For those looking to release the third pin, locks must be triggered at the same time to release all three pins

You didn’t show how to release the third pin that has zero access 🤷‍♂️

Out of all the videos I`ve watched about pulling steering wheel airbags, nobody ever mentions that if you are replacing a deployed SW Airbag, 99% of the time, the connectors are burned, and will have to be replaced. Sometimes, you can get replacement connectors that have to be spliced into the original, but most of the time the whole clockspring will have to be replaced, or in the case of this Equinox, the connectors are part of the SW harness, so the SW will have to be replaced.

That's true. I have encountered melted plugs on the backside. Multiple elements need to be replaced if you are replacing one that is deployed. The SRS module for example, in most cases needs replaced also. If you're replacing your steering wheel or some other part of the column, the airbag Removal is much smoother.

@@CrowtownAuto Yes, GM modules will reset once all the airbag components are installed and it runs a test to make sure the system is working correctly, but most manufacturers will set a crash data code that can`t be reset with a scan tool. I usually send them out to be reset, or they will have to be replaced.also, any locked seatbelts or pretensioners will have to be replaced or rebuilt.
