- 60-70ft Nazare is no joke, and certainly not for the faint of heart. Only the most experienced big wave surfers take it on at this size, and the footage speaks for itself! We captured these four crazy beatings earlier on this year during the biggest & heaviest swell of the 2021/2022 season.

Ten footers make you feel like you’re hitting concrete when you wipe out! I can’t even fathom what these surfers go through.
Just the white water is 50 feet tall, 100 yards deep, and stretches for half a mile, with subsequent ones just 5-10 seconds out!!! That’s surfing death sentences!
The size of this break is insane. Couldn't imagine what looking at 30 feet of whitewash coming towards you would be like..

Not worth it… it’s not surfing, it’s just SURVIVAL.
It’s hard in all that foam - it’s mostly air and hard to keep on the surface.
Pretty exciting. And expensive. My buddy wanted to go in for it and, maybe he did !? The extra expenses of Jet Skis and travel and stuff. Plus, now it's kind of been worked out.
Someone has pioneered the use of Jet Skis.
But in the 90s, when Big Wave riding was emerging and, some of the most unlikely Loners, were probably closest to that scene !

the only explanation can be those fools editing the videos have never surfed themselves the story doesnt end when u fall off sometimes that is where it begins

Driving those skies is more dangerous than riding one of those waves, the timing is critical.
The wetbike riders are Saints on the waves. No doubt about it. But it being more dangerous than simply being on a board is a little over the top. If you had to be out their battling those waves, which would you prefer to be on - a board or a wetbike? One is certainly safer than the other.

Haha yeah, the vest kinda saves you but puts you in danger at the same time!
I get that this is a new sport in itself.. back in the day would be a shame to wear a "floating suit". LOL! Jet sky would be cool to watch, not to be pulled by it.
Everything has changed so drastically.
This ramification of surfing must be only to cheat death or something... I mean.. cold water, ugly weather, dependence on all the gear and the jet sky's driver... I try my best, but can't find anything that would give me pleasure doing that... that is another sport in itself.
I really hope those guys actually like to do that.
Adrenaline is a helluva drug
@@AuRowe You might not know that, but that " adrenaline" they talk about in those surf movies is actually because they know they can die, not the type of adrenaline we have when we want to get all the waves in a good day. Hehe
@@Alex_Correa I know what you mean. Similar phenomenon with this thing called "free solo slacklining". At least in big wave surfing they try to be as safe as possible, not purposely adding extra death risk to look cool

???? Not sure which video you watched but I don’t think there was a single situation where the surfer only had to go under one wave before being grabbed by the ski. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Humans do some ridiculous things.
Couldnt drones be used to help people in trouble in the water ? Not the small ones everybody has but Im sure something bigger could be made thats got enough traction to pull a person. At least you would risk less lives by having less jetskis aswell
Even just using the small ones for spotting so the jetskis know where to go

Risking your life for an 8 second 60mph 60 ft drop in is just not worth your life in my opinion. Surfing is supposed to be fun. You might as well like swimming in a bloodbath with seals and white sharks. Big days on average locations are enough to take the breath out of you.
