They could try making a different input to use the charge from his punches, since the charge seems to last forever. That way he can bait cooldowns with block and still run away by punching without wasting the charge.
But it's kinda hilarious hopw the team tried to make him less reliant on punch and just made him need it to kill anything, but with extra steps.
Honestly, they need to either a) lower the block cdr, b) make punch do more dmg with & without wall or c) give him more overshield with abilities.
I would never complain about df again with literally just one buff
@@BlahBlah-po3go It’s obscene how little damage rocket punch does even fully charged, they nerfed it waaay too hard from OW1. Orisa’s javelin does more damage on a similar cooldown and doesn’t require her to risk her life to use it among other things. Power block also needs to have some sort of defense against CC because right now anything can shut it down. Seismic slam’s cooldown is also a little too long for what it is, it should be 5 seconds rather than 7, and they should consider bringing back the slowing effect on enemies from the beta.
I like how the devs simultaneously said they’re worried about power creep and said “fuck it” at the same time.

in fact, doom is probably one of the only ways to get out of his ult and vortex if combined... that is, if doom can punch someone out and that effect isnt affected by the slow down and pull

Like i said im so glad they made it so his punch animation is the same as zenyatta orb throw animation. It fits canonically and looks really good.

Reminder that because he goes Nemesis in ult, he can also block. 50% reduction from ult plus the block reduction. So long as his ult is active, he's near immortal on his own
Actually now that I think about it, I think the damage reduction in his ult is a debuff that only applies to those tethered, meaning staying out of his range gives you full damage unless he blocks
But he will lose offense if he does that. Not saying it isn't valuable, but with how slowed you will be, your enemies should be able to escape the radius if you're only blocking

Im scared if this is a hint towards power creep in the game; having heroes you have to pay for having way too stacked kits, and then after everyone gets them for free THEN they nerf them. I hope this isn’t the case, power creep ruins games
Oh buddy you're just in for the start. It is power creep to unlease this insane character locked behind 10 dollars then nerf him the following season after you made money off of him. Look at his kit that is basically two heros in one. Then look at Zenyatta. He has 2 abilities in a sense. 1 ability that basically is just heal or damage. and Alt. Then look at this MF. 2 different set of abilties for different situations. Zen? heal or damage homie.

Now we have three levels of piercing damage. 1. Mei's primary fire goes through enemies only. 2. Rein's firestrike additionally goes through shields, and 3. Ramattra's Pummel ability additionally can't be removed by "eat" abilities.
But there's already things that bypass eats? Does that punch go through both?

it's not really levels, there are things that do 1 and 3 but not 2. And rein's hammer already goes through all 3. Hanzo's ult. Moira ult.

I'm pretty deflect keep genji from taking damage from punch. Punch just works like every pure melee damage like quick melee, rein hammer, blade, and brig flail. Its just in a mid range straight line instead if a sweeping arc which is why it might be strong.

They call him a "tempo" tank because his main gimmick is completely changing the tempo of his gameplay, and thus the tempo of a team fight. He's a pokey/Orisa 1.0-esque tank in Omnic form, but can become a potent brawler whenever he decides to change the "tempo". Maybe there is a better word to describe it, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad way of putting it.
My initial thought is if Rammatra ult is to strong the rein may have to pin Rammatra and carry him as far away as he can and die so the team may live. Or have the whole team retreat with TP.

@@TapiKoks Having a couple hundred hours in Paladins, Paladins pricing is far more better then Overwatch is, most of the super good skins are epics and only 8 dollars and they have a healthly lootbox system with a small reward pool so you're likely to get what you want. And again Paladins has always been free from day 1 so the fact that they've been doing better than Blizzard in terms of monetization considering they have very few $20 skins (I can only think of 5 off the top of my head)

@@duckesome Difference is here he can only block in nemesis state which has a time limit. Time he spends just blocking is time he isn't a threat. He gains nothing from blocking at all unlike DF who gains powered up punches. Its not necessarily stronger but different.
The dangerous situation is when he blocks to get to the point then ults to turn back into the form. I am curious if sleep dart cancels his block or not though. The plan to deal with him will likely be to out brawl him or just out range him. No movement in his kit at all so the best part of his kit could be used solely to reach the point.
The cooldowns and stats haven’t even been released yet.
Nemesis lasts 8 seconds with 8 second cooldown, block is unlimited in that time.
Doomfist powerblock lasts 2 seconds with an 8 second cooldown, but the block chargers his rocket punch.
They are very comparable, but
doomfist’s kit overall is more limited so you would expect it to be more impactful than it is currently.
This explains why they took that ability they tested in the Beta 2 with Moira so they could give it to Ramattra as an ultimate. Nice

They already have soooooo many heroes lined up to bring into the game. Just takes time to have fun and play with smaller features before they can come out.

This new team is really something. Releasing a high-mobility DPS who can headshot consistently with low cooldowns and refusing to nerf her, unleashing the most broken support ult that wins fights with the tap of a button, and now making a do-it-all tank who can counter every other tank. The direction they're taking the game makes me nervous lol
But at the same time they also released a meh DPS/Tank brawler hybrid that relies a lot of her abilities to gain life steal, and her ult is pretty much countered by said new support.

Imagine this guy with Lucio.
Ramattra ults, there is suddenly no escape for you as he is faster then you, you can't kill him as he has 50% less damage taken + block to reduce that even more, a speed boosting Lucio in his ass so he will walk faster then you can sprint and if you try, he'll vortex your ass so you can't really jump, fly or run away and you just have to die.. This is going to be so brutal
Respond in kind with a support ult from Zen or Lucio. Best way to combat that situation.
You'll just have to counterult tbh. Your DPS shouldn't be getting caught in it, and your supps can pop a defensive ult.
It'll be on your DPS to pressure the Rammatra into having to block. If he blocks, that should give your team time to back out.
However, it will just force space to be made. It's probably gonna take a while to charge.
Off the top of my head to go against him, Ana will be good (though kiriko will prolly ruin that), possibly Hog due to the size of his Nemesis hitbox (outside of his ult, but Whole Hog should help with that), maybe Sombra (if hack forces him out of Nemesis like it does Ball out of roll), and definitely Lucio, (to gtfo of his nemesis range, and to Beat his Annihilation engage)
@@fizzlock I hope hack doesn't force him out of nemesis state. That would suck. Hammond can immediately go back into ball state one it wears off but sombra would eat a CD rather easily.

I think their point about tempo isn't that he has tempo, but that he controls the tempo of fights since enemies have to change how they approach him based on his form

A new hero being broken is the norm as they test the waters and this one feels like the perfect tank in the sense that Kiriko is the perfect support for 5v5

Under this logic Rein's Firestrike should be able to do the same, as it doesnt make too much sense since they're both similar attacks under similar cooldowns. Its nice that the health changes from changing forms, however my concern is if transforming will GIVE armor or translate the current HP into an HP and Armor distribution.

his block seems to block half your screen and the no cooldown just means it works like reins shield, hold right click and you block, and of course it end s if the nemesis form ends. would be kinda useless if it had a cd since it's already coupled with the form cooldown

It would be very interesting to see if they could make genji like ramatrra so that he can switch between dragonblade and shurikens. Obviously they would need to do some adjustments in order for that to work

I will say, Genji does use his swords during melee, reflect, and his dash, but a dedicated sword stance hero would be amazing to see.

ok i figured it out,rein can use shield with no cooldown,and weave in melle swings,so it made sence to the devs ramatra can also do this,also rein melle goes trough stuff so his nemesis punches are like just a bit longer ranged melle in the minds of these devs so they obviously cant be blocked cuz its just longr range melle,now the part where he is the TEMPO tank is that his nemesis form is beyond broken...so the tempo part is for the enemy team,if he is in nemesis form we have to go on a 8 second rotation but somehow not give away valuable map space,then we he is in omnic form we can try to kill him,then when he ults we need to actualy C9 and lose the game if its overtime,but when the ult ends we get to play again,thats the tempo part
there is damage that is not block by anything it's the melee, so it's just a big as ranged melee

Mercy players!! 👊 I thought his vortex was gonna be easy to avoid like Sojourn's field but the more I watch it does come out kind of fast lol... I think we should all be pre-emptively anticipating it, as locking enemies down to engage them seems to be his entire gameplan lol. Splitting up and not staying out in the open might help too perhaps. (I wonder if Dva/Sigma can absorb the projectile while it's still traveling...)

What isn't scary to see on the enemy team as a Mercy main tbh. Mercy has a huge target on her face every match.
Also looks to be an easy neutralization of Mercy's (already weak) ult, if you can ground her ult with a normal ability.
@@hannahshark8080 yea, that is true. If you play mercy you already have a massive target on your back. Just seems like Ramattra is a new hard counter to mercy.
If there's one thing I want out of this tank, it's the ease of countering pharah + mercy. By far the most annoying thing to deal with as it agitates my team into being extremely toxic early on.
The article ending with "make sure to pick up your premium battle pass" explans a lot.

since nemesis is just an 8 second transformation I feel like the enemy team will just ignore you until it's over, there's no point in even attacking you, so I feel like it'll mostly be useful when you're low on health similar to orisa's fortify
Also I feel like the ult will lead to people leaving weaker enemy heroes alive so they can have their ult last longer until their teammates respawn
When they're calling Ramattra a "Tempo Tank", I think they're using the idea of "Tempo" in a similar way to how Magic: The Gathering has a "Tempo" archetype: a very high uptime, disruptive archetype where your main job is to delay/disrupt your opponent's game plan just enough that you're able to execute yours first. Idea being that if you're able to reach critical mass first, you can ride that all the way to victory.
It's a very proactive idea that relies on using all your resources in the right spots at JUST the right times, but I'll be super down for that gameplay if it works. His kit seems to provide that utility and uptime, so we'll see if it actually comes out that way, but of course, only time will tell.
I would say they call him a “tempo tank” because in dance a lot of time in dance it is on a 8 step count and his tank form is 8 seconds on and off! Just my two cents on it!

As a Mercy main, I might be taking a break from playing her in comp until they balance Ramattra out…😅I’m so excited to play him in QP tho! His abilities are awesome.
Honestly, Mercy didn't need this nerf, but Winston did so I love it nonetheless.
Just play comp with him anyway. Even if you go in a low rank, who cares. Just have fun with non main roles if you want to

important to note that his ult put him in nemesis form which slows him down, hopefully making escaping the area more doable. but in an overtime situation... it could be nasty.

Side note: His punches looked about 0.5 - 0.7 seconds slower than Zen's, meaning with Kiriko he will have Assault Rifle punches, slightly slower than Zen's Machine Gun punches.
sounds like his ult may be easier to counter than it seems. If it's "very short lived" when no one is in it, everyone just moves away for a second and it's over. Though the ult+block combo will be huge in OT bc you wont be able to move away from his ult if he's on point.

Yeah I'm not sure running is going to be an option much either especially in heavy rush comps. Imagine ram and Lucio going ham on you. Then good luck escaping or falling back if your low with rein shield/pin, d.v.a fly/defense matrix, or Winston since punch annihilate most defensive options on retreat and then getting slowed and pulled out of the air which seems like a better sojourn bubble depending on the slow effect and damage. The only thing I wonder if Anna and hog, or even widow will be effective against him since they made no mention of block stopping cc. Either way he looks super cool and can't wait to see him in action.
I think with tempo tank they mean he is squishy in regular form. You will probably have to coordinate attacks while in nemesis form to make a play within the 8 second window.
