So BABYMETAL is a Japanese group and FHERO is a Thai rapper. The genre of the music BABYMETAL makes is called Japanese rock or kawaii rock. They started the group in 2010 at the ages of 11 and 10, the members back then were su-metal, moa-metal and yui-metal and now it is su-metal (26) moa-metal (24) and momo-metal (21)

BABYMETAL have been doing this for more than 13 years now, and they are still fresh and unique. Isn‘t that fascinating? I have only discovered them in 2017, and I have quickly fallen completely in love. For me it‘s the epitome of entertainment. When I watch other Metal acts now, I‘m wondering why they aren‘t dancing.
It‘s certainly not for everybody. Some metalheads can‘t cope with new movements on their home turf. Meanwhile, we are all having fun and smiling throughout the whole show.

You stumbled upon something very unique and special! Others will write text walls of info for you but I'll just hit you with a personal anecdote. I'm 47, my wife and I saw them twice in Texas last year and they are some of the most exciting emotional shows I've ever been to!
It's a lot of moving parts but the focus is the ladies, who absolutely kill it EVERY SINGLE SONG I have no idea how they have the energy but it's sooo fun!
Their messaging is usually pretty inspiring, talking about hard work, love, community and support, and forming your own path in life (they sure did that).
They make me smile laugh and feel young again!

Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
BABYMETAL are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Yui-bot, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she will stare into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duo while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daisakusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara (seen in this video): Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.

Going to second the recommendation for "BxMxC" Live at Budokan 2021 is a good one to react to.
Also going to recommend "Road of Resistance" any version will do, but most viewers will want you to react to the Live in Japan official MV, and lastly, one of their earliest songs "Iine!" (With a capital i, not a L), again, the official MV for maximum effect.😅

Yes, they are a Japanese band formed in 2010, there were 3 original members (they were only 12 and 11 years old at the time) and we have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.
This performance was filmed on the second night at the start of their 2019 tour. It is the official video so the audio is from the studio ... there is a video of this same performance with the live audio around ... it is even better.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The original third member Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until October 2018 when she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band.
Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo through to their 10th anniversary, so from 2019 through to April 2023 they were supported by any one of three dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) dancing in the third spot. In this video the third girl was Kano, it was her first show with BABYMETAL.
From about March 2020 only one Avenger, Momoko, was left. She supported Su and Moa right through until on 1st April 2023 she was revealed as the new official third member Momometal..
F Hero was their guest for this song. He is a rapper from Thailand and very well known there, he flew in to Japan specially to perform on those first two nights of the tour. They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance.
'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and it really is about a spicy green papaya fruit salad. F Hero was rapping in Thai to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle.
They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices into life will make that better too.
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre ... and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings.
They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist.
A bit later on in 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
I'm sure you will be getting a whole load of recommendations and requests so I won't make this comment any longer with a list of songs - just remember their official videos are all very good and worth seeing, but BABYMETAL are a live performance act, live is where you will always see and hear them at their best.
Don't worry about not understanding the language (they do throw in the occasional English word or phrase and they have 4 songs in English) - there are countless songs supposedly sung in English that I can't make out what is being said (or that I wish I didn't understand). If BABYMETAL want you to feel a certain way or an emotion they will do it. As Su-metal once said when she was first finding out about metal and how she should appreciate it "Don't think. Feel."

Yes, you're right. The lead singer and the dancers are all Japanese.
They fuse metal with Jpop (Not Kpop. They're Japanese, not Korean).
The rapper F.HERO is from Thailand, and his rap was all in Thai.
The lyrics in the rap section mention Som Tam (spicy Thai papaya salad) and some traditional Thai instruments were used during that part of the song.
This was the first BABYMETAL performance for supporting dancer ("avenger") Kano Fujihira.
She was 14 years old at the time.
Like BABYMETAL members Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) before her, Kano was Sakura Gakuin President during her senior year with that group.
BABYMETAL began as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin in 2010.
Kano is now a member of the four girl J-Pop group @onefive, along with the three other 2020 Sakura Gakuin graduates.
At the beginning of April, 2023, supporting dancer Momoko Okazaki became a full member of the group, known as Momometal.

Nice song to start your BM journey, isn't an unusual reaction but isn't so recommended either, regardless you're gonna surprise with this group in every song, sometimes you'll feel heavier sometimes more poppy or just different just like this one.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (not Kpop) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.

Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist.
F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad.
It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans of all generations enjoyed at the recent World Tour 2023, and we're definitely gonna see more this year.

This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun. It belongs to the Light Side disc of that album.
The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this official live MV is Kano-chan. Also cool you found this live version with live sound coz the official MV is with studio album.

The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after watching a number of them! Anyway . . . .
You’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around for a bit over thirteen years now (they started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the band in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 CZcams channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.

You've not seen it before, because Babymetal is the first and maybe only 1 who really had success with it.
Their has always been some choreography in metal performances, like the lead singer putting his foot on the monitor in a certain part of the song, etc.
But this is definitely on a completely other level.
What is great, because of the F.Hero feature, the dances also include Thai or Thai inspired moves.

Babymetal is a performance experience like no other. They have music going back to 2010 when they were literally kids. They are now in their 20's and as you can see going strong. welcome to the foxhole my friend! I'm not going to go into all the lore about this group - I'm sure there are (and will be more) comments from far more knowledgeable fans than me. I hope you enjoy discovering this band, I suggest doing a mix of their old and new stuff, it's hard to truly get a grasp on their growth and how they've progressed over the past decade. One this though, is make sure you always react to their live performances - babymetal is meant to be experienced with a live audience. BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old. All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
In the beginning Amuse showed little interest and the girls had minimal financing. They performed at strip malls and small venues borrowing clothes for shows from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack.
They quickly became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues).
Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals)
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
