  • I feel like there’s a lot of people trying to get into the industry of being a professional Dog trainer. I do believe there is some people that think it’s reasonably easy, and it certainly isn’t. If you want to be good at training peoples dogs and helping them manage with their problems it takes a long time to develop the skills to help a wide range of dog issues.
In this video, I’ll give some advice to current and potential new trainers to think about.

Agree 100%, Rocco my Amstaff is very food motivated and a wonderful friendly dog but very reactive to other dogs in a playful way. He does have a threshold but his threshold varies on how the other dog behaves. If the other dog just walks past and ignores him then he’ll do the same but if the other dog wants to sniff and play then he’ll want to do the same.

Wow! Well it’s about time somebody talked about the fact that, the phsycology that is involved with dogs is vital! Way to go Harry great to see you, and the best animals in the world working together. Very impressive and admirable. There is so much people don’t know, me included. However I do have a Doberman bitch and working Cocker Spaniel bitch.
My son gets a wee bit annoyed at how they both respond to me, with very little action. It’s also amazing that people think Dobermans are for attack when actually they’re all about defence of their owner.. well I don’t know if you’d agree but my girl is all bark behind a fence, heckles up… then the moment there is a “hello lovely”, she’s all “ oh Hi” love me love me love me lol 😂. I could go on for ages, but just wanted to say “ love your work” 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Well said! There are dominant dogs regardless of what some "trainers" say, and every dog should have muzzle training if not for an emergency only.

I'm amazed that a lot of people on German Shepherd social media sites put there dogs in indestructible crates all day and then use e collars and pronged collars on them.

You're making a misinformed statement based solely on confirmation bias, emotion as well as a lack of information, and firsthand experience.

I believe there needs to be a range of strategies, exercise, socialisation, training and more importantly information for the owner / handler. That's why I engage a great trainer like Jason.
I'm on my 4th German Shepherd and I know that I have a lot to learn.
      It takes time and perseverance.

@@cherylmillard2067 i think your comment is a little tough on Maureen. There is a lot of people relying on equipment to do the work for them instead of putting in the work with consistent quality training.
