    To be completely honest, I seen the video at first and I was like oh I can do this with no rest, but I just got done doing it and I will tell you. It is a great endurance work out just pure amazing. It really does take the energy out of you and put a reality check on your gains. I highly suggest this to every one!

    Did this routine 7 months ago (in 6:17 at 95lbs) and just did it again (at 105lbs), this time in 5:06. Def'ly a great blend of strength and cardio but more importantly a mental strengthener.

    @RiverSparks Před 7 lety +43

    This workout is actually great, just don't rush yourself, and you'll be in great shape if you do this everyday.
    This isn't meant for HUGE gains, it's meant to lose fat while gaining muscle. If you want to be big and slow, look up body building workouts, otherwise, don't complain about how the workout is setup.
    P.S. Don't look up how to workout and say "That's not how you workout". If you know so much, then why are you here?

    Here is what I don't like about crossfit. First off, there is nothing inherently wrong with deadlifts, cleans, pullups, and such. It becomes "wrong" when it turns into a race. This is when bad forms and injuries happen when whoever gets the most reps wins. Bad form is bad because it is not developing the targeted muscles and also causes injuries on those powerlifts.

    • @Kevinakevinakevina
      @Kevinakevinakevina Před 8 lety +3

      +GooseHinson It doesn't mean it's a "race" every time you workout. You workout and train so you are ABLE TO perform these movements more efficiently and faster and still maintain good form.

    Crossfit is great for flexibility, mobility and injury prevention. It doesn't bulk you up but tones you up and helps build definition. I've found that doing this as well as bodybuilding has helped my endurance and stamina a lot.

  • @robertanthony9079

    I've been training on Athlean-X for a year and talking to a friend about crossfit. I kinda paid attention to their description of what they did for workouts, but only NOW did I look into it to see what it is all about. I am SHOCKED at how risky this program appears to be...just on the surface.
    I am in damn good shape now and I NEVER had to do anything that would even come close to causing me injury. My elbows and shoulders would be toast if I did the workout in such poor form like I have seen from multiple crossfit vids (it seems to me the BIGGER IS BETTER and MORE IS BETTER ideals that are being pushed by this program go way too far). If you want to look good and be in great shape there are great alternatives that are much much safer than crossfit (Athlean-X is just one of them). Why the hell would the majority of people want to "lift like an Olympian" when their goals is not to lift X amount of weight in X number of reps but to be fit, healthy and stay that way for a lifetime! Damn...just damn!

    • @michaelorsini9695
      @michaelorsini9695 Před 6 lety +1

      I totally agree! Crossfit is BIG BUSINESS and appeals to elitist macho snobs. The sad part is Cross fitters are doing their body's neuromuscular damage over the long haul...which is why you see very few older Cross fitters.

      My family members and a lot of people from my community work in Labor and constructions. They say at young age until 40 your body is capable of doing a lot of shit like working 12 to 16 hours a day but most injury symptoms start showing up after age 40 then by age 50 you are fully fucked. Let them do this shit and their bones will start crying later in their life

    the bodybuilders in this comment section need to chill. I'm a bodybuilder myself and extremely despise when I am part of a group that harps on another group for doing something a different way. If it doesn't affect you and it works, why argue with it?

    • @newts4719
      @newts4719 Před 4 lety +6

      Agreed. Same history. Add Powerlifting though, to my history. This form of training is extremely challenging. It makes a trainee extremely honest with their performance. No mirrors and no long breaks looking at a mobile phone. If you can do deadlifts using 140kg with other exercises - and no break - your body will look like it uses 140kg for training. It's just a by product. Lots of trainees get lost in the world of mirrors when performance with give them the aesthetics they are looking for.

    This is crazy, ever since I was 16 I trained very similar to this. People in the gym looked at me like an idiot as I would jump from exercises to exercise without doing the classic 3x sets of 10 of one particular exercise\apparatus. Instead I would bench, then hit the chin-ups, dips, then back to bench etc. If only I knew it could be turned into a multi-million dollar business ;-( I decided to ignore the recommended practise and instead listened to what my body found to be most stimulating and beneficial.

    I see so many people hating on this guy's form. Is it traditional? no. But look at the guys build, he's in pretty good shape! Not everybody wants to be HUGE like a body builder and nobody is going to use the same exact method. And maybe he does know the "correct" technique but uses it on days that are planned specifically for strength, no cardio. People, just do whatever works for you and know your limits but also challenge yourself safely.

    just to clarify, with olympic grade rubberised plates, so long as you arent just lifting with 5 kilos either side (as they aren't quite strong enough), theyre designed to be dropped, hence why theyre rubberised. with old olympic plates, no, but with these, fine.

      Marcus Carvalho And I'm saying that this guy is a terrible presenter of the exercises. The dude has no legs and his muscles are clearly atheistic, which is the opposite of what CF is about. That is 155 lbs and he is making it look like its 405 on the DLs and 225 on the cleans. I'm not hating on CF, I'm hating in this idiot.

    Have you tried Alpino oats, specifically the chocolate flavor? It's delicious and ready to eat without any baking required. It's the best oats I've ever had!

    I hate when ppl moan about crossfit and 'it's not real bodybuilding' nonsense! Crossfit isn't designed for muscle building per se, it's a power/conditioning/fat burning workout, you need to build the muscle the regular way before crossfitting FFS!
    I use crossfit training for the three above benefits (when on a cut) and HST for building muscle (when on a bulk)...

    I did my first CrossFit session today. Before coming in, my friends and I would laugh and make jokes about CrossFit. We thought it was dumb and that it was a good way to injure yourself. I was completely wrong. As someone who can rep 315 on bench and squat rep 405 at 12% body fat, CrossFit kicked my butt today. The reason is because they throw cardio in between each sets of exercise making lifting weights an entire different story. There was only 225 on the bar when I was doing deadlifts, but I was breathing so hard from my 400 meter run that I had trouble repping 225 12 times on deadlifts. Sure I got all 12 reps, but it wasn’t as easy because I ran 400 meters the fastest I could. I didn’t have any breaks in between sets or between my runs either. Only got a couple second break to sip some water. However, I still believe CrossFit does not gain you strength faster over lifting at the gym like from body building routines. I know for a fact because I had a friend who started CrossFit the same time I started lifting weights. After a year, I was benching well over 100 pounds more then he can and squatting way more then my friend who did CrossFit for a year straight. The only difference is that my friend has endurance when it comes to cardio over me. He can’t beat me on anything else besides that. Also, I told the gym instructor I refuse to do kip pull ups because I do believe it will fuck up my shoulders. Overall CrossFit is good, but it won’t give you the fast results of having an aesthetic body like bodybuilding does though. If you want to look good for the beach fast or look aesthetic fast, bodybuilding is the way to go. I was the only one that had an aesthetic body at my CrossFit session when people there have been doing it for years. Then again, it could be their diets. They still kicked my ass when it comes to cardio. Strength wise, that’s a different story because I could easily lift more then everyone there by a long shot. Also, my CrossFit gym is not an 24 hour gym. You can’t just come when you want like with an 24 hour time to work out

    I thought their pull ups were stupid at first like a lot of people here. But then someone actually explained why they Kipp and it makes sense.
