WES THEME SONG: open.spotify.com/album/7qpQ0k... (By Eric Vanier)
Wes Barker is a Canadian magician and comedian doing funny tricks, and telling great stories. You may (or may not) know me from my TV show Big Trick Energy. Watch here for hilarious, ridiculous, and unfiltered ideas with magic, stunts, and pranks. I am the funniest magician that is also a stand-up comic, or maybe I'm the comic who is best at magic. Either way you get the idea. I tour all over doing colleges, comedy clubs, and corporate events. Catch the adventures and tricks right here. With this magician / comedian from Vancouver, based out of Toronto, Canada. I make funny stuff. That’s my only rule. Everything has to be funny, from street magic to stage illusions, as long as there is a joke to be made. I do magic tricks, sketches, stand-up comedy, card tricks, mind reading, and tricks with naked people. I’ve been on America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, MTV Greatest Party Stories Ever, and Wizard Wars. You can find me pulling pranks on friends, gags on strangers, or just general sleight of hand, magic, illusions, and the occasional bar bet. Wes Barker also hosts a podcast with Chris Ramsay called Bottom Of The Barrel. Go check it out! - Zábava
That was a very clean cartwheel
Chris should dress up more often it suits him
I see what you did there lol
All three buttons closed on a 3 button suit... Lol
I was making that Velma Joke too 😂😂😂😂 but Chris looked like he was late to his barbershop quartet
Well, I just watched it.... I love you too buddy... Even though you just said it to counter balance the herding cat comment but it's ok. At least I had a SICK outfit on and didn't look like a frustrated lesbian at a ski lodge oxo
Stay down Velma!...err, Wes! That's at least a standing 8 count!
Frustrated lesbian at a ski lodge!!! This has to be the funniest thing I've ever seen! 😂😂😂😂😂
Velma is NOT frustrated...she and Daphne love each other and care about each other.
Probably would have got the high five had he not looked like Velmas twin brother.
@@MitchellTF idk she has that man hate frustration towards Fred definitely, while shag and scoob are not a threat, she is more chill with them.
The fact that you did a cartwheel at the end of the trick made it all for me😄
That blue suit n red bow tie. Chris being all fancy.
The bunny did serve a purpose. To be something cute and FLUFFY to look at til you guys came into the shot. 😉🙃🐇🐰
Poor Wes. That loud AF turtle neck and then left hanging on the high five.
🖐 I got you.
I wish I was as high as I was that day!!! #AlexLovesDoves
Lol Eric
#AlexLovesDoves #Alexshavedhead #Ericthechamp
I swear Eric lecelrc is aging backwards. Snowball did great but Eric lecelrc did better.
@@catcat6008 Eric will do better than Alex when they fight. Can't wait to see that.
That card tower looked like fun.
The self high five🤣🙏🏼
😂
Snowball is so cute!!
Love these videos!!
Love these cold open breakdowns-- actually all your content-- your skits w Kristen, making cool catapults etc-- Keep up the amazing work Wes, you have quickly become my favorite channel on CZcams, great stuff!!
Wes your cartwheel was impressive and should Cirque du Soleil ever decide to do a Scooby-Doo themed show you are a shoe in for Thelma. Thanks for the great entertainment and the behind the scenes look. Love these.
So happy that BTE is on Netflix!! Congrats guys!! I'm loving the show, the magic, and the humour is hitting! Félicitations les gars !! J'espère qu'il va y avoir une deuxième saison !
Little flash at 44 secs. Gotta love it lol you guys keep up the hustle. absolutely incredible!
Great fun sir. Thank you.
♠️ Love these! Looking forward to the next one! 🖤
Really enjoy these weekly episodes, they add so much to the trick. Very excited that BTE is on Netflix Canada! I binged the complete season on Saturday, after the little heads up from BoB... always good info to be found at the Bottom of the Barrel!
I was a little confused why the stunt magician didn’t do the stunt until you explained the best way to keep up with Eric is to strap him down
Force of thought. Great deck.
Yet another amazing explanation to an amazing trick❣️💚
Another epic trick!
Another epic attempt from Wes trying to mathematically explain where he fits in with the team.
Love it!!!
Hahaha
@@WesBarker you still ROCK AND ROLL ALL DAY LONG!!
Binged the entire season in one evening. LOVED every bit! (the bobs make so much sense now lol) #bringbackFeedback
Jinkies!
😂
y'all look amazing, man! great trick
You guys are amazing. Love your vids all of u
Thanks for the heart. It means a lot to me to know you read my message.
Wes remember Thelma was actually the smart one 😁 so there is that
so good!
I was stoked to see you guys in Big Trick Energy on the Magic1 channel here in South Africa.
Awesome 😎 thanks brother 🙏
What freaked me out was I thought of ace of spades before he even flipped through them
Most common card, when people are asked to choose a card, is Ace of Spades, or Ace of Hearts, or Queen of Hearts.
Ace of spades is in the thumbnail. I thought of it b/c of the thumbnail.
@@AndyCotgreave Not the three of clubs?
I picked the ace of diamonds, and then I saw that they were forcing the ace of spades, so I stuck with ace of diamonds. I was hoping that they would do something that would require a change in selection.
Not gonna lie, when I watched this episode I didn't notice the card tower appearing until the explanation in the end credits and I was like "Holy shit, they made a card tower appear!?" I was way too focused on the Ace of Spades, I thought you messed it up since the Ace was the last card and usually the force is a card in the middle of the deck.
When I saw it here for the first time and I saw the ace in the deck of cards, the first thing that I thought was “that’s a force card” 😂
I hope more beyond the 10 will be created. These are awesome👍
Here you go Wes 🙋♂️🖐 Im not let you hanging! 😂🤣😂
Its cool to figure it out and then see it at the end how it’s really done.
Obviously Snowballs job was to inspire the soundtrack. White Rabbit is such a creepy great song.
That high five was hilarious 😂
You said you don't speak in any of the opens but you all were actually speaking in the Buster Keaton inspired trick with the falling wall and pop up restaurant.
They don't talk to/instruct the audience.
He also said he didn't know they were going to use their dialogue until they saw it. They thought they were just going to be talking gibberish and it wouldn't be used in the final take.
Self high five, best self help ever! 😂😂😂
Grate job!👍
Whis for more like this stuf in future.
I love the white bun-bun!
However, the producer or the director had it out for you! FACTS! :D You got a dirty bathtub, now your clothes!
Wardrobe did you dirty 🤣
Nice work, Valma.
Also, I did see the force.
I was expecting it and I'm not sure of the mechanics of how you do it but it was obvious enough to me that it was a force.
BTW, would love to see a detailed walk though of how to do the force.
@@35manning This one is dead simple. There's no shuffle (fake or real) of any kind, so you know where the Ace is. The last TWO cards are actually the Ace of Spades. "All" Chris had to do (not that it's easy, he's a magician and it still apparently took multiple tries), is to flip through the rest of the deck really fast, and then hold the Ace. This video is at 24 fps. The entire card trick lasts 30 frames (1.25 seconds), You see the second to last card (one Ace) at the 25th frame, and then 5 more frames of the last card (the second Ace). This works out to .25 seconds, or 20% of the entire trick, making it a high probability that's the card you see.
Very nice trick! I can imagine an alternative way to do it - needs big mirror that can rotate 45 degrees, miniature of this card house that will be reflected in the mirror after rotation and the third magician who is sitting on top of the tower, far from the mirror. Kind of mix of Schüfftan process and forced perspective. I wish to see more illusions with mirrors, Wes!
Season 1 was awesome :) :) :)
I think who ever was in charge of costumes had a grudge against you for some reason LOL
Such a cool cold open 🤟. The amount of work that goes into these cold opens is incredibly impressive - and so worth it (for the viewer at least 🤣). Loving these uploads Wes .. much appreciated man 🙏🏻. And hey - who wouldn't wanna look like Velma? 🤷♂️😂 Great job by all, especially Snowball 🐰. He/she rocked (loving the Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit" vibes with the music 🤟).
Oh I enjoyed this one very much! And you also looked great. A bit weird, but great. ;-)
Eric's job looks fun
Legend!! 🤙✌️
What i really need explained is where does one go in order to acquire such massive playing cards? Also you guys look like you got dressed up for a Wes Anderson film.
I saw the ace of spades, awesome trick. The giant card tower itself made me forget about my card I was so blown away by it appearing
Your background is progressing very nicely.
Haaaa. You did look like Velmas' male doppelganger.
One way to do it (but probably would take some editing or camera trickery) would be to make it look like force perspective building the card house on a table, then having someone sit on top of the tower.
Interesting bit on the percentages there on the force, I knew a force was coming and decided to just pick the first card I saw (queen of diamonds) to see if that's where the force was, it wasn't but it did get me thinking about what percentage of the audience might simply be sitting there going "WTF? that's not the card I picked" ... so much so that I really didn't realize that there was this huge structure that wasn't there before, which in itself was the best part of that trick, it wasn't until you were explaining it that I realize "wait that wasn't there before?"
That music makes me think of the Alice in Wonderland song in Sucker Punch. Very cool.
Heard on B.O.B. BTE was on Netflix binged it so hard, love it!!!
It was queen of ♥️
I saw the queen of diamonds, then the ace of spades, then I was like... wait, this is a force, so they probably WANT me to pick the ace of spades, it seemed like that was up there longer... :P
Poor Wes with his Velma Dinkley turtleneck and unrequited high-five...
True! The ace was shown for five frames, while most cards were only shown for one frame each. Since the deck started with the queen of diamonds, it was shown for four frames. I actually thought of ten of spades and when I went back to look, both black tens were next to each other tricking me to think that ten of spades got more screen time.
The first thing I thought when I heard the music for this bit, it is very reminiscent of "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. So I thought it was chosen exactly for that reason.
I love you boys, but Snowball stole the show! 😍
Damn, Chris shuffled through the cards so fast I could memorize only the aces at the end :p I hate that trick, but it works on me 80% time even if I try to remember what other cards I saw.
Sheeesshhh
Glad Snowball didn't get squashed by the base of the tower when it went up! How long did it take the set builders to make the rather impressive card tower? What did they make it out of, pretty strong stuff from the look of it... Seems pretty dangerous for Eric too - how did they keep the tower from going too far forward and sending him to the ground? Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
I think it's cool but I feel there's something missing in the reveal, like a drone swing by the card tower, so you can see how cool it looks, you can't really tell that they are fully printed giant cards.
Also it being so late in the day makes the colors look kinda weird.
That orange turtleneck is bomb. Don't pay attention to the Thelma comparisons.
I love the tricks on here but I saw the Queen of Diamonds in the shuffle as well as the Ace and picked the Queen of Hearts. I do see how the Ace was forced but when Chris riffled through the deck I said a different card. Either way, great trick and love and respect what you all do.
Sorry, I said hearts in the second part of the sentence but I'm sure it was Diamonds. LOL Either way I saw a red queen but now when I rewatch it my eyes now always see the Ace.
ericleric i bet likes his part hes gonna get a rush flying up in the air i like his energy he males it fun
At first I thought you're forcing the 7 Diamond: Snowball's eye, shirts, bow tie, Chris's wrist, the back of the cards and the front color
I didn't think of Velma when I saw you, but I thought of Conan Edogawa when I saw Chris.
Was this episode of BTE the last episode?
Lol wes’s outfit looking like Velma from scooby doo 😂😂 I woulda been pissed
Edit: nvm Wes said it himself lol
Wes, I’ll add a layer (only cause I can) Thelmalue from the Andy Griffith show of the six-tees. You know….. from Mayberry.
Damn dude. Im really peeved about that high five. I feel the emotion, the run up, the elation, the comraderi, and then B.A.M. .......nothin. all that pent up excitement. Honestly, i think i would have smacked the back of someones heads ...accidently.....you know just to finish the emotional ride. Home like.
@WES Barker buddy!
Beautiful brougham!
Broseph! Broski! Bad ass Bromance Braddah! 😆
Anyway,
You Know what would have been EVEN SWEETER!?
If you had someone Paint the landscape on the plywood bottom of the card tower!!!
You could've held the cards up for the "Stand-up" all the same, but wouldn't have needed to keep it so tight in the beginning.
"Camouflage magic!"
However, Love it anyway, and always! Deuces Blue Spruces 💙
Expressive face guy, lol!!
Dude! Chris is doing that magician from India, the dude with the doves! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for showing how this works. So neat. I know you’re upset about your clothes, but realize you STAND OUT because you don’t have a jacket on and the bright color pops. I would not have thought about Thelma from Scooby Doo but your sweater does look like hers. Looking forward to seeing your next video.
Velma
I think the other one is from Thelma and Louise
@@tomasxfranco You’re right. I had it right when I first wrote it. Then I rewrite what I had written and this time it came out with wrong name. Thank you for letting me know.
nicely done everyone ps nice outfots everyone and it lets me know esbarker is the smart one in the group cause velma always figures out high teck lazer beam holgraMS monsters space ships from a kid on up cartoons to live action movies anamations pc computers when she says jenkiees that means she figured out how the illusion is done
Let trutv know that I started watching the show because I found these on CZcams.
@TruTV Just thought you should know that these reveals are how I know about and why I started watching the show.
Seeing the force card was going to be the top card, I knew to pay attention and find the first card I could find.
I would have purposely said the Queen of Hearts.
Finally had a chance to watch all of the episodes, and I am going to be honest, I was really disappointed, I don't know why... maybe because of the editing, but I don't know.
I'm enjoying these videos where you just sit and talk much more than the full show.
Anyways I'm really happy about you guys, and I love these cold opens, keep them coming!
We hear ya man xo
Everyone that has experienced snowboarding is the EXACT same way. Very Confident before hand then Very Sore in the Rear End after.
Chris looks like Problem Child in that suit and red bow tie.
5:50 I was wondering what I did wrong because I saw the ten of spades xD
the music reminds me of "white rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane... plus all the clothing and rabbit very "alice in wonderland"
This looks like the Squamish area but with the snow still on the mountains it must've been at least a couple of months ago.
Yeah, they were in BC earlier this year.
No. 2 diamonds
And def scooby doo vibes.
Did nobody (Wes included) notice the Jefferson Airplane reference? White rabbit, the vibe of the music?
I've been watching chris and all his buds collabs for years, I'm genuinely happy for all you guys getting this opportunity to spread the love and talent. However this was pitched. My actor friend says there is always too many chiefs and never enough Indians, he says if your an Indian long enough you will be chief, but know your place to the whole of the show, the ppl will always see past this, I'm not sure if this analogy works in the magic game, but the acting game it does
Why I thought of ace of spades before you put en emphasis on it with deck shuffle.... I blame motorhead and metallica)
it was in the video thumbnail
Sure, sure....guy who still high 5's😉
Very oceans 11 music
i saw the ace of spades so criss did good and alex boyer and eric erlric and you wes barker and illusion video camera sound animal crew helpers lighting crew extc pc computer helpers
Damn, TruTV doesnt have the budget to pay for the real "white rabbit" by jefferson airplane in this intro?
Love it, but what if my card was the 9 of diamonds?
Heyyy Velma hahahha
Ok. Now I know why you hated that outfit. They did you wrong, Wes. The bunny is cute though.
Of course that rabbit's name is Snowball. Just look at it!
Wes lost his glasses.
I'm too dumb for this trick. I didn't even notice that the card tower had magically appeared out of nowhere.
Yeah, it's not really that impressive since they were standing in front of it blocking it.
@@TimothyFish Well, the point of the trick was that before they stood in front of it, there was no card tower. So the two cards were basically just acting as a curtain.
Mind you, the downside of using non-traditional curtains like that is that idiots (i.e., me) have so little attention span that they don't remember that nothing was behind the "curtain" before it was removed.
@@xxgn, it is the responsibility of the performer to draw attention to the thing that is important.
