- This is my reaction to hearing Pentatonix - Can you Feel the Love Tonight for the first time. And YOU GUYS DIDNT LIE I NEEDED THE WARNINGS.

My Grandmother was in her last moments. I placed the grandchildren in another room watching Lion King. Her last moments were All of Us Listening to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" 💞
That's so amazing! I'm so sorry for your loss honey. I lost my mom on Aug. 15th 2009 (exactly 13 years ago today) & it still hurts me to get thru the day on this day every year. The day she passed was the 1st day since she'd had a stroke 6 weeks earlier that I had left her in her caregiver's care while I rode with my husband to look at a house we were intending to buy. I was by her side almost constantly because we were very close. I had seen 2 pieces of lumber in in the yard. One had "I love you" carved in it & the other one had Goodbye carved. When we were back at the builders office my husband got the call & he had to sit me down & tell me my mom had passed. At 1st I was so full of guilt at not being with her on that one day. But eventually I came to be certain that she had somehow orchestrated it to happen when I wasn't there, coz she knew it would scar me for life If I had been there to witness her taking her last breath. When I was at the Evergreen show in Kentucky last year, sitting only a few feet from the edge of the stage, Ptx sang Evergreen, & I definitely felt my mom with me. Of course I cried like a baby. My 27 y/o daughter was with me & we held each other during the whole song. She knew that song makes me cry every time, so she was prepared. She was very close to my mom too. At least we have each other to get thru this day each year. I am really blessed to have my girl, & to have Pentatonix to bring joy to my life every day when I listen to their amazing music. They seem to know what is best for us & I'm so glad you stopped beating yourself up & could just take in the love she wanted for you at the end. Thank you for sharing your amazing story. The surprise Mitch slap in this one is my favorite. This definitely brings me back to my childhood.
What always hits me full in the chest about Mitch in this one is how easy it sounds. There is zero hint of stress and it's just nigh effortless.
Yep that is Mitch 'coming in like an angel' - and it will always be Mitch coming in like an angel! It sounds gorgeous and I love the three key changes and the wall of sound. Stunning. Did you notice they're all dressed as inspired by Lion King characters? Kevin - Simba, Kirstie - Nala, Mitch - Zazu, Matt and Scott Timon and Pumbaa. This is quite an epic 'Mitch slap' isn't it?! 5 part harmony makes me melt. I love how Scott's "whoa" grounds Mitch's high note. Without it I think that high note would have sounded out of place
Simply among the very best performances PTX has ever done I never tire of listening to it, even though I've heard it hundreds of time.
You can't go wrong with Pentatonix (or Home Free or Voiceplay). Anything they do is golden. Even their appearance on Sesame Street, singing about the numbers 1 through 5, is delightful.
Great Reaction! I knew you would love this one. You would love the Pentatonix cover of "Say Something" with Kirstie taking the lead and Kevin driving so much emotion into his celloboxing. It has been so much fun watching how much you love and appreciate all the members special talent in all three acapella groups. Now in a short amount of time you have become a Pentaholic, Home Fry, and a Voice Player and gained more than 2000 subscribers.
It takes a confident woman to wear the dress that Kirstin was wearing. In fact, all of their outfits were meant to be different characters from The Lion King. Kirstin was Nala of course, Kevin was Simba, Matt and Scott were Pumba and Timon respectively, and Mitch with the bright colors was Zazu. Great reaction again!
I honestly believe there is not a song that they can not improve upon . They all sing like angels when called upon

If you love Christmas music. Pentatonix bread and butter is doing Christmas covers and originals. They have tons and tons of Christmas songs you can react to.
But my next recommendation is reacting to the Prayer by Pentatonix. Mitch really shines in that song.
Yet another reason for Pentatonix to be the first acapella group to write and perform a movie soundtrack in acapella of course.

Oh dear Matt. You weren't ready for this one. Aw hell, NONE of us were ready for that Mitchslap. And as if we needed a reason to fall in love with them all over again. Scott with that heart achingly tender note with that little vibrato.... I just melt. They are dressed as the characters too. I love this group so much!
Undoubtably one of PTX’s most powerful and beautiful songs…complete with Kirstie’s wardrobe and multiple Mitch Slaps. The ultimate “feel good” song!

Honorable mention goes out to little drummer boy and carol of the bells only there because they’re Christmas songs but DEFINITELY worth a watch! @@mattsreacts I think you MIGHT be ready for Can't Hold Us... You have not seen them performing anything like that yet. It is WILD!! That, and Papaoutai (sung all in French! AND LINDSEY STIRLING IS IN THAT ONE!) and their original "Can't Sleep Love". The official video of that is creative, colorful, amazing & 10 other great adjectives, but their live version at 2016 Popspring performance is utterly exciting & mind-blowing. You really should react to both versions. There are 3 other songs in that live video- 2 more originals & a cover, but it is totally worth watching the whole thing. Actually the cover of "Aha" that is one of the Popspring performances also has a great official MV that you just have to see too! You not only get Mitch slapped multiple times, but you get Avi slapped too!! Lets just say, somebody had to replace some blown speakers after that! Lol! I always wonder if the people sitting near the speakers had any hearing damage from that night!!! I think I can safely promise that if you did a super long reaction video to Popspring plus the Official videos of Aha & Can't Sleep Love, all us Pentaholics would be glued to our screens for the entire time!! But whatever you choose to react to next will be perfect coz every song they do is amazing. I think you're finally beginning to believe us when we say there is no bad choice!! P.S. I would enjoy seeing you react to the Pentatonix song Run to You. It's an older one (Avi is still in the group), and for me it is their most astonishing and emotionally-beautiful song/video. It has an atmosphere of peaceful strength. It currently has 214K views, but if you react to it we could add some more, eh?

Oh yes! I was at that exact show, sitting right at the stage & it was the most amazing experience I've had in my whole life!!! In fact, I am in all of the video they made of that song, each time they show the front rows of the audience at the end of the catwalk. Im the crazy lady in the red dress either waving my arms or holding my camera up taking a video!! Lol!! I hope they will eventually release their full video of that concert on dvd or something so I can buy it!!!

Pentatonix The Recording of Evergreen is a video you should watch. It is around 15 minutes long but it gives you an idea of how they record music in studio. Evergreen is their latest Christmas album btw.
Another great, yet different Kirstin led song is The Wizard of Ahhhs along with Todrick Hall. Kirstin really shines in that one.

Given how smitten you are with Kirstin, I would recommend you check out 'Rather Be' to get a chance to see her take the lead. But, after that along with KO and Superfruit rabbit holes, you can not miss her solo EP 'Love'. 'Break a Little' is really good, but, she is absolutely stunning in the evocatively titled 'Naked'. Your infatuation will reach whole new levels.
In addition there are two more incredibly talented and beautiful female vocalists that you should delve into. They are quite possibly the two best female singers I have ever heard. The first is Asia's Phoenix a 26 year-old phenom from the Phillipines named Morissette Amon. She is a blend of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Selena, and Mariah Carey all rolled into one package. I would suggest her covers of 'Rise Up' and 'Never Enough' as jumping off points. THe second, is a 44 year-old former CCM/Gospel singer from South Korea named Sohyang. She is probably the most techically skilled and flawless artist around. She also writes her own arrangements to a level commensurate with her vocal control and agility. She has many EPIC performances to choose from, but her versions of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and the Whitney Houston classic 'I Have Nothing' will leave you astounded. Especially the former, which she takes to a whole other level.
I have Kirstie's CD, and it is beautiful. As far as I'm concerned, Kirstie has the most beautiful voice of any female singer in the world today. I just love her! I'm really hoping Ptx is making a lullaby album!!

This song carried me away from the physical universe into one of harmony and joy. The movie was such a big part of my child’s life and holds such fond memories, there isn’t a group out here that could have made this more special. BTW, does anyone else need a defibrillator? Great reaction
Hello Matts Reacts. At last. Thank you for doing this one. This is another masterpiece arrangement from Pentatonix. Scott starting with his soul, raspy voice. Matt following so deep and warm Kevin driving that beat - dum dum dum. Kirstie so sharp and sweet. Mitch singing so sweetly on his verse, then blasting off into the stratosphere on those high notes.. Classic Mitch-slap from you there. Yes, that is Mitch coming in like an angel, that's why we call him our angel Mitch.. The layering of voices, the harmonies, the crescendo, the wall of sound, the videography, the fire flies, the costumes.. This is one of my favourite PTX covers. Your reaction was superb - the expressions on your face and your commentary. I am still smiling, laughing and clapping my hands in glee at your reactions - I knew you would reconsider "settling" for Pentatonix - LOL - don't worry - you know them and love them now so you are on board with us Pentaholics. Hehe. We warned you about Kirstie but didn't mention Mitch. Even Kirstie tries to warn you about Mitch, that knowing smile she wears the whole time; she knows what's coming. The pair of them are glorious in this, though they're all amazing. They always are!
I know this is late but one of my favorite facts about this song is we almost didn't have it. However when Elton John sat in on a viewing of the lion king movie he asked where his song was and with a couple changes to what characters sang the song (Originally only Timon and Pumbaa where gonna sing it) they put it in and now we have a masterpiece!
Check out the behind the scenes video for this song. Included was the decision to go for a third key change. Key changes are often dramatic and satisfying. PTX doesn’t disappoint.

I love your reactions, hands down. Please, please, please check out PTX's cover of "Come Along" as well as "White Winter Hymnal". I've watched/listened to each of them dozens of times by now, and there's ALWAYS something new I'm discovering each time I listen. "Come Along" features Matt on bass, and "WWH" is one they did when Avi was still with the group. You get the best of both group blends!

There is SOOOOOO much for you to catch up on, but I would recommend going to "Baby Tonix" and where it all started. React to "The Sing Off" series (12 songs I think) in order. Watch to the end of each, firstly to get the judges comments but also to get the PTX closing comments on some. You will see how good they were eleven years ago.

I love this PTX version even more than the Disney original -- and I think we all knew you'd love this one too, and not just for Kirstie's stellar performance. 😊 For follow-up recommendations I can suggest 'The Prayer' (for more Mitch angelic-ness, Kirstie awesomeness and Scott 'whoooaa-didn't-know-he-could-do-THAT-too!'-ness,) 'Mary Did You Know?' and *especially* their collab with the awesome Todrick Hall 'The Wizard of Ahhhs,' which will be PERFECT if you want another huge dose of childhood feels (and maybe keep the kleenex on standby for the end as well, since it's another heart-puncher.)

Rather Be is my favorite Kirstie lead. Even after they’ve put out a lot more with her leading, rather be just suits her perfectly for me.

You almost can't go wrong with anything they've done. There are some where I just don't care for the song itself, but that's a personal thing and there's no way to not appreciate the sheer talent. I'd suggest Light in the Hallway, it's quieter but so lovely. Standing By is another that always hits me in the feels.

Oh Michael, welcome to the loving arms of the PTX family.. it's such an amazing journey isn't it. There's some hidden gems that often get overlooked that you would love if you haven't dug them out already-Ride cover by 21 pilots (done at an Australian radio station) New Year's Day-an original sung live for New Years Eve 2016(I think!) The Star Wars medley live at the AMAs 2017(So freaking amazing!) & let's see, Seasons of Love-live for PBS' A Capital 4th of July last summer! I'm sure you've probably already found those but if not you'll be glad to see them! Happy PTX-ing!

I laughed so hard I thought I would fall out of my chair! I don't think you meant it to be disrespectful either. I guess some people are more easily offended. Personally, I am a 62 year old Christian wife & mother & I have a great sense of humor. But you have to understand you never know what the life experiences of others have formed them to be sensitive to certain things. Rough day so decided to rewatch some epic PTX reactions and of course had to come to your page, I just love your reactions, so pure and I love your extensive vocabulary!
I watched a behind the scenes about this video and they talk about how hot it was outside and Mitch was in a heavy coat, they had personal fans on them between takes.
