These issues are really just scratching the surface. Besides this, you correctly mentioned an incredibly toxic developer community, which is true to a pretty wide extent. Their APIs, servers and other services are so frequently down that you can almost schedule after it. Eventual fail every now and then is obviously to be expected, but it's really infuriating when it's every 3rd week that you experience a server shutdown as a developer. It's come to the point where I so often regret just not choosing Unity instead, it would have been so much easier. All the while more & more people join into the Roblox dev world thinking it's profitable/fun, when in reality it's damn hard to even enter into the competition, let alone stand out. Roblox has become a shitshow by now, and their PR disasters are just a part of it, it's obvious that they don't give two shits about it. Get your shit together, Roblox.

@@erikbregnsbo9962 Lua (Luau) is a really simple language there's nothing special about it, any other language is significantly easier to pick up once you're experienced with it, unless you make monthly income (in dollars) I don't think it would be too hard for you to just switch I've used unity myself before, it has a really beginner-friendly (and significantly more intuitive than studio) system for managing objects, you can make really cool shit in a short timespan also you haven't mentioned the job market, it's a complete joke, finding talented/dedicated people is next to impossible and unless you're on the front page, there is 0 hope of hiring anyone full-time with how much roblox pays

@@p_owlow Not always, unfortunately. Charlie can still attract some bad attention when he messes up once in a while. For example, there is that one video on his channel about a streamer friend of his being "harassed by DayZ veterans" because some guy apparently jumped out of a bush and killed him in that same game in an RP oriented server, when in reality the guy simply happened to be around a bush when he came up to the streamer for the kill. That "DayZ veteran" was banned from the server and he sometime later published a video on CZcams showing footage of him clearly not hiding behind the bush when he came up to that streamer, proving that the he should've never been banned. The worst part is that Charlie still didn't acknowledge it in full, by saying along the lines of "I dunno, I was simply told by the guy that he got jumped" on stream once and that's it. There's also a more minor moment where he said Battlefield 2042 was good and it only needed a bit of patching to make it work better since it had "a few issues" back when he talked about it on his moist meter, when in reality the game was actually in a really bad state, to the point where many did not enjoy it and saw it as a complete regression from the past games. It took him until this month to release a video where he admitted that the game is way worse than he initially thought and that it's most likely not gonna be fixed. Despite that, I still like watching Charlie, because he makes great content and is overall a good guy. That doesn't mean that he is perfect, no one is, but it's alright to make a mistake. His charisma and intelligence steer him out of trouble well, but everyone ends up there all the same at some point. He is just as human as any other guy on the planet, so I don't hold anything against him and just enjoy the content.

It sounds simple on paper but everyone needs to remember that Roblox is a corporation that is worth over 40 billion dollars, and they will have no problem dropping millions on lawyers to professionally bs their way through the trial. Ruben Sim never called this guy out, but there’s this one Roblox CZcamsr named “Fave” who’s been a pretty popular figure in the Roblox community since 2007, and has recently been exposed last September for grooming minors through his own PUBLIC DISCORD and getting them to send him explicit images through Snapchat. Basically preying on his young fans that looked up to him. As you would guess, Roblox refused to de-platform this guy and so did Discord. So his admins decided to take the initiative to close his Discord server (which was still partnered.) and close his Roblox group and take all of his Roblox clothing assets off-sale WHICH HE WAS STILL MAKING MONEY OFF OF. And as of writing this, his Roblox account and games are all still up. So despite being inactive for several months now, he still has the ability to come back to an online platform mainly used by minors even though being a known predator.

Its actually insane how rampant praying upon children is on roblox, ive seen friends, friends of friends and almost even myself fall victim to some predator on roblox. We know that roblox wouldnt do anything so there was hope that at least the head developer of a very big game with 6M+ users in their group would do something, where not one but two of their developers/mods were full on pedo's praying on and getting illegal material from the games underage members. The head developer sat on his ass for far too long before taking action and removing them from the team. Its so infuriating

It's sad in this day and age that corporations are this greedy and incompetent to not help anyone who is being abused or exploited when its their site that they giving access to perform these inhumane acts. I wouldn't be surprised if lawsuits started piling against Roblox for their unwillingness to help prevent these predators. I was once almost in the situation with an online predator when I was a kid and there was nothing back then to protect you. I was lucky the creator of the game I was playing said something and spread the word to anyone affected.
I remember seeing a Ruben Sim vid where he was explaining how ROBLOX took down his games for "blood/gore" which violates their rules but also ROBLOX has officially promoted a game called Bloodfest which had more blood and gore, not to mention the countless other games which also have it.

I think this case should spawn a case against Roblox. Their stance was that they wouldn't punish off site behavior, which I feel they should protect them from blame if someone does something off their site without being punished; after all, they did say they don't punish off site activity. Now, however, they've shown they Do punish off site activity, meaning they should now be held accountable for the stuff people have done off their site. They shouldn't be allowed to just pick and choose whenever it's convenient for them.

It's hard to deny that in the near future america will be going through harder times, and I think people are realizing the games that media/politicians play. Ones the game's over, there are no rules. This sounds like conspiracy talk but I see it as necessary to talk about what could happen if government were to collapse, there's so many different bubbles and economic issues piling on, not to mention global and local environmental issues and supply chain issues, and you have a recipe for the spiciest chapter of America's history. We should discuss this stuff to at least have an idea of how things will go.

These issues are really just scratching the surface. Besides this, you correctly mentioned an incredibly toxic developer community, which is true to a pretty wide extent. Their APIs, servers and other services are so frequently down that you can almost schedule after it. Eventual fail every now and then is obviously to be expected, but it's really infuriating when it's every 3rd week that you experience a server shutdown as a developer.
It's come to the point where I so often regret just not choosing Unity instead, it would have been so much easier. All the while more & more people join into the Roblox dev world thinking it's profitable/fun, when in reality it's damn hard to even enter into the competition, let alone stand out.
Roblox has become a shitshow by now, and their PR disasters are just a part of it, it's obvious that they don't give two shits about it. Get your shit together, Roblox.
The only reason I'm stuck developing on roblox is because my crappy laptop can't handle anything else let alone any slightly above average game

I've used unity myself before, it has a really beginner-friendly (and significantly more intuitive than studio) system for managing objects, you can make really cool shit in a short timespan

@@p_owlow Not always, unfortunately. Charlie can still attract some bad attention when he messes up once in a while. For example, there is that one video on his channel about a streamer friend of his being "harassed by DayZ veterans" because some guy apparently jumped out of a bush and killed him in that same game in an RP oriented server, when in reality the guy simply happened to be around a bush when he came up to the streamer for the kill. That "DayZ veteran" was banned from the server and he sometime later published a video on CZcams showing footage of him clearly not hiding behind the bush when he came up to that streamer, proving that the he should've never been banned. The worst part is that Charlie still didn't acknowledge it in full, by saying along the lines of "I dunno, I was simply told by the guy that he got jumped" on stream once and that's it.
There's also a more minor moment where he said Battlefield 2042 was good and it only needed a bit of patching to make it work better since it had "a few issues" back when he talked about it on his moist meter, when in reality the game was actually in a really bad state, to the point where many did not enjoy it and saw it as a complete regression from the past games. It took him until this month to release a video where he admitted that the game is way worse than he initially thought and that it's most likely not gonna be fixed.
Despite that, I still like watching Charlie, because he makes great content and is overall a good guy. That doesn't mean that he is perfect, no one is, but it's alright to make a mistake. His charisma and intelligence steer him out of trouble well, but everyone ends up there all the same at some point. He is just as human as any other guy on the planet, so I don't hold anything against him and just enjoy the content.

Ruben Sim never called this guy out, but there’s this one Roblox CZcamsr named “Fave” who’s been a pretty popular figure in the Roblox community since 2007, and has recently been exposed last September for grooming minors through his own PUBLIC DISCORD and getting them to send him explicit images through Snapchat. Basically preying on his young fans that looked up to him. As you would guess, Roblox refused to de-platform this guy and so did Discord. So his admins decided to take the initiative to close his Discord server (which was still partnered.) and close his Roblox group and take all of his Roblox clothing assets off-sale WHICH HE WAS STILL MAKING MONEY OFF OF. And as of writing this, his Roblox account and games are all still up. So despite being inactive for several months now, he still has the ability to come back to an online platform mainly used by minors even though being a known predator.

Its actually insane how rampant praying upon children is on roblox, ive seen friends, friends of friends and almost even myself fall victim to some predator on roblox.
We know that roblox wouldnt do anything so there was hope that at least the head developer of a very big game with 6M+ users in their group would do something, where not one but two of their developers/mods were full on pedo's praying on and getting illegal material from the games underage members. The head developer sat on his ass for far too long before taking action and removing them from the team. Its so infuriating

There should be more content creators speaking up about this issue on all platforms. Companies like Roblox rely on peoples' short memories. The more we talk about it, the more accountability they have to take
The problem is, roblox knows this will be an issue. So to counter that, roblox gives money to big youtubers in the form of the star creator program. This makes the youtubers not want to speak up because who would want to bite the hand that feeds them.

Recently star creators are saying they've starting to lose money from star codes, and star creators are starting to say it isn't even worth being a star creator anymore. I feel bad since a lot of them filter what they say because they have a legal contract with roblox. I hope other star creators start sticking up for roblox

It's sad in this day and age that corporations are this greedy and incompetent to not help anyone who is being abused or exploited when its their site that they giving access to perform these inhumane acts. I wouldn't be surprised if lawsuits started piling against Roblox for their unwillingness to help prevent these predators. I was once almost in the situation with an online predator when I was a kid and there was nothing back then to protect you. I was lucky the creator of the game I was playing said something and spread the word to anyone affected.

I remember seeing a Ruben Sim vid where he was explaining how ROBLOX took down his games for "blood/gore" which violates their rules but also ROBLOX has officially promoted a game called Bloodfest which had more blood and gore, not to mention the countless other games which also have it.

I think this case should spawn a case against Roblox.
Their stance was that they wouldn't punish off site behavior, which I feel they should protect them from blame if someone does something off their site without being punished; after all, they did say they don't punish off site activity.
Now, however, they've shown they Do punish off site activity, meaning they should now be held accountable for the stuff people have done off their site.
They shouldn't be allowed to just pick and choose whenever it's convenient for them.
They can though remember they are the ones with all the money. This beautiful land of the free we live in you can rape and murder someone and get away with it if you have enough money. Sad as fuck.

It's hard to deny that in the near future america will be going through harder times, and I think people are realizing the games that media/politicians play. Ones the game's over, there are no rules. This sounds like conspiracy talk but I see it as necessary to talk about what could happen if government were to collapse, there's so many different bubbles and economic issues piling on, not to mention global and local environmental issues and supply chain issues, and you have a recipe for the spiciest chapter of America's history. We should discuss this stuff to at least have an idea of how things will go.

And that's exactly why there should be laws protecting people from these SLAPP (Stragetic Lawsuite Against Public Participation) suites so that companies can't just bleed people dry and "scare" others from speaking up by just having vastly more resources to sue with.
