I see you are still fishing. A good lure for lakes is a silver Kastmaster and a panther Martin (brass colored blade, black body with yellow dots) if you can find them at one of your stops. Be careful of the heat!

The side trip to the Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout is 100% worth it. Phenomenal 360* views all the way to Mt. Shasta, Mt. Lassen and points south. The tower has been closed for many years, but you can hike up to it and walk on the catwalk surrounding it.
