Atlanta has a very smart front office. Spurs also benefit towards a good rebuild with this decision. Murray also gets to be on a competitive team which is great for a player of his caliber.

They did… hunter and Murray the perimeter defense. All Trae has to do is protect the corner 3. That’s simple. Then he (Trae) doesn’t have to help on guys attacking the paint, clint is not a bad 5… they’re much better.. Sleeper team. Plus their bench not bad. Wright defense off the bench efficiency too.. let’s not forget about John Collins if he at least plays decent defense then the hawks can most definitely compete.

I really LOVE this backcourt. I am curious about Murray's ability to play off the ball for large amounts of time.
Imo it makes more sense to have Trae off ball on certain possessions, running around screens etc.
Think Trae will be the one to do that. He's been hinting at it on social media so we'll see what happens.
Yea running off screens is the next step in Young’s offensive repraitiour can’t wait to see what that does to the offense.
They will hopefully swap the roles I mean still need trae hitting that floater.

That was a smart move by Atlanta. They certainly needed some more back-court help. I'm not a Hawks fan, but it'll be good to see the eastern conference be even more competitive next season.

This trade will help Murray and trae both develop. Trae will develop his off the ball movement; 🙏. Dejounte will just become a better all around guard having to shoot more be a floor general and setting trae up. This is both their first real opportunities to play with another elite guard. It’ll be fun

Incredible how bad of a deal this is for the Spurs. The only way this pays off is if Atlanta somehow (after you improved them a lot) losses Trae or gets really bad because of injuries for 2025 or 2027 (which is so far from now)
