Tolya is a good, hardworking man . I'm concerned that he is doing all the work without a good mask and safety goggles. He should be using safety equipment and his friend too.
I worry too about that especially if there's asbestos. When disturbed, tiny abrasive asbestos fibers are easily inhaled, which damages lung tissue and can cause cancer. Maybe I am just being a worrywart?
I agree ! Breathing in a lot of bad stuff ! So bad for your lungs ! Will pay for it later ! Please cover your mouth and nose ! We Love you and want you to be around a long time !
I agree!!
Agree! Such a daunting renovation and Tolya and friend are doing amazing work BUT please wear a hard hat, as well a good mask and safety goggles!!!
@@Elizabeth-aka-PippiI think it was checked but the house is not that old, Vika mentioned at some point. By the time the house was built I donât think people used asbestos anymore. Plus, in different countries, people use different construction materials.
For exemple, I was surprised to hear that people from America donât know what aerocrete is, itâs not really used there but very popular here.
So nice to see a family like yours on youtube, two normal, hardworking people building their future from the ground up. Such a breath of fresh air in the current youtube scene
Iâm sure the girls will be very proud when they can watch these videos and realise this is the house that dad (pretty much) built. Itâs coming together so well!!
We just found your utube channel and are addicted to you and your dear family. We love learning about you and your life. We are all the same !!! I had my children young...I am 73 now and have 5 grandchildren. I loved having my kids young but then I was never interested in "partying". Good Luck with your house!!! We love you!
What an unbelievable amount of work! I'm sure he has moments where he's overwhelmed and wanting to give up but he's impressing all of us with his determination and willingness to learn and take on such a mountainous task. He's a rockstar!
I always thought I overpaid for the house I live in now, that I purchased new. Iâm beginning to think I was wrong! I was exhausted just watching this video! So grateful for Tolya and Paulâs strong backs!
That time lapse with the scythe was VERY satisfying !! Such hard work for Tolya and his friend. :))
Yes it is
This renovation series should be watched more than it is now! You deserve it more than anyone else guys. You did everything by yourself wow! I hope everything will be perfect at the end. Please be careful đđœ
What a great man, husband and father! Fixing a home for you all! I'm so happy he has help! Thank you, Paul! Praying for you all! Cannot wait to see what comes of all his hard work. And you! Taking care of the babies alone. No small feat, itself.
Great man, husband and father! đđđ
this is a wonderful little family ! So glad they put God first ! He will continue to guide their path ! All things are possible with God !
He is amazing!
This is so exciting! What are the fruit trees in the garden?
I agreeâŠincredible â€
Toyla was not wearing a mask a number of times in this video and that really concerned me. When removing plaster, etc, he needs to be careful. That could really hurt his lungs! Please encourage him to be careful. Your family is lovely and I wish all the best for you.
How does Tolya know how to do all these things?! My goodness, he is very capable! I also liked the part with the scythe - you don't see people do that anymore. I will pray for strength, endurance, and good health for Tolya and Paul, and for confidence and patience for you and the kids! I hope all is well in your area of the world, if you know what I mean.
Having watched 40 years of This Old House episodes I have to admit that This Old Russia House has me a bit anxious. Itâs reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie. I wish you a safe and healthy home once it is completed. (Encourage him to wear his mask any time heâs working with plaster dust.)
(Georgia)
Depending on when house was built, it could have been an Old Russian house ?
Norm Abrahms is a god!
@@SIC647Is it Georgia? I thought they were in Armenia
Itâs s lovely to watch the progress but please tell Tolia to wear a mask ! So much dust cannot be healthy!!!
Tolya really should think about wearing some sort of mask when ripping out that old plaster. I'm in the United States, so I don't know what kinds of things were used in the past when making plaster in other parts of the world, but it could contain dangerous materials (like asbestos as binding agent) that you certainly don't want to breathe.
Love your videos! Hope you're all staying safe and healthy!
Please Vika, they need to be wearing eye goggles to protect their eyes from all that debris but WOW!!!!! How does Tolya know what to do? AMAZING!
I have good memories of growing up in a home that was built with the help of friends, relatives and most of my parentâs church. I remember my grandfather, father and uncle cutting down trees after they decided where the house would be built. Many of those trees went to the lumberyard to be cut into the right size and length of boards for building. The branches became firewood which kept us warm for a long time. We were busy planting our orchard and pine trees, before the house was built.
On long evenings after work and on weekends, people would come over to help. Those who didnât know what to do were taught by the older and more experienced people. It took a long time, and the first winter we lived in the basement, but we had running water and electricity. The next year the above ground part of the house was finished. I remember being old enough to learn how to hammer nails, and be my dadâs helper when he wired the house. It helped that we had relatives who did various work such as home construction, make heating ductwork, installing vents and furnaces, plumbing etc. It was very interesting to watch the process, as a young child! I was especially fascinated by the plumbing and bricklaying, and got to help with simple things. 5 of my grandparents were also very involved, so we made many wonderful memories.
I still remember watching both of my grandfathers work on the rustic beam mantle that went over the fireplace. Itâs amazing to still see the marks they put in the wood, so many decades ago, long after they are both gone!
Iâm very thankful your husband has a friend to help- Many hands make light work!
I pray your daughters will have good memories of growing up in this house. If they can keep up this piece of work, it looks like it wonât be too long before you can move in! đđđœđ»đĄđšâđ©âđ§âđ§
Nurse here⊠Vica⊠you need to tell Tolya (and anybody helping) to wear a mask during all that work involving dust and debris. Heâs going to get sick with respiratory issues, along the way, if he (or they) doesnât.
This house transformation journey are legit the high points of my day
Oh, I'm glad he had some help as well as company! It's great it is being documented. The girls can watch it when they're older and see how much Daddy loved them to make a home for them. :)
Wow look at Tolya.. His working his fingers to the bone!! Great that he has his friend Paul to help!! Such a huge job!! It will all be worth it in the end! And hope your ok with those babies Vika. It's not easy managing on your own. Your both doing so well!!! đ
What a great man toyla is and his friend too for helping good work guys
This is the way houses were built back in rural areas during the pioneer days before building codes and professional this and that. Often neighbours would come and help with the work in between their cow milking & other farm chores. There were also barn raisings accomplished in the same way. The Amish & Mennonites were very talented at doing those. My late dadâs brick two story farm house was constructed much the same way with changes made over the years to upgrade it to modern needs. Building codes became important later on because of shyster builders who just did construction to grab money from the owners and didnât care about the safety factors. Hope this will work out for this lovely family and they will be able to stay there until a better opportunity comes along. I canât imagine having to pull up stakes and move because of the actions of oneâs Countryâs leadership and having to move around until another more permanent home situation can be found. Bravo to this loving family. Prayers for their safety.
đđđđ
That's going to be an amazing house if it's properly restored. They are going to struggle with the renovation, without professional workmen. Id love a project like this but the stress and sheer amount of money needed, for a job like this, would probably finish me off đ
I pray the house is safe ! Do you have structural engineers there who could take a look? The walls donât seem well supported đź
Agree...made comment before that the lads have worked hard but the building practices wouldnt pass building code in too many places and the electrical work is also not up to normal standards but I guess inspections are probably not too common in that part of the world and I just hope the family are safe in the house once completed.
They don't show or record everything, so I hope they did enough research and don't just go by logic and YT videos. I am also aware that in many countries they don't have high standards regarding these things, but it can be dangerous if planned wrong. For example, plugs in bathrooms or cables behind a thin plaster. I'm also worried about asbestos, as many older buildings have that, and it can cause real health damage; Tolya and everyone should definitely wear a mask, as it's been said here many times, because even with just dust, lung problems are very common.
Your husband is doing a great job ! He is very talented ! Glad he has a friend helping out ! That is certainly a lot of work , but will be beautiful when finished ! I will be anxiously waiting to see the rest of it come along !
Toula and friend are doing such an amazing job! I renovated a small property in the UK about 10 years ago and we call the filler to fill large holes 'crazy foam'. đ
congratulations to Tolya and his friend Paul for their hardwork!!!
Heâs doing amazingly and I canât wait to see how it all turns out! but at the same time this whole thing scares me. Especially the electrical wiring. Where I live itâs illegal to do DIY electrical jobs because itâs dangerous if itâs not done 100% perfectly! I hope he knows what heâs doing..
I don't know how Tolya keeps going with a smile on his face, with this amount of work! And he is only able to do it because you are being a superhero solo mom back home. One day your daughters will watch these videos and feel unbelievably proud of their parents! I love the terazzo floors and hope you keep them. Replastering will be very labor-intensive so I hope he can enlist a lot of help. In the end, I really hope it will be a wonderful place to grow and raise your little family. I hope the locals are welcoming and you can find friends and community there. Maybe other Russian families will move nearby and you can repopulate the village :) I wish you all the best!
Tolya is amazing! So much hard work! You have a good husband! Loved hearing the chickens and cows in the background đâ€
You really took on a hard project!! Good for you! And you are working under difficult circumstances, no electric saw, mower none of the convenient tools to help and make the job go faster and easier we take them for granted here in the states!! You are my heroes! My grandmother was from Odessa, I'm very saddened to see all this tragedy happening to wonderful people. Take care of your little ones and good luck, I can't wait to see the, "after"!!
Some of the floor tiles are actually pretty cool
So much progress has been done, the new windows are very nice. Those views are amazing!
What a great husband and father. Plus, goes to âȘïž đ Church. The two of you are blessed and highly favored. đ you , mama are doing a fantastic job at motherhood and being a fabulous wife. â€
I enjoy watching the work being done and can't wait to see the finished product. They sure are working hard.
That was so satisfying to watch!! Your husband is such a hard worker and his friend also. I love this kind of content! I canât wait to see it all finished! I donât mean to be negative, but I wish Tolya would wear a mask when heâs in all that construction dust to protect his lungs. God bless you all in this endeavor!!
With a little help of a friend. (I think there is a song like that) The thing they used when mixing the cement - we use the same gadget to keep the dough the same at our church bazaars when baking pancakes. This is the one item people buy in dozens, there are usually lots of people standing in line. One of the men built an iron frame for 7 people to bake at a time - all using the same big gas bottle. Each person has a task. The one keep the bowls with the pancake mixture full. Another person collect the baked pancakes and two people sprinkle it with sugar and cinnamon, two people stand on the other side and roll the hot pancakes to fill the polystyrene trays with the number of tickets the people bought. I love it! The sugar and cinnamon is too little for me.
Back to your house. It's going to look beautiful! And yes, CZcams have tutorials for anything - from building to embroidery. I always look out for a new video of you. Hope you and 'my' two loving girls are doing fine. đ„°đ„° With love †from South Africa
Toyla seems to be a man of great patience. They are working so hard! It will be a nice place to live soon. In the country, lovely villiage. Perfect place for children to grow up. I grew up on a farm - wonderful childhood.
I love your videos as they give first person point of view of different parts of the world - it's so interesting to discover new things with you and your family! However, as admirable as Toyla's hard work is, seeing him work without proper safety equipment is really worriesome. The shot of him taking away a brick while a drill was still going through the wall was an injury waiting to happen. Beyond youtube tutorials, I hope you're following any building codes and safety regulations in place. Trying to look out for you!
What a beautiful thing to be literally building his family a home with his own hands!!
You've made wonderful progress! This will be a beautiful home when you are done.
You have such a good man, husband, father and you are such a good woman, wife and mother. The house is going to be great, I just know it! Much love from the US â€ïž
Blessings to a great friend! I know it's much more difficult to film but I just love watching this. From Central Texas.
Wow, hello dear friends, Vika & Tolya! I am so excited about your house and land. On camera the rooms look large. It is so nice of Paul, to help Tolya, with the house renovation. While the yard work was being done, I imagined a nice vegetable garden, play area for the girls, and BBQ/ sitting area to enjoy the outdoors! So many possibilities. I enjoy watching the repairs and can only imagine the day when your family will live in your new house. How exciting to remodel your house to your liking. You both have such great work ethics, nice family, and am praying God, to safeguard your health. Seems like there is always something to attend to in everyday life. You both are young, hard workers and with a young family. Please remember to take time to relax together when you can. Ty for continuing to share peeks into your life. Continuing to lift all your needs to God and asking Him to bless and protect you. Sending â€â€â€â€and hugs to all. Love, your American friend, CarrieJo/North Carolina/USAđ
Time to re-read the beautiful passages in Tolstoy's Anna Karenina when Levin learns to mow the fields with a scythe!
Can't wait to see the transformation.....It's so much hard work renovating a house, but I think worth it. It will be lovely waking up to that cockerel every morning!!
So much respect for Tolya taking on such an immense project! So much hard labor and learning. And respect to you for going it alone with your daughters! You both are very practical, hard working people and I wish you all the best! And I agree with other commenters- Tolya needs a proper respirator and goggles!!
Vika!!! Wow, it looks like you all are now dedicating so much effort now to renovating houses! But I am not surprised at all that you and Tolya would be selflessly helping someone else in need. Take care!
I love watching the house renovation! They are doing such a great job!
You two are amazing.
Vika, you are going to have the most lovely home. The view from that window is so peaceful. The girls will have space to grow, and your family will have so many memories.
"stEP BACK" *barges in with his hammer* xD
Great job, itâs so much work but will be worth it when itâs all done . Youâll have a lovely warm home to enjoy
You need an Amazon wish list link so I can send them protective eyewear! đ I got so nervous when they took the walls down and used hammer for water pipes. (But then remembered had anything happened you wouldnât be posting a video lol)
When they were drilling through the wall I put my phone up to my face to look thru the hole!đđđ. They're doing a great job and itstons of work but it will be so worth it in the end! God bless y'all! Love from Teri in Texas! đđđ„đâïžđ«â€ïž
He is really learning so many skills. He will either love this and it is the start of a new career....or he will never do this ever again. ;-)
I'm glad your husband is working with someone. It should make things go more smoothly and safer. Wonderful videođâ€.
The construction looks very nice, wonderful idea of having your own home, congratulations!
There you go đđđteamwork đđđđđ
I am amazed that only your husband and his friend are doing so much work. He must be tired when he comes home. Iâm amazed that the even know how. Great job guys!!
Such respect for that hard work
The worst room will become beautiful. Such hard working men. Your house is coming along and will be a nice home!
The garden will be lovely! Are the trees there fruit trees? I can imagine you and Tolya having a cold drink under a parasol and the kids playing around in the garden. â€
A wonderful husband, taking care of his family and working so hard!
Excellent!! your husband is a real super hero husband. Your house will look lovely when it's finished. Already looking Good...im amazed they know what to do! But that's the blessing of God, it's very satisfying to watch. exciting xx
Such a hard working man. So glad Toyla had help. Still wish he would wear a mask and safety glasses when he does certain work.
I am glad you are still working on that house. I will watch this video when I'm resting today.
Nice! Canât wait to see the finished house. Sooo much work! Toyla is amazing.
A miracle in the making! Two very hard working men. Glad Tolya has help.
You as a family should be very proud of yourselves, well done đ

I cannot wait to see the house when Tolya finishes. It is going to be gorgeous!!!!!!
I am choking and wheezing and rubbing the dust from my eyes just watching them through this video, hahaha..... Looks like fun and I wish I was there helping out and volunteering my time
Wow. Toyla and Paul are just amazing! I wonder how much you guys would spend if you had contractors come and do the work for youđČ The Lord bless you guys! You are all amazing
Not only is this hard, back-breaking work, the fact that they know what they are doing blows my mind. How and where did they learn how to do this type of work? My brother canât even put a nail in the wall to hang a picture! I guess itâs a God-given talent. I just donât know! âșïž
Tolya & Paul worked soooo hard! Well done guys!
What a hard working pair of men! Itâs an amazing process to watch
I like watching the renovations on the house , Your husband works hard , you found a good man there Victoria. Looking forwards to the next update đ
I love this content! Great work!
My Russian neighbors are the same, I don't think there is anything they can't do! Roofing, fencing, siding, car restoration, you name it!

Itâs going to be so lovely!
Its gonna be wonderful home!!!!â
Theyâre doing a great job! Hard work!
WOW - just WOW - incredible job!
Great work Paul and Tolya! Blessings and good wishes your way
I cringe when I see some of his construction techniques but one thing no one can ever doubt is what a hard worker Tolya is. And he must really love his family to do all this to give you all a good home.
Agree,,,the Electrical work is a real worry, needs conduit and trunking where its exposed on the wall and those joins with tape at the junction box wouldnt pass code anywhere but I appreciate its a bit different to Western living over there and building standards are different.
@@markwilliams-ny6tr I don't think this would pass an inspection in Georgia either. It really feels they're not taking any of this very seriously and treat it more like a game. Like they know they're not gonna live there, so they might as well do a little bit of stuff here and there to film some content. You know, do the easy no-cost stuff like ripping out the floors instead of tackling the more important and more expensive issues like having their foundation and walls looked at and fixing that leaky roof.
Since she seemed very put off by the village from the start and also keeps talking about leaving Georgia/selling the house, I wonder if their current plan is to work on the house for the summer to create content and then try to flip it for a higher price because of the "improvements" they made.
â@@teekatze8577i pity the next person who buys it.
What a good team! It's starting to come together. đ
Overwhelmed just imagining the amount of work! Kudos to Tolya!
I loved this, looking forward to seeing more. That home is going to be so nice!!!!
I love watching the progress, so excited for you guys! đ
