Something that also should have been noted - this district was redistricted recently. So it contains more of Westchester, the wealthier area where Latimer had served as as a county representative. It also contained less of the Bronx, where Bowman is extremely popular. The candidate with the most money wins over 90% of the time. And, in this case, AI PAC spent more on this race than any other, far more than Bowman. It was the most expensive Congressional race ever. So it's disingenuous to say the voters rejected him without giving the full context. They could make almost anyone lose with that amount of money. Also, Bowman's district was redistricted in a way that made it harder for him to win, which the media conveniently fails to mention.

I am still pro Isreal at this point, but this really does hurt my view of Isreal as a country. Already I had reservations about the amount of historical spying Isreal has been caught doing, but add election interference like this and comments about the US withholding weapons, true or not, it makes them seem far less friendly that before the war. I don't think the Palestinian militant forces they are fighting are in any way "good" but the conflict feels now more to me a war in populated areas with collateral damage being humans in the way of 2 sides that want a war and are "ok" with the deaths to fuel their own support.

War is awful. It always has been. We just haven't seen it up close so much. No one should suffer. But Hamas broke the ceasefire on Oct 7. And 70% of Palestinians approved. Unfortunately, Israel hasn't invented force fields for each Israeli, or a love/friendliness potion to pour in the water for Gaza and the West Bank, and Hamas hasn't returned the hostages or surrendered, and no one else has come up with another strategy that leaves Gaza alone but also protects Israelis, so soldiers have to try to rescue hostages, dismantle 400+ miles of tunnels, destroy weapons scattered in civilian areas, eliminate fighters and leaders, all while Hamas puts Gazans in the way and also has command centers in civilian areas. A difficult task. To have to care more about Gazans than Hamas its leaders do. One that John Spencer an urban war expert says Israel is doing as carefully as it can. Israelis don't want to be constantly picked off by Hamas or anyone else. Hamas says it will massacre again. I believe them. I also believe Palestinians when they say "From the River to the Sea". Too bad much of the world seems to be deaf.

You are clearly biased... History and the conflict didn't start on Oct 7 it's been going on for decades... The occupation ,apartheid, ethnic cleansing is the root of the problem and until there is a Palestinian state and freedom the conflict will continue... Problem is Israel is controlled by a radical Zionist faction hell bent on having Jewish majority throughout all of historical Palestine... Netanyahu and others from the far right have used the term from the river to the sea ... Jewish majority and control from the river to the sea.... That's why the state of Israel is using military occupation and apartheid in the West Bank and controlling Gaza ... To force the Palestinian population out

Bowman doesn't represent the views of the majority of his district. He is out of touch with his constituency. One thing that unites us all is that we support necessary infrastructure. He voted against that bipartisan infrastructure bill. We need investments in water infrastructure. Many homes have flooded in the past years. As a result, our insurance rates have gone up. This alone is unacceptable...

That's a lie and you know it. Most people support his progressive views. The problem is that you've been deceived by the propaganda coming from AIPAC. Bowman is the leader we need and not the bought sleazeball Latimer. My generation is fully behind Bowman and your view only helps solidify this fact. Israel's crimes can never be forgiven or forgotten any who support their genocide of the Palestinians and illegal land thefts in the West Bank is no ally to the Progressive cause. Only racists support an apartheid regime like Israel and I hope one day you realize how disgusting Latimer's candidacy is. History will not look kindly at those who support bigots or are willing to sell their souls for power.

This is just a plain ignorant statement. If you don't understand how he and the others involved in this action were trying to use their leverage to get more done, then you really need to read up on it. The BIF passed - Bowman's act was symbolic in the end as there was more that needed to be accomplished to move our country forward than just infrastructure spending. The BIF was bundled with other legislation that was important. When the package was unbundled, he voted against it.

This conversation was disgusting. Bowman has said some terrible things about Jews in his district. Bowman has gone out of his way to divide his own district which is the last thing a politician should do. He was also recently begging a rabbi for a picture to show that "he likes Jews". Open mouth, insert foot. Good riddance.

The very fact nothing has been done about any of it by the security state in usa suggests to me unfortunately the usa security state and civil service are also post modernist cultural Marxists who actively support and are sligmed with islamists by indoctrination and are fine with it. In fact I am not 100% confident thete wasn't a neo Marxist elitest coup in the usa already. Started decades ago with the foundations set under 2 terms of Obama and executed finally in 2020. Based loosely on how Erdoğan and his party took over turkey for the brotherhood. I am waiting foe early 2025 if my suspicions are correct to see if there was a rich person's elitest neo Marxist coup.
