    How is it this guy only has 459 subscribers? The quality of the video is amazing!

    This whole build has been great, I have enjoyed every moment of it.

    Fantastic work, camera angles, and synth. I would pay for tutorial videos like this that detail every step by step with narration on how to do these tasks. As an owner of a '93 850ci, this makes it possible for anyone that is somewhat mechanically inclined to dig in and do this work themselves. Would love to see a list in the video description of parts/part numbers used as I would like to mimic your videos. Thanks again! 😎

    Nice work. Few tips though... on the lower pan, always remove any bolt puckering on the holes from previous techs not using proper torque - and do NOT use sealant, as it actually breaks the cork. Kudos on the zip tie method too, not many know that one. Also, as you've likely figured out already, putting the water pump back on before the harmonic balancer is a good idea ;) . The Valley pan gasket & bolts... chase all the threads with a thread chasing tap, replace the studs, and use a thread sealant (not locker) on all of them - especially the studs. The Valve covers use acorn nuts on most all of the studs except the ones that have the rubber stand-off to the manifolds or fuel return lines.
    I've built these engines for over 20 years... M70's, S70's, & 6 Liter sleeved monsters. They are super reliable when done correctly.

      Thank you very much for your advice. This is my first car restoration, I could use any tips. And if you see something I'm not doing right, feel free to let me know.

    Very nice car to restore. Looks good. I am currently restoring an F30 335i but it's not as old.

    It's sad to see that exceptional work without thousands of viewers. I love the music but I think it would be better if you explain the torque of the bolts and the things that you do to restore the car. I believe that those simple things could help to improve your channel. Thanks for your content from Spain.

      Thanks for the advice. This is the first car I'm restoring and I'm not a car mechanic. That's why I don't explain the torque value. I don't want to accidentally post the wrong data. But maybe in the future, when I improve my skills. I'm just learning and if someone can make use of it, I'm happy. Best regards Stefan

    Thanks for sharing! I did my 850 M70 about a year ago, it brings back fond memories. These cars are great to work on even for a newbie like me. So many oil, pentosin, coolant hoses to replace! I don’t know the condition of your valve seals, but that would have been a perfect time to replace them if needed. I used the compressed air method and it was quite methodical and relaxing to do the job. I wrote down the order of steps to do each intake and exhaust seal before doing the task to be sure I didn’t screw up. Nice rims on your car.

      Thank you for your comment. I'm a newbie too. The engine has not been started for 12 years. I do not know the condition of the valve seals, I would be happy to start it first 🙂

    Last question for you. Which workshop manual do you refer to in order to find torque specs on all the engine bolts?

  • @rjjablo
    @rjjablo Před rokem

    Did you put a dab of RTV or Reinsoil at the mating surface for the head and the timing cover and also at the back?
