People don't realize that being a "Visual" director is something VERY hard since you have to express something with your shots even if it doesn't has dialogue. And no matter if it's a slow mo shot, it always has to mean something.
Exactly people underestimate the thought that actually goes into the composition of each shot. They always take it at face value
This is so dumb lmao, Snyder is more focused on eye candy than expressing meaning with his shots. He can do that sure but not in any way that makes him stand out.
Honestly it's baffling that you would say something like "no matter if it's a slow mo shot, it always has to mean something" considering Snyder uses slo-mo for the most random things. There is literally a scene in Dawn of the Dead where a character drops a cigarette and the shot where the cigarette hits the ground is filmed in slo-mo. His filmography is filled with moments like this. What's the meaning there?

@@markamanic I agree to an extent, I do think his stories are by no means bad they are either highly flawed or average. BvS has my personal favorite of his stories because I love the concepts and themes it gets across. It is by no means perfect but I love it for what it does/tries to do. You can’t say you succeeded if you didn’t try.

Except for Army of the Dead surprisingly (outside the opening credits) I didn't get the blur everywhere! & I have a lot of fears about Rebel Moon 😩 the first time for a Snyder movie!

Ga’Hoole is one hell of an underrated film.
Funny I just came to realize, I loved all of these films (starting with Dawn) and I only came to know his name when he did Man of Steel.
Turns out, before he even stepped foot Into the DCEU, I was already captivated by his vision.
One hell of a director, and from what I’ve seen and read, one hell of a guy.

Man of steel, BVS, Justice League, and 300 have some of the greatest shots in modern film history in my opinion. They aren’t supposed to be just normal movies, they’re epics. Stories felt like they are from a time long ago and just the camera shots express that.

when it comes to cinematography, he's my idol. Nobody in Hollywood can beat him when it comes to cinematography. He is unmatched. Good thing 80% of my judgement on movies/TV shows is based on that! :)

And if there ever is a dislike or a few, it’s either a problem someone has with the director or movies featured in the video, not the video itself, or in some cases I’m guessing it was probably just someone on their phone who accidentally hit the dislike on their touchscreen.

Unpopular opinion: I actually really like Zack's style of directing and filming. So much so that his work, more specifically Justice League, has inspired me to wanna make a movie of my own to put on youtube. I have a few story concepts but I'm still not really sure on how I'll execute any of them, but the motivation has been there for some time now

For me the best part of zack's movies are the songs. Man, visuals and the songs always sync. The first 12 minutes from watchmen is one of the best I've seen.

I think he's the true successor to Ridley Scott. He makes beautiful looking movies, but not everyone will love them. But behind the camera is a true artist.
I would consider him as the true successor of Tony Scott. No disrespect to Ridley. The man is a genius, but I see something in Snyder's work that is similar to Tony Scott's work.

He's such a visionary, it would take hours to feature all the best ones he's created.

Snyder putting everything into his filmmaking to make it bigger, louder, more badass and most importantly absolutely stunning action. His movies are big, bombastic, and beautiful. His visual style is magnificent.... always demonstrating his godlike ability to show gods duke it out on screen (300: The film defined Snyder's visual style)
Zack Snyder's Justice League - You have to give the guy credit for seeing this thing through, for giving his vision of the film to his legions of fans and perhaps more importantly, Snyder deserves a standing ovation for proving Warner Bros and Joss Whedon wrong and making an infinitely better film than the version that was released in theaters. Hell, only he could be responsible for Warner Bros unprecedented decision to let him re-release his own version of a tentpole superhero epic after literal years of fan outrage.
The thing about Snyder..... he never gives up on his films, not for a moment. Snyder's visual style, bringing comics to life like a beautiful, violent, moving oil painting.

If michael bay had depth, but even then zack just shoots his movies differently
I would only compare him to Stanley Kubrick.
I mean, the only thing they have in common is the way they use visual noice to give more weight to certain scenes, and the love to spend thousands of dollars on questionable choices (The intro to Transformers the last knight for Bay, and the love for slow mo for Snyder).
Other than that, Snyder gets way more deep into his direction.
I feel like a better comparison would be Sam Raimi rather than Michael Bay

I love the moment with all the group shots because I think what Zack does is makes a real world filled with real people and has them beautifully work together and there’s a feeling of family and togetherness. I just watched the snyder cut yesterday and I LOVED IT!❤

The first film Zack Snyder shot himself ,was “Army of the Dead”. Everything before that ,he was not the cinematographer for, that includes the Snyder cut.
You could really see the similarities between many of these shots in the imagery of some parts of the movies like most notably between anything with Superman in it and shots from Watchmen, and also anything between anything with Batman in it and 300 as well. And of course the camera work in particular is unmistakable as Snyder’s and instantly recognizable. (I) Especially (like) here at 0:21 to 0:30 where the camera is focused on and tracking the movement of the hand of the protagonist wielding the weapon during the battle scene(s). I know it’s a common directing technique used by many but it’s still great the way he does it and looks amazing. Very well utilized. And of course all the 300 fight scenes are one of a kind. Great video as usual, thanks! P.S. I didn’t realize Snyder even directed many of these films. Some of these are my favorite movies of all time like Watchmen and 300 and I’m just now finding out it was the same person who made Justice League?? Crazy!

I will never understand the hate this man gets for his movies and the way he directs, There are so many golden shots and moments in his movies.
Zack Snyder is one of my favorite directors of all time. And, when it comes to cinematography and visual style, Snyder is definitely my number one. Such an underrated filmmaker who deserves more praise. Watchmen (Director's Cut) and the Dawn of Justice Trilogy are some of my personal favorite films. Can't wait for Army of the Dead!
