@@karljoachimgoll I remember that day as none of us knew what was about to happen re Covid which was just about to break. The club never recovered from the Covid closure, and no longer exists, sadly. Also, it is funny to watch the bit at the end with Jim trying to fire at my shot bowl, but taking his own out instead. He thought it was hilarious too and was such a pleasure to play against. He no longer plays sadly, as a result of the club closing down. But good memories. 👍
Hi Alec. It looks as if terminology varies from areà to area. When I used to play in Lincolnshire, What you describe as a roll-up was referred to as a drive. The roll-up was simply the hiring of a rink, often by a single player, for a practice session, rather like with you and your two friends on that ditch-side rink.
Yes, The terminology can be quite different. I think most people in this area use the term roll-up for any game that is of a casual nature, where there is no need to book a slot. When a game is more organised, where names are required beforehand, it is then often called a drive. Although I think it can even vary from club to club. 😬

Agree, he said afterwards that he must work on that shot. :) It does need practising, many do have trouble with a shot like that.
I was always told if it don’t work with yo first two. Try the other hand
Gone down in history, thinking the season was quite normal.
Hopefully normal season next year. Or at least near to normal.
