This video shows you how to achieve rich, textural, deep green gel prints through six layers of stencils, foam stamping, and ghost prints. Working from dark to light with shades of green and bronze, this gel print is a beautiful example of the complexity you can achieve when you know how to layer!

Thankyou for showing the layering techniques. I'm learning heaps by watching your videos. ⚘️
It’s all about layering, I’m glad that you are learning! I also have Patreon, and a self study online gel printing Workshop if you want more in-depth information :-)
Thank you, it’s always a joy to watch you ‘work’
So nice of you, thanks!
Friday afternoon in the uk I always know to come and find you for a wonderful dose of gelli printing thank you xx
Thanks so much! All the way from the UK is awesome!
I like the results of my clean off paper the best. It’s all about the “layers”. Thx
Thanks so much! It’s true, the layering is what makes the magic
Wonderful print! SO glad I bought your recommended rice paper pad. It’s by far the best I’ve used! If only I could recreate my past favorite prints on this paper, alas I’ll just have to enjoy new the creations. Your foam stamps are great too. Thanks for another great tutorial.
My pleasure! I’m glad you like the rice paper. It’s the only kind I use. I found it through experimentation and now I’m happy to share with everyone and it really is the best
Always learning something new with your videos!💚
That’s awesome!
Love your layering style! Beautiful outcome ❤️
Thank you!
LOVE THE STAMP😊😊
Thanks so much!
Love those layers!😍
Woo hoo! Thanks 🙏
Now that I would of love to see all the different green prints.
Ha ha there were tons of them as I worked out this technique
@@ElizabethStHilaire I know what you mean that’s the fun of gel printing.
That was very textured I like
Thanks!
I have some of your stamps and have gotten them from Joggles and Artfoamies. The instructions they came with say to keep printing them till you see no ink, then rinse them off in running water till it all comes off, the blot with paper towels. Do not rub them. Do it right after you use it or else the paint will dry and ruin it.
The lesson you just gave was fantastic. The paper is gorgeous.
Thanks so much. EUdice G
thanks Eudice! Art Foamies does a good job with instructions. you have to be diligent with acrylic paint, ink pads and watercolor are more forgiving
I’ve been been watching you now for a few weeks I think I’ve seen about 99% of them all I really have learned a great deal. Also wanted to let you know I don’t know how to send you a picture but I have put into place the same system you’re using for storing of my stencils. I have two racks worth and it is so much better. Thank you for sharing your method. Also on the side, the necklace you were wearing in this video is gorgeous, I really like it.
thanks so much Colleen! the system works really well and I appreciate your kind words about my videos and the necklace!!!
So enjoy your videos and talent. Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
I so enjoy your style and enthusiasm 😍
Thank you Regina, I appreciate your taking the time to be such a positive comment!
Wow! Gorgeous
Thanks Sylvia!
Great as always!
Thank you Deborah 😊
Love these videos
Thank you Judy!
Very cool!
Thanks Linda!
That's awesome 👌 thanks
Sure!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and your Green theme. You are a pleasure to watch/listen to. Very informative and humourous. 😁
Oh thanks! It’s a good month for green!! I do try to be entertaining! LOL
Always so fun and interesting and genuinely helpful!!
I’m really glad to hear that Edith, thank you for taking the time to write a comment!
thank you, love the finished print. watching the number of layers, colours, and use of stencils to create the print was so helpful for when I try my hand at doing the same. you are such a talented artist.
Thank you so much! Layering is the key.
Gorgeous! I love green and with bronze it’s so luscious.
It really is! Me too.
I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago, I’ve subscribed, and I’ve been watching a marathon of your videos. I’ve been so inspired that I’ve already created and mailed a gel print birthday card for my grandson and am currently working on collage cards from gel prints for our church’s shut-ins. Thank you so much for all the great art inspiration! I’m addicted. Now I just need to buy more paint!!
Oh wow that’s so awesome!
Thank you!
My pleasure Avanelle
I drool over those big bottles of Golden🤗. One day.
For now I’m using crappy craft paints. I wonder if that’s why sometimes when I lift a print off of the plate it peels away from both the paper and the plate. It’s so frustrating. I love watching because you’re very inspiring.
Yes that’s probably why. :( I’m happy to inspire!! Thanks so much
Love your work! Do you stamp on the plate and pull as opposed to stamping on the paper in order to get a more subtle effect as well as some ‘ghosting’? Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Yes I like it on the plate because it breaks the image down, making it softer and less graphic than a straight up stamp. I prefer the painterly effect, the soft edges, that sort of look.
Awesome, as usual! Not a real fan of green, but I can work it with another color, light to dark! I'm thinking orange, which would switch my metallic to gold?
Give it a try!
Wonderful! The more of your videos I watch, the more of a fan I become. I love your teaching style. So much concern for whether us slower learners are keeping up. I've got down the layering rule of light to dark, but I'm not sure about the small to big that was previously mentioned. Do you have a video on that guideline? Also, don't know whether you know that Gelli Arts has recently come out with a 9x12 gel plate. I use it with all your stencils and am now hooked on printing with this size almost exclusively. Please continue to design stencils. They are so much fun!
I’m glad you are enjoying the videos! I do try to be comprehensive. I’m not sure about the big to small concept, just layering and practicing combining shapes and sizes-always different.
@@ElizabethStHilaire Thanks. That's what I'm doing and having loads of fun!
@@youtubechannel9190 awesome!
Beautiful print! Question: So, with paint colors you work light to dark, and with stencils you work large to small? I know you’ve shared your “formula” in past videos, but I can’t seem to find one at the moment. 🤪 Thanks!
Ahhh light to dark in layering, always!
Hello Elizabeth, I wonder if you would ever consider creating a set of art deco stencils with 20s art deco patterns?
Gillian.
Hey that does sound like a great idea but I’m not a fan of art deco because of it straight lines. I am an art nouveau girl! Curvilinear :-)
I just need to learn when to stop! LOL
I would say that five or six layers is good, but if you are to happy with how it looks, add another layer!
