared years ago
True 🥲 @@kungpaochicken89
Its good not insane. She has the feeling mostly right but misses a lot of notes; if anything its a good start but not excellent by any means. She simply practices a lot.
@brandonstinson4988 prodigies = talent + practice. Normal people can't get there even with 40hr a day practising
I will never forget when I was 17 there was an 8 year old prodigy at my piano recital. I said to my mom that I wished I could play that well when I was 8 and she responded “can you even play that well now?”
Damn
Yikes! 😅
Sounds like she met my mom. Damn.
R I P
Geez mom! 😭💀
Twoset: analyzing his bowing, his dynamic, his techniques; me: wow that's fast😅. Twoset is here to teach me how to appreciate LingLing's playing! Love it!
8:35 eddy looked so cute as a kid
Eddy looks even cuter *now* :)
Thanks for incorporating us non-violinists more. Really appreciate the technique explanation.
i love how their reactions haven't changed in four years 😂😂 they still look like this: 😮
for those wondering, the video they reacted to is titled
"Paganini Caprice 5 original bowing by a 12 year old - Luo Yichen" :))
Thx, was looking for that!
That's the only video I could find of him. I googled his name and he lives in China, which would explain why he isn't on CZcams.
But I saw that he has been selected to participate in the next edition of the Grumiaux Violin Competition (who takes place in Belgium), so hopefully we'll know more about this young man in a couple of months.
They could link the original video...
I'd really like to see Brett learn this piece with the original bowing! I'm sure he'd slay it!
and there goes my pride as a musician... if you can be humbled slowly, you can he humbled quickly
Ah yes my favorite episode of Children making me depressed
ah yes my favorete cheese🧀
My favorite kind of TwoSet video, where they really explain how something occurs on the violin! As a non-violinist I really appreciate it 🙂
Your step by step explanation of the bowing and what makes it both complex and difficult really added to my appreciation of his performance
You're doing so much more for humanity than if you were professional soloists. You're educating, entertaining, and inspiring people all at the same time. (I started violin because of you.) GO TWOSET!
I've started practicing daily again like I did when I was a music minor many years ago. Thankfully I got into med school and have since finished and gone through residency and fellowship. I was talking with one of my Neurology colleagues who played piano and was also a music minor and we are going to get back to our highest levels and try to push beyond. You guys and this kid inspire me to stretch my limitations further and go outside my comfort zone. Maybe I'll even find a teacher and see if they can help.
Go for it!
Two videos in one week??? They are spoiling us!
Thank you for spreading the love of classical music. You helped me realise it's beauty and start playing again. You are the hero for millions; even if you aren't professional soloists, you have done more than that. Keep spreading the love!
At this point, I've learnt more about violin on this channel than I ever would anywhere else. Luo Yichen played so amazingly, and he definitely deserves more recognition 😆😆
it's a good day when twosetviolin uploads a new vid
When I was 12, I was watching the first Transformers movie everyday until I was able to recite the entire movie’s script by heart.
4:35 new meme template is born
LOL
"You're not 12 Brett, it's not you" this is so cruel😢
Love this commentary. Your passion for the music remains stellar.
So impressive... and I like how you explain things so that even someone who doesn't play the violin (like me) can understand. Thanks for this video
Twoset is uploading a lot these days!…and I’m not complaining…
Thorough excellence & mabe even the ultimate in excellence. What's not to appreciate ? You guys make an excellent point!
I like how the young player was so calm and relaxed throughout his performance.
That boy made a deal with the devil down at the cross roads
For every like this comment gets I will do 30 mins of practice
Prodigy=hard works and endless practices.
Talent+hard work+best teachers+parents willing to spend huge amount of money and time
thank you guys for always making me go practice it's legit a blessing
Hi Brett and Eddy, thanks for updating recently! Your vids are really great for a break from school on friday night.
As always, I love the explanations and break-down of the music. And your rapport and engagement always make my day. Thank you Brett and Eddy. ❤️
8:53 Dont look at me! I have practiced!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I hope you're well and can't wait to see you in Manchester!!
I used to watch you guys when I was in highschool. Now I’m in college studying criminal justice and I’m still watching you guys. I love you guys and what you bring to CZcams. Keep it up!!
You two are inspiration to two young violinists well known to me at a local school. I love that.
If you can find a prodigy slowly, you can find a prodigy quickly😂(and you will get emotional damage more often at the same time lol
0.M.G. LOLLL!!
I love how you're teaching us non-musicians technicals.. learning a lot.. ❤❤❤
Guys I love you honestly but always looking at the background and trying to see what is there 😂
Great analysis!
Yes, it's about practice but about practising smart, not hard. Finding out what you are doing wrong and correcting it, being efficient and not repeating over and over your mistakes. Those who become child "prodigies" are the kids who have good teachers and good intuition, no miracles here. You can advance faster if you evaluate constantly what you are doing right and what wrong and correcting it.
Thank you! It does not include quantity, just quality! My teacher always gives me critical tips and tells me that I should practice in an efficient and technical way, not for many hours. I get more distinctions in Rcm and more success this way.
I was actually rewatching you guys reacting to your childhood performances 😂
Wonderful Video, loved the chopin etudes as background music xD
at 12 years old i was playing with pokemon cards
miss ya'll Ling Ling 40 hrs subreddit, not saying I'm not respecting their choice, but I still miss it.
Real
what choice?
@@stepha.796 to not review ling ling 40hrs anymore

I know it's two days before your birthday, but incase I miss it, Happy Birthday Brett!!!🎂🎻
his left hand is so effortlessly relaxed, amazing
lets go the best music channel is back making epic content
The world is so competitive, it's crazy. Nice video, guys! Keep up the good work 💪
Another day. another Ling Ling
Eyyyy another video
SO GLAD THE ORGINAL TWOSET VIDEO STYEL ARE BACK
Bro’s the definition of *“there’s always an Asian better than you”*
Eddy’s lofi fits surprisingly well in all the “prodigy making me depressed” moments
My first Twoset video was of you reviewing the three year little girl playing The Witch is Dead, etc. and you two shrieking your heads off ! 😅😅😅😅
Brett and Eddy’s reaction when they realise they’re not 12 😂❤
(8:23) YT video title is " Paganini Caprice 5 original bowing by a 12 year old - Luo Yichen"
Yaaaaaay twoset violin❤
I know it’s a few days early but HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT :D
What if two set released Saint saens carnival of the animals apparel? That’d be so cool! I’d buy the swan instantly. 😊
What a lovely start for weekend. TSV's friday upload ❤
Ily twosetviola
2:25 Their face😂 I would make that face too to be honest
I've been gone so long that they've gotten a new backdrop/room. It looks nice! (I want those shelves)
Well, since it’s Brett’s bday, I’m finna comment this on EVERY SINGLE TWOSET VIDEO. Happy Birthday Brett!
So, I'd love to learn about the teachers of these prodigies. There's something to be said about them too
can we just acknowledge how much Brett and Eddy have been posting lately?
Eddie slumping into a crisis as Mahlers Adagietto plays in the background is so relatable.
Don’t forget there’s an infant better than that 12 year old
Happy Birthday Brett! 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊
Happy Birthday Brett! 🎂🧋
I’m shocked that they are surprised by anything anymore😂
It'd be great for you guys to react to prodigies of other instruments (like cello for example)!! Would be even better if you can get someone who plays that instrument to explain how hard it truly is!! Great vid btw :))
If only i could go back in time and rethink my life
You guys should really check out swedish traditional choirs! :D
The views of this prodigy's gonna shoot up to 40'000 immediately.
40,000 for 40 hours of practice.
Paganini Caprice 5 original bowing by a 12 year old - Luo Yichen
Let me just say that Eddy and Brett y'all are great composes too! You all still practice 40 hours a day, and thats what counts!!
im feeling so spoiled with all these uploads;-;
Self esteem at the start: 5 stars! At the end: -50 stars
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETTTTTT
Ok... I'll practice
The VIOLA
Ling ling can only bestow his grace on selected, talented prodigies.....the rest of us...PRACTICE!!!!
“You’re in my domain”
I would love to see Chloe Chua back on the channel. God bless guys
OG video now 2.7k views. As a non-string player, I really enjoyed this reaction/analysis.
You know, I think there’s something to be said for NOT being a prodigy. Does this kid ever get to play video games or meet with friends? I hope so. Nothing wrong with “only” being talented violinists and CZcams stars, Eddy and Brett!!! 🙂
If Brett and Eddy had been prodigies, they wouldn't have been able to become such good friends. And there wouldn't be Twoset Violin. That would be a real loss to the world.. There are enough prodigies, but only one Twoset Violin. So I'm happy they are who they are :)
Twosetviolin please 🙏react on Mozart in the Jungle
i swear to god the standards are getting so much higher. when I was twelve...
I love prodigies
*eddie tried playing*
“Oh niiice… but he’s 12🫥”
That could have been me, if only I was born in China... in a wealthy family... and had practiced forty hours daily...
I am UK born, my family is not wealthy, I played this caprice first time at 11, I practice less than 40 hs :)
He is the definition of Ling Ling
Can’t believe I know this prodigy😂😂
