    OMG, thank you for uploading this video! I've been looking for CSULB English-major videos for the longest time, and I'm glad to have stumbled upon yours. I plan on transferring to CSULB next fall as an English-Education major, and I found this video very helpful. Please make more! :)

    Hi, I'm actually thinking about committing as a transfer to CSULB as an English major with an emphasis in English Education. Do you know people within that emphasis? If so, what do they think about it? How are the professors within the English department? What are the class sizes like on average?

    • @_heyitsmay
      @_heyitsmay  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi! Sorry for the late response. I've had English classes with students doing the education emphasis before, but I'm not super close with anyone. I've had a lot of amazing professors who have been super engaging and helpful, but definitely check Rate My Professors before registering for classes because just like with any department, there are going to be some that you want to steer clear of. I'd say my English classes have ranged from 20-40 people. Hope this helps! :)

    Hello! Thanks for the video! I’m still deciding which college I go to (I got accepted from the waitlist) Why did you change from linguistics? I want to be an interpreter so I really want to be in linguistics major wherever I go. I’d like to hear your opinion!!

    • @_heyitsmay
      @_heyitsmay  Před 4 lety

      Hi again! I decided to change from Linguistics because I realized that I was more passionate about Creative Writing and wanted to make that my major instead. It had nothing to do with the program, and I ended up adding a minor in Linguistics later on. I think a major in Linguistics would be great if you wanted to be a translator! We also have a minor in Translation Studies, which is within the RGRLL (Romance, German, and Russian Languages and Literatures) program in the College of Liberal Arts. Here is a link to more information on that: www.cla.csulb.edu/departments/rgrll/become-a-part-of-the-new-minor-in-translation-studies-at-csulb/

    You’re so helpful! I enjoy all of your videos. I cannot decide between LB or Sonoma state, I have to choose by May 1st and I’m also a creative writing major. Would you recommend Long Beach, even if I had to live off campus? Do you feel isolated if you’re off campus at a commuter school, how has your experience been? I have guaranteed on campus housing at Sonoma, but haven’t heard from Long Beach about my dorm app yet. I feel like on campus is crucial but I’m not sure.

      Stephen Bridges Hi! Living off campus can definitely feel a bit isolating at times, and it’s hard for me to say because I had lived in the dorms for two years, so I already had friends. There are always ways to get involved on camps though, like clubs, sports teams, etc and you will meet people in your classes! I hope this helps. Good luck with your decision!
