the game didn't grab me at all but splat playing the game makes it fun to watch
A true statement about many of the games he plays. I'd never want to play them but I love watching him do it.
it needs a free roguelike dlc that might save it
Splat has tricked me enough times to buy a game... I have come to find out I enjoy the games mostly because of his commentary.
Logical conclusion: Buy games for Splat.
This game has lot of dead weight, empty spaces with nothing. Splat makes everything funnier but I stopped buying games because of his videos a long time ago.
@@AurioDK roflmao! 🤣 It's a great and terrible compliment
Twitchy the Crackoon: "yay toilet zanex, my favorite!!!"
*has giant sword and a gun; "why can't I use this crowbar as a weapon?"
I saw this game being announced years and years ago, I started to think that it will be one of those titles that will never see the light of day. Cool to see it finally published tho
Its been on my wishlist for like 4 years
@@Neyreyan yah it dont look that great does it, this is exactly what I'd expect from thq
I love how Splattercat has became the self appointed king of indie games
Adventure games are fun when they pull you into a great story and rich world, then use the mechanics of gaming to help you become an agent in the story. This game seems to be built upside down. They cobbled together a bunch of gaming mechanics and then slapped a thin layer of storytelling paint on top of them. All the mechanics are introduced as-such (i.e. "this is a puzzle. the game has puzzles. you can solve them for extra benefits.") instead of letting the mechanics become apparent through the telling of the story. It has the effect of looking at an automobile without a body...all engine and chassis, an object made for mechanics rather than drivers.
29:17 I appreciate how he pauses between statements to let the narrator translate for the unseen audience.
i love that you made a video on this, simply for your specific view and input only you bring to the table
Ok that character creation is really fvking cool. Also 3:01 lmfao
Glad to watch Splat play this.
Sad to say it doesn't look very appealing after the fact. Some of that magic seems to be lost between when it was announced and now.
Odd combat controls and guns that look cool but shoot BBs give me a weird Devil May Cry vibe. Also that kind of combat is really cool once or twice, but goes in the toilet quickly.
The game being entirely narrated by one guy and hearing no other voices seems like it would definitely get irritating.
"I sat through presentation, you give me time share" lmao!!! For me it went. "You give me free weekend in Las Vegas, I sit through presentation then deny your offer for time share. To my surprise, you give me more free weekends in Vegas" rinse and repeat. Love your commentary dude!
Ive been wanting to hear more about this game for a while now, thanks Splat!
From what I've seen, reviews from people who are liking the game are REALLY liking the game but many people are kinda meh on it. Me, I think this is the kind of game that's right up my alley.
The people that are "Meh" are the same morons that still like and have hope for CyberPunk...
I mean, that's the best thing about games. There's always something we dislike, and plenty more to like. ♥
@@jrag1000 have you even played cyberpunk or are you just another clown following what you read online? One of the best games I've ever played
@@13_faces I tried to play it and it crashed among other retarded things. Folks we have a winner here, don’t take any game advice from this joker. 🤣
Clown, calls people clowns then thinks the worst game launch and development in the history of gaming was good. He’s running the circus ladies and gentlemen!
I'll admit, it doesn't necessarily give the best first impression. A bit of a slog in the beginning. But once the leash is taken off, the game just gets better and better. Would love to see what X101 could do with a bigger budget and larger team. This is easily the most fun I've had in a game this year.
Yo I've seen so much Biomutant gameplay but I will ALWAYS watch ya boi splattercat over 10 hours of gameplay watched and splattercat is the only one to wall jump
"No sacky-splat for you!"🤣🤣👏👏
I enjoyed that, keep doing these if you find the time and something peaks your interest.
Wow, thats pretty amazing! Thanks for sharing, splat!
The lack of impact on melee attacks really bothers me.
Splat: 32 minute video of suspicious geopolitical motivation.
Me: Do I get treasure or anything?
Nah, for real though. Good content. I kinda dig the '90s "Disney Saves The Planet" vibes of the game.
You never disappoint with your comments. “Smack the sack!” Champagne SplatterCat.
I likey the indies much but, yup it's Splatties running commentary that makes it! The man definitely has a very creative way-with-words.
I swear I’ve been subscribed for a long time but this is the first video of yours that’s showed up in my subscription box in a while.
I wasn't expecting this from your channel.
the combat looks really fun. animations are beautiful
Hey, it’s Rocket’s cousin!
the setinel combat feels very heavy and satisfying. keep in mind you chose a very gun oriented build.
How on earth did you get to this point in your life pronouncing ALT like altitude instead of pronouncing it ALT as in alternative (which is what it's short for)?
today i learned that apparently people are picky over how 'alt' is pronounced.. ????
perhaps he is just being snarky and miss pronouncing it in order to be funny and/or different?
"left hand path" I got that reference!
What's the reference? Satanism?
@@Alorand yeah, basically. idk if its technically satanism per se, but occult in general.
Thanks, Splatter, for the gameplay.
Honestly not thrilled with the massive exposition dump in the tutorial. I'm a big fan of gradual environmental storytelling and speaking with NPCs to get background information about the game world. When the story is just thrown at the player, it feels lazy in my opinion. I hope the whole story isn't told by interruptions from the narrator. The combat seems weak too, but that's never stopped me from playing most RPGs. Biomutant's setting looks beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the actual open world and where the story branches off to. Though I think I'll wait for more reviews first before purchasing.
Thanks for the video. Saved me some money since I could tell it wasn’t my cup of tea.
I've seen this game in three or four different videos today; I assume there's a large sponsored marketing campaign going on. It looks like a delightfully zany concept. I suppose it'll be something to pick up in a few months after all the bugs get worked out.
"Let me introduce you to Smith & Ow! " :D
Not sure if it is just my audio settings but your voice is way louder than the narration in the game. I can handle it with headphones but at night listening through a speaker it's quite silent everytime characters talk
game looks dope! thankx for sharing
I know the chances that you see this is slim, but thought I would still try. To view your cpu and gpu numbers, I use NZXT cam on a 2nd monitor and it does help keep them in easy view. Love the great contact you always provide. Thank you.
cracked me up whe you said i sat thru presentation [wheres my timeshare] lol
Really wanted to see this game to thanks!
you got me at "some John Woo stuff" will definitively take a closer look at this game
This game is fun I don't care what reviews say it's a fun big world and challenging!
very beautiful looking game. 👍
Take a drink every time this man says ''dude'' !!
Lohner from vermintide found a portal to this world I hear
I missed all of those hidden chests lol!
Oooohh Splaty you should know that it's 2 films then time shair lol
BOY that narrator guy sounds like the Trine narrator.
I'm about 5 hours in an i think players had to high expectations. Fair enough it took a long time but its a pretty good simplistic rpg thats trying some new things but keeping elements we love also can't go wrong with the visuals
Man it's a shame this game is just getting slammed by reviews. I think this one will be a wait for deep sale, if I buy it at all.
Ones I saw people enjoy it.
@@UnownDepth I'm sure it's a mixed crowd, as usual
Everything I've read is saying that it's buggy and unfinished, which just makes me laugh. Ever since people bought hard into early access and online gaming, no publisher ever has really released a finished game. Everything goes through a month or so of repair patches and such before the game actually works properly. It's about as clear as cause-and-effect gets. When people buy unfinished products, it sends the message to producers that it's okay to release unfinished products.
I'll check this one out for sure, in the same way I check out all new games in the past decade: I'll give it a few months, wait for it to be patched, fixed, and finished, and buy it on sale after the launch hype dies down.
Ranged is a hardware concern... gonna have to wishlist this one...!...
7:00 More like Black&White !
Played for 20hrs so far and have only explored half the map, killed two world eaters out of 4, conquered a tribe out of 4 others, and reached lvl 24 and think the level cap is lvl 30 currently. The main pulling factor of the game keeping me playing for so long is the looting and upgrading as you get so much loot that its very satisfying when you can craft top of the line weapons and armor that lets you absolutely wreck or tank anything along with the combat system that can be very fun with its Arkham and DMC like combat system when chaining special attacks into super wung-fu. There's some copy-paste of villages with the same "It Takes a Village" quest that I've found 3 copies of so far, dungeons, and dialogue with side quests that don't really get you interested enough to read the long dialogue each npc gives that I usually skip now because they typically just give you a dungeon location to clear out. Also the boss fights for the world eaters are very lame and basic with both phases of the fights any of them give having the boss repeating 4 actions repeatedly until you progress to the next phase or kill them. So the main fun is looting every little box for a few components to work your way up collecting, deconstructing and selling/buying to collect enough high rarity and high strength components to craft that max rarity weapon that's worth 10K leaf (the currency). Very satisfied with the game
Funny how I pre ordered/ bought on steam and yet I still cant download the game till bout an hour after you posted your intro playthrough...
This new Ratchet & Clank/Jak & Daxter is weird, man
splatty please do a mini series.
Fantastic
i hope you got paid out for all the biomutant ads in this vid lol. gonna watch the stream in a bit!
The narrator Kinda reminds me of the one from vermtide somhow =)
Have a Hard time deside If I like what i see in this game or not. Nice vid however =)
3:03
click, listen, repeat
Hell yea. Let's get funkay
Fred Durst splat? Lol you’re showing your age man. Don’t worry. I didn’t need to look him up either 😂
Geez... I guess that reference does mean we're getting older, huh? I got it immediately and didn't even think about it; I just giggled. But yeah, reality check: we're getting older.
maybe best forgotten, i always got the impression the guy is probably a major a-hole.
The more I'm seeing of this game the more I think people should pick it up to the support the devs. I can't think of the last New (non indie) Title that got me this excited aside from Ghost of Tsushima
Smack a sack, SplatterCat!
I was hoping this would get looked at
If the medium was anything but anthropomorphised wildlife this might be right up there with an interest but that turns me off instantaneously. But thanks for covering it anyway.
Eh, I like how it was presented, honestly. To each their own.
It seams for character class: DEAD-EYE = RANGE, commando = range, psi = magic range, saboteur = duel wield melee, sentinel = tanky melee
Splat picks the DEAD-EYE range class then complains the whole review about it's melee not being as strong as it's range!
Now you have to stream but as one of the melee classes please
@@Neyreyan that's a lot more info... I know splatters time is more restricted I'd prefer 1 hour test runs!
*reads out the controls for switching dials*
*still wastes moves figuring out what controls are for switching dials*
looks like melee was "weightless" cus you were hitting larger targets. The smaller guys towards the end of the video definitely reacted to your strikes
Controls are definitely designed around a controller than KB+M.
A minus for me, but yup, clearly very console-centric in my eyes.
I was so excited for this game but guns just dont work reasonably. At least not pistols. The soundscape for the game also needs a lot of work. Thanks for covering the game splat!
Can you elaborate?
@@ChaoticNeutralMatt you can barely hear footsteps and there's no ambient sounds like birds, animals, or even wind. The only sound in the game is the music.
I actually just got to an area that has birdsong. Idk why it wasn't in at the start lol.
@@ChaoticNeutralMatt after watching the video I can also say that Keyboard and Mouse is probably the best way to play this game.
Out-of-Date reminded me of Jade Empire and the Old Tongue. Not sure I'll get the game, looks really pretty, but not too sure on the substance.
the thumbnail of the character remind me of snake from MG
Cat time here
Rocket is that you?
I dunno man, Cloud Raccoon looks a bit "My Sonic OC is developed and original" to me.
6:58 Disco Elysium?? Try black and white.
The fighting looks like Dark Souls
lol. Not even close
Looks great but not a game for me. Thanks for showing.. 👍
Ah, Skyrim. When you watch someone morph into all sizes, races etc for about 20 minutes, and afterwards you are traumatized for life
Edit: looks like something I'll pick up later
Edit: I don't know if the story changes depending on anything, but I see some Harry Potter slipped in
Humons don't like it but the furry may love it
devil may cry !!
🖤
Flail sea mine hahahahaha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Game voices are low, can ya turn em up abit? Thank you Sir
11-38 - It is russian/soviet Ural truck. So I guess devteam in reality was exUSSR... Heh...
The devs are Swedes/Finns.
So... Rocket Racoon the RPG, pretty much?
Interesting visual aesthetic, but the overall feel doesn't make me want to play this...
So dumb how i cant download this before 1 p.m. on pc. but console can download at 10 a.m.
I would like to point out that the stupid bright mascot will be the first thing to whine and moan when he does something "Evil". It's k. Just eat an orange and say it's in your nature. 😆
So, if we stop dumping crap in the oceans we'll get no cool mutants in the future?
That's sad bro... really sad...
don't worry Murican-style "capitalism" will definitely keep the pollution flowing!
@@msolomonii9825 As long as we get the mutants I don't care who does it.
My bet is on China as most corporations moved their entire production lines there including the most progressive and "eco-friendly" European ones.
But don't let others stop you from hating on US, after all most of us, Europeans, hate US for existing he he he...
Not that we have a better alternative, or that our corrupt socialist system offer any future to our young, except a lifetime of corporate wage slavery and state tax slavery. (We have two systems of oppressions, we're superior of the backward US)
@@cristitanase6130 I'd take your "socialisms" to the outright fascism we've got coming to us when our reich-wingers take over (all too soon)
@@msolomonii9825 You are talking nonsense. You never been taxed to death and you can afford 3-4 times what we can afford (in average). Your entire media is far left (by our standards) and you have one of the highest freedom (not for long) rating in the world.
The idea that you even have "fascism" is stupid. You don't know what fascism is, you never had it, you will never have it.
Your "fascism" is a highly pro-capitalist pro-independent pro-gun culture. Real fascism is collectivist, statist and bans guns.
Your far left media and your education system did a number on you teaching you to hate yourself and your own country while praising a (mostly failed) European socialist system.
Come here, try to live here for a while, try our wages, our taxes, our living costs. See why each summer millions riot on the streets of Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Milano, and see how you have no chance to ever do what an average American moron does (get a job, have a large home (or at least dream of having it), get the freedom to be yourself and to go wherever you want in the world.
In Europe we have two freedoms: to pay taxes and to die, and the second one is relative as they are not happy whenever the drones die without having payed enough taxes.
Thankfully our 35% youth unemployment is rising, and hopefully enough drones will get out of this rotten system that it can go to hell and collapse once and for all.
Btw, the "European satisfaction index" that is an independent statistic (not done by our corrupt media or state institutions) show that in average we never get over 12% satisfaction... and that's without the "lesser countries" like the ones in Eastern Europe (they never get counted, God forbid the truth ever comes out and people find out everyone hates Brussels).
No American ever had any bad words about US after he got a job here and payed 65% in taxes and additional 15-25 in VAT...
LMFAO.
:O
the UI and text bars/meny looks like Fortnite...
Uhhh... fifth, I guess.
6th it appears
...usually choose the light side, but that light side voice already annoys me......
hmm... so far it sure doesnt seem like open world to me.. quite linear..
There's tons of sidequests, but the game world is roughly shaped like a diamond and you start out at the bottom edge. I heard it takes roughly an hour for the game to open up so I wasn't sure how much Splat could show with his typical format. I guess I'll know once I clear space on my harddrive and download the game myself.
@@pmcollectorboy2929 true, so far this seems like DS3 like game, which isnt an open world.. hopefully this game isnt that and will be good.. have been wanting to play a new RPG for a while
@@Neyreyan fake advertising on steam ? time to play a few hrs, then refund it and do this over and over again
Or you could watch a few videos of let's plays on CZcams. It has crafting. It has mounts. It has fast travel. Sure looked open world to me.
@@pmcollectorboy2929 salt and sanctuary has fast travel (if i remember correctly) and crafting, is it also an open world game? Open world games are like witcher, were you can go anywhere you want... games like vermintide 2/biomutant arent open world games
This game sure seems to really lack some proper sound effects. That melee sounds like swinging a matchstick onto empty air.
Why are you complaining about your melee being less than average when you picked a GUNSLINGER who SPECIALIZES IN RANGED COMBAT. They literally had melee classes that you just glazed over because you were like "oOO BiG sHinY gUns" even though you specifically modeled your character to have a shit ton of melee damage. Like this ain't the games fault nor the developers. It's your own for not paying attention.
10th!
9th, unless someone deleted thier comment
Split screen PS5 please
They want AUD$100 for this on Steam. Therefore it doesn't belong on your channel. Are they kidding?
one thing that irritates me about these kind of games is they try to give you hints in the middle of fighting when ya know your supposed to be fighting and not reading? at least have it pause the game so you can read it and avoid damage.
