One thing I also love about this animation is the sound design. When each girl is "featured" the music in the background is actually remixed versions of either their Original Songs, or the BGM they often use while streaming. The attention to detail by everyone involved makes this an instant classic.
I remember that some used Attack on Titan OSTs from the transition's transformation scene, it was quite cool
the amount of lore that is just In here is massive.
So ina is posseted by AO-chan (the ancient ones) it originally resides in abook and lore wise she ends up opening it and becoming a priestess for them and it why she has tentacles. one of the key things that is tie to this is that this is a time line where the girls never join hololive but they still become friends. so in part of ina's lore the Ancient ones plan to use her to take over the world but since she joins hololive she manages to convince them that there are others ways to take control of the world instead and I believe takodachis are supposed to be a way for her ether suppress their powers so they don't control her. so in this timeline since she never joined hololive they pretty much gain full control over her body. you can see that when the ancient one leaves ina she no longer has her flaps on her head meaning she is basically a normal human.
When ame ends up in the room with the projector you can see the holocounsel symbols with the owl representing muemei, the hourglass for kronii, a leaf for fauna, dice for bae, and sana has a glitching out plant which is most likely a reference to her graduating by that time along with in her lore she does have some connection to the ancient ones. as we see time is reversing we can see Irys descending as hope. which makes ense as ame pull the tape out was her hoping that the next timeline ends up better. Mazumaro has stated that timeline we are living in is the one with the good ending.
the timestamp on the video when ame enters the room is said to be the age of the universe at that point which was myths first anniversary.
This tragedy is cyclic, but there is Hope! Literally. There is IRyS in the sky. 10:48
Irys was ment to decend after the world goes to ruins. Its in her opening cinematic song. The hope in this video is shown in Ames keychain wich is different from the Ame who did the recording, showing that things can turn out differently. Just gotta land the right butterfly effect.
And if he had watched the video to the very end, he would've seen why. Almost no reactor watches the video to the end, and they miss, in my opinion, the most fundamentally important part of the entire story... 😥
I hope Mazumaro will get more attention. He solo did this animation over the year

If I remember right, each update of this when originally released was slightly different, and the number or prior versions should match the number of Ames in the theater. -- but I also could just be insane 😂

Yes. Yes, it is. And that... That's not Ina. That's The Ancient One. The Great Old One. You can see his outline in the storm cloud at one point. Big Octopus Face... Cthulhu himself. She became his priestess and got the tentacles and weird hair and ears when she read from the Necronomicon. And... As they said in the beginning... She lost control. Meaning, Cthulhu gained it. They're not fighting their friend here. Just an ancient evil that controls her like a puppet.
"Which one do we win in?"
We don't. But we keep trying. We keep rewinding time, even if we told ourselves that this is pointless. Even if we can see the bodies of all the ones who have tried and failed before us. Do you know why? Because... We have... 10:48 Hope. Blink and you'll miss it.

@@drthmik Yeah... Well... You can thank Project Hope for that. My own head canon. Putting two and two together. Her presence in the clouds as Ame turned back time, plus her presence somewhere else. Gura's Shark'd. IRyS whispers in her ear and helps her find Hololive.
And that's the difference between this time line and the others. In those others they were just mythical beings who became friends and hung out together. IRyS got the ball rolling with Goober and got the girls into streaming. And it's the presence and positive attitude of Takodachi that got Ina's confidence up and gave her faith in herself and joy in life to keep Old Tentacle Beard at bay.

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out already, but the 5 logos in the cinema scene represents the Council. Leaf is Fauna, Owl is Mumei, Dice is Bae, Hourglass is Kronii and the glitching Planet is Sana (it's glitching because she already graduated when that animation is made). The cinema itself is the timeline of the universe. Some fans theorize that this ending is the one we get if the five of them didn't get into Hololive and became a VTuber.

When the image of Gura and Ina playing a video game was shown Ina says "Try a little harder and you might win".
Later when Ame was in the projector room the world had already been destroyed at that point. The only think Ame could do is to rewind time letting them try once again to see if they could eventually win.
Finally at the end of the video it shows: September 13, 2022 The world was wiped out by a single entity. We are now past that date showing that Myth did finally win. We are in the 'good ending' timeline now.
There's also a post-credit thing of a Game Over screen, that hovers on 'Quit' for a bit before hitting 'Retry'

It's always the quiet ones...
Ina is priestess for the Ancient Ones. She carries the grimoire that they reside in which gives her access to her part of their power. In hololive lore the Ancient ones are basically another iteration of the eldritch gods from Lovecraft universe, the likes of Azathoth, Shub Shiggurath, Yog Sothoth and of course the most popular of all Cthulhu himself. Creatures who exceed the concepts of time, space, life, death and can alter the very fabric of reality by a mere thought. So even a portion of their power is crazy enough.
In this setup Ina loses control of this power and ends up getting possessed by their original owners. So basically they aren’t fighting Ina but the Ancient Ones themselves. Which is why they are getting destroyed easily and can’t do anything to her.
When the recording said new timeline I always figured it meant that with every go around something changes hence the word “new.” It’s possible that destroying the tape like Ame did causes changes so it might not be a cycle of tragedy but rather a new beginning.
Why do almost no reactors actually complete the video? There's a short sequence at the end that is in my opinion the most important part of the lore of the entire movie!

@@KhunShawn LOL, the "credits" are 3 names long. The important part is a video game on a TV screen at GAME OVER and the RETRY option is selected. It's to represent that each timeline is different and has a chance to not end the same way. Gura's flashback foreshadows it with Ina telling her to "Try again Gura and you might win".
Yeah Amelia/Dr Strange is a good comparison here.
