*👍🏽God bless you respected sister, I read and heard about u when u were active about Narmada River. It's true that by the dishonesty wrong and less educated people come in power who can not think much about the betterment of the nation but about their gains. I read the news today that 210 prominent people have signed an appeal for the voters to vote for good people, u r of course right but we have been doing it for vain, bcz always those people win to whom people want to defeat. O, Lord Jesus have your mercy on my nation Amen🙏*

Like everywhere in the world in India I will guess that Money Rules as the ultimate constraint on peoples liberty?....Why is that?' Money is a number' as uber capitalist Steve Forbes i believe said that. How could it be that a shortage of numbers would come to Rule over the Worlds Choices? This is significantly because money is a useful tool/technique but it has been developed as a strategy to dominate the mostly naive people of the world. See the talks of Richard Werner for more on this topic.

@SOAS..Is there a transcript with citations and references of Arundhati's speech (the first 20 minutes or so)? The event page- now archived-just has the video... Was it just meant to be a drawing room conversation?

Arundhati Roy is too obsessed with Indian government and army, she will never be satisfied either with BJP or Congress or even Left. Criticism and Criticism alone earns them their bread and butter.

i dont understand.. why so anti-India. Yes there are a lot of things that need to be fixed, yes caste system is a problem. Yes, people live on meager earnings,, and yes,, perhaps in the international community we need a spokesperson to convey this/(or maybe it isnt necessary).. but its almost as if she hates india! No love .. what are we gonna do if we;re not united..
She herself is from a well to do higher middle class status family,, who are almost like upper caste people,. Many rickshaw pullers in UP are brahmins,, there are many banerjees, chatterjees that are honest middle class workers.. Yes, perhaps india is not so clean,,, its a tropical country. but the upper middle class english speaking people of Bharat (like A. Roy) is .0001% of India.. The real work that needs to be addressed is at the grassroots level... when I went to Kumbha mela, I realized that we people from Kolkata, pune, hyderabad,, english speaking college going people are the 0.001%. I wonder if shes ever gone beyond the main cities and comfortable homes of family and friends.. India/hinduism is like a mother, has always given us the democratic freedom to speak our minds and we turn against Her and criticize Her so bad.. disheartening... :'(
