    Thanks for the informative video. I am up in Hanoi on a 90 day visa but I’m flying down to Danang in a couple of weeks. I am Charlie from Boston USA. I want to keep my house in America and I love Vietnam and of course the cost of living here. I was in Mexico last year, but I decided to give Vietnam a whirl. Cost-of-living much cheaper here than Mexico all around. People are friendly whether is tropical. See you soon. Thanks for everything you do.

      Hi Chaflie. How long are you planning to stay in Da Nang? I'll be back there on 30th May.

    • @charliemulligan1988

      Yes, I will be in or around Danang on the 30th. I am flying down from Hanoi with my Vietnamese girl on the 26th. I will see Hoi An and also HUE.. We only have 10 days to see all three I prefer more. I am a slow traveler, but she must get back to work.. I actually think we will be leaving denying the 29th 🤦‍♂️. But I appreciate your Videos and I would like to buy you a coffee if I am in Danang while you are there

    When he's talking about the noise like "karaoke" he is not joking. Noise pollution in Da Nang is serious business and if you choose the wrong area they will have parties until 4 AM that shake your home like the thunderbolts of Thor. Then construction begins at 5 AM.

    Hi we are from your neck of the woods with a view of Penshaw Monument lol, we are traveling January to Vietnam's Da Nang, looking to stay off the main drag back just a little 5 min off the my khe beach not on top of bars but a short taxi 6-7 min, as a keen traveller to Asia, a day trip to Hoi an is about as much as hubby will endure with mass tourism in a small town, any advice.

      @AlwaysonaJourney  Před měsícem +1

      Hello. I think An Thuong or Son Tra would both be good areas to stay in. They are both very close to My Khe Beach. :-)

      Placed a booking with Agoda the Cardile Grand, hotel 1year old , every thing is just a grab taxi taking about 7min, or is that an exaggeration, looked at the district you said but looked more younger vibe, need comfort for the old bones,

    I have never been to Vietnam only Thailand
    Is it similar?

    • @AlwaysonaJourney
      @AlwaysonaJourney  Před měsícem +1

      Vietnam and Thailand are both Southeast Asian countries with beautiful scenery, delicious food, and rich cultures here is the comparison:
      Similarities:
      * Beaches: Both countries boast stunning coastlines with beaches ranging from lively to secluded.
      * Buddhist influence: Buddhism is a major religion in both Vietnam and Thailand, reflected in their temples and cultural traditions.
      * Southeast Asian cuisine: Both offer flavorful Southeast Asian cuisine, but with distinct variations. Vietnamese food is known for its fresh ingredients, herbs, and lighter broths, while Thai cuisine is famous for its curries, chilies, and bold flavors.
      Differences:
      * Landscape: Vietnam's landscape is more diverse, with mountains, rice paddies, rivers, and beaches. Thailand has more jungles and islands.
      * Culture: Vietnam has a more recent history of war and political upheaval, which has shaped its culture. Thailand has a longer history of monarchy and a more laid-back culture.
      * Cost: Vietnam is generally more affordable than Thailand, especially for accommodation and food.
