It's NOT a "folk song". Authors of both music and lyrics are well known! These are: Prince Akaki Tsereteli (1840-1915, lyrics) and Princess Barbara (Varinka) Machavariani-Tsereteli (1874-1948, music)
[continue] The rose bowed a bit and widely opened her bud. Then she softly whispered: "You must not look for Suliko any longer." Among the fragrant roses, in the shadow, a nightingale brightly sang his song. There I asked the nightingale where he had hidden Suliko. Suddenly the little nightingale fell silent and softly touched the rose with his beak: "You have found what you are looking for", he said, "Suliko is sleeping here in eternal slumber."
One of my most loved songs and melodies! Listen to it in French sung by Nana Mouskouri! Lovely Georgian song! Alexandrov Ensemble is also wonderful! I love this version a great lot! Thanks for sharing this ''Gem''!
This song touches me, I know the Frencg version but not the original. It brought tears in my eyes, because of the dangerous situation this world lives in.

What an experiance it would be to be in this fantastic concert hall, feel the atmosphere together with those wonderfull musicians, listening to this beautiful song!
