    Hi all. This is Christopher Schenkel, President of Beaver Dam Argo Inc. , and this is NOT a fake profile like at least 5 of the ones cluttering up the place here.Let’s clear the air a bit. This is my video. I am the guy out there in the “Argo Bog of Death,” demonstrating the Escargo tracks. The 700 Avenger I am using, I actually purchased from Adair Argo, when we used to work together as good little Argo dealers. Tim Schaeffer and I used to talk shop daily on the phone, and in person, advancing the cause to make everyone’s Argo experience better. I used to promote and sell the Adair tracks, but when my rental units kept coming back with the tracks in the back seat, I had to find a better solution. I purchased a set of Escargo tracks, tracks that changed everything I knew about Argos and their truly amazing ability. I became the Exclusive Rep for Escargo in the USA. What a track! I am the guy you see in other videos climbing in and out of broken shelf ice, in total control. Those are my 4” welded steel spacers on Buzz’s Mudd-Ox, if I am not mistaken. Oh, I used to get them from Adair, but we wanted them laser cut so we didn’t have to grind them to fit. Now Adair will tell you that they are “Too heavy, and hard on your Argo.” Just more Bull Sh`t from the Adair “bash everybody else,” marketing strategy. What Buzz is saying is exactly the truth about the Escargo tracks. You will likely never get stuck with them, unless you get into deep snow, where you would want to add a snow kit. The current Escargo tracks have been lightened by spacing the crossers farther apart. The Escargo guys feel this will give the track better traction as well. My fear with this is that the additional spacing may not provide enough “platform,” causing the track to become unstable. I begged and begged them to go 50/50 with UHMW and continue with the elevated belt. Well, I met with so much resistance from them about it, that we built the Beaver Dam Hybrid track. Our track retains the elevated belt design so they won’t fall off like Adair tracks, yet still have the “Grip of Steel,” and at a much lower weight. And price. The Argo Bog of Death has no chance now. The Beaver Dam Tracks, are available in full UHMW, all steel, or a Hybrid mix of, actually, whatever percentage of steel to UHMW the customer feels fits the environment. We will custom manufacture any track to fit any machine, or tire for that matter. We do not use lag bolts to, hopefully keep the belting secured to the UHMW. My God, you just can’t do that! And if washers pull through your belt, perhaps you need a rock crusher grade belt like ours. We are not in our 25th “Generation,” or whatever, of tracks, with the past 24 being “Tinker-Toy,” disasters. You want bashing? Call me, and hear the real truth. I have been a Journey machinist, and an avid Argo owner since I was young. I am now 56. I can’t tell you how many times the ODG factory reps have told me to stop doing demos the way I do, or they will terminate my dealership. Why? Isn’t this what Argos are expected to do? Well, if they had the right track, they would. Let’s clear the air and tell it like it is. I am getting weary of the negative campaign, and downright foolish comments made by others, who either don’t know what they are talking about, or mislead with fake forum strings and fake profiles. Shameless. Do you know that 6x6 World won’t even let Beaver Dam Argo post? That should tell you how strong the hype machine is. Oh wow, look at me tearing up the grass? Try tires, or the Argo rubber track. So get a golf cart then. Get the hell off the grass and go where Buzz is going with his Mudd-Ox and his hybrids. We here at Beaver Dam Argo produce a hybrid track that will not damage your Argo, will get you up on deep powder snow without the need for a snow kit. They will climb out of the ice. They are lighter and easier on your machine than the Escargo brand track. Our grousers have more paddling surface area than Escargos or Adairs to propel you faster in water. We have tracks for anything, including MAXs and Bigfoots with 25” tires. We have tracks on a Centaur in Colorado for the weight argument. I just got tired of track systems not working up to their maximum potential, and with faulty designs. We have tracks that paddle Argo HDI’s across the Mississippi River! I am here from 5 am to 6 or 7pm 7 days a week. Call me. With 35 years of Argo ownership/experience, I truly believe in my heart I have a solution for any track issue you have. Oh, and by the way, all Argos have chain wind up issues regardless of them being tracked or not. Try driving your 4 wheel drive pickup truck in low-lock on asphalt. Now try that with an 8 wheeler. Track tuners might work if they weren’t another weak link in already goofy system to begin with. However, elevated belt tracks allow a multi tired vehicle to turn on a dime, with ease, without the belting being encumbered in the soil, causing those chains to groan and buck, ripping your idler shafts out and stripping your brake sprockets. You see how I use my Argos. I’m not screwing around on the lawn. Running all those drive components with chain isn’t perfect, but It is what it is, with Argos anyway. But, you can reduce some of the inherent self -destruction of any chain driven vehicle by elevating the belt so it is only in contact when you need it. It isn’t rocket science. It’s more like sprocket science. Just common sense. I am known world-wide as the friendliest Argo dealer you will ever talk to. No question is a dumb one. Just ask. I help everybody, no matter where you bought your Argo. If you are shopping the internet and see a used one and have questions, call me. If you want to talk tracks, or bearings, or like the guy in New Foundland who called me, stranded, and needing help on Super Bowl Sunday last year. I will do my best to be friendly and helpful. Wow, it’s Sunday again. I started reading this You Tube string at 5 am and felt the need to finally clear a few things up, technical and otherwise. One of these days I am going to take a ride on a Mudd-Ox too. I love all of your videos Buzz, as well as your endeavor to advance the true spirit of why we are all here. And now for you bigbluegpr? Are you by chance another fake profile set up by those who would deceive? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?????? LOL. Relax and enjoy what we outdoorsmen are blessed with. Now, it’s Sunday, and I have a half a dozen Argos to restore. All clear? Now I can be friendly again.

      Hi Cris, friend of mine rents these machines out, all of em on tracks too, 1st thing he does is takes all the balloon tires off & replaces them with turf tires like a lawn tractor would have. Have you ever tried that? Or know anyone else who has? Im wondering what the advantage is, if any, like longer wearing tire? I don't know...what u know of this?

  • @me53933
    @me53933  Před 10 lety +6

    Yes, we build Escargo type all steel as well as UHMW AND hybrid mix tracks of both for every tire size and machine application. MAX people can really appreciate us, as well as anyone who has changed from the standard 10 or 12 inch wide tires to something like 11 or 11.5 tires. We don't do it all ourselves though. Although we run a full CNC shop here, we get plenty of help from the local die making shops, for making dies for the 150 ton press necessary to fabricate a now stronger than Escargo brand crosser base. We contract our laser work to one of the excellent machining facilities here in the heart of Wisconsin to accurately form our now larger than Escargo Brand crosser blades, as well as give all of our welding work to the oldest, and best known blacksmithing firms in the State for perfect welds every time, spacer manufacturing, and ice cleat production. They E Coat for rust prevention, instead of what we used to get from Escargo In Canada, which was merely a powder coat that looks really nice, but....
    So, yes, we do it all here so we can assure you that the you get exactly what you require for your machine. We make tracks for all season use, not only summer tracks with winter kits, but tracks that will work year round for less money than both kits. We make tracks for XTI, Centaur, MAX, and all Argos.

    Beaver Dam Argo continues to offer both the typical "Escargo" type fully curved crosser as well as our current 15 degree beveled track for exactly that reason Buzz. On easy going, less demanding terrain, such as hard ground and gravel roads, for instance, the rounded blade makes for a nicer ride. The now famous "Argo Bog of Death," which is in the back yard of our home on Fox Lake is where we our perform even the fantastic Escargo type grouser. This is where the Adair team needed a pole to push themselves out of. With this optional profile blade crosser we have improved performance in muskeg, silt, and that greasy, slimy muck with the more positive grip on cat tails and Lilly pads. This design also gives us more "Push," to get you up and out of whatever you are in. Logs, rocks, stumps, ditches are areas where the standard issue Escargo curved blade works extremely well. Constant testing in the nastiest bog on earth brought us to offer this as an option for bayous, Mississippi River bottom type sludge, cattail marshes, ice, etc. brought us to this paddle profile as an easy choice. Both are always available from our Beaver Dam Wisconsin production facility.

    Actually bigblue, Beaver Dam Argo owns this property and you will be happy to know that this dense mucky mess is totally regrown in about 2 weeks. Within that 2 weeks, the carp spear boats were able to harvest 600 lbs of carp. This also allowed us to clean our many wood duck houses along our property. We do not encourage damage to weed growth as this is our natural filteration barrier. I appreciate your comments however. This is however, the "Bog of Argo Death," and we "own" it. Literally.

    The Escargo tracks are awesome tracks, but the Adair tracks turn a whole lot easier on the grass and don't tear up the yard like the Escargo tracks do, Adair tracks are a lot lighter and cost a whole lot less too. The Adair tracks are also faster in the water if you are running two Argo 8x8's side by side.

    funny when you where in bog you put 2 tires in back to lift front end to help the tracks work going forward, then when you showed backing up video in the Bog you took them out so the rear end would be higher to help the tracks. ???

    Well, Jery, the tracks we build here at Beaver Dam Argo, including the Escargo inspired type track being demonstrated here, aren't really meant for your lawn. They are meant for extreme swamp and off-road use. My original concern was that I was going to cut my lawn into little squares like flat cake when I crossed my lawn on my way to the "Argo bog of death." I was quite surprised to see that I could cross my lawn with no damage at all. I wanted to see how crazy I could go with it, so I ran donuts around my own lawn, hoping to rip it up some. What you see, is a remarkably small amount of damage pulling up of some grass, even when I was doing donuts on it. If you did this with an Argo rubber track, you would rip the lawn out by the roots and have to reseed. We also ran these tracks on our driveway to see if we would damage my asphalt. Nope. What you have to understand Jery, is that no track is perfect for every condition. That's why we make track solutions to match whatever problem terrain you might encounter. If you need a 24" wide snow track, Beaver Dam Argo will make it for you. If you have a BigFoot and don't want to put smaller tires on it, we can make a track for you. If you have a MAX, we make tracks for MAX units that will turn them into monster mud machines. As you can see by the outrageous demos we do with our tracks, they don't fall off either. Thank you again for the opportunity to set the record straight. Our extreme on-lawn track is still on the drawing board. Croquet anyone?

  • @me53933
    @me53933  Před 12 lety

    Unfortunately the Adair tracks we ran on our rental Argos would fall apart and fall off. The HDMW is a great paddle material and is easier on the lawn, but all the small pieces of the Adair track crack and pull out and the whole track needs to be rebuilt. I switched to Escargo because they weigh about the same as the Argo rubber track, don't damage Argos and don't fall off. I never get stuck with Escargo tracks and they swim just fine. Beaver Dam Argo also makes excellent off lawn HDMW tracks

    Woops. Should have run spell checker. Sorry, must be the German in me. Check out the videos at Escargotracks and see how far back the Escargo designs go. The Argo factory has used Escargo tracks in some of their brochures and calendars over the years. Don't be fooled by a mass marketing scheme that clutters up the internet in an effort to fog the truth. Beaver Dam Argo and Escargo Tracks have 8x8 steel tracks that weigh 159 lbs and cosst only $4800. Escargo. The Best Tracks in the World!

    We were running Adair Track Tuners when we filmed this, so don't try to use this as another Escargo bash job. The more negative bs, and fake profiles / testimonials you guys put out there to misrepresent Escargo tracks, the more people are alertedt to the fact that you .just maybe a bunch of, what would appear to be "Liars?" Wnat will it be next week? You will probably introduce some new generation of track to make the public forget what you are pushing today? Chain windup? LOL Give it a rest.
