Alhamdulillah for being a Muslim. Islam is enough for us. At the point when one feels his or her lowest, Dhikr will miraculously cure you of everything, just trust in Allah and commit to Dhikr and you can only feel the best version of yourself In Shaa Allah. May Allah help the Muslim Ummah, aamen.

Ameen! This is a beautiful reminder for all of us, especially those of us who battle worry and sadness/depression/grief/guilt/shame; laziness and incapacity; fear of poverty and fear in general; and being overcome by debt and subjected to oppressors/oppressive rule.

SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah waAllahu Akbar ✨ I swear that for the past couple of days, I have been so worried about some things happening in my life that I got almost entirely paralyzed and unproductive. My thoughts affected my Salah, my duaas, and my chores as a wife and a mother.
I felt like I was falling into depression, but while squeezing the last bit of energy going about my day, I kept asking Allah for anything to help me.
Today's khutbah at our local mosque solved one of my problems and gave me the strength to face it, and now, a couple of hours later, listening to this profound sermon solved all the rest.
TabarakAllah dear Shaikh, JazakAllah Khair 🤲

Assalamu alaykom wa rahma'tullah wa barakatuh, our Prophet [saw] had a year of sadness, Prophet Yaqub [as] had years of sadness, but they both relied and trusted in our Rabb, I think it means do not despair, don't give up, keep trusting in Allah, keep expecting the best from Allah, and know this is the dunya - by nature a test. We need to be faithful to Allah subhana wa t'ala.

Wa 3aleykoum assalam I have a question, how can a Muslim have a year of sadness if we do everything to get rid of it, cause by praying, reading quran etc... calm our hearts, so how? Barak Allah oufik

As a healthcare professional with a masters degree my clinical viewpoint, Ive mixed feelings about the interpretation of the research data. The increase use of antidepressants could be due to improved access.
The high suicide numbers couls be ease of data collection of in the more developed countries.
The early part of of this khubah also had alot of sweeping statements about not being sad. Sadness and depression are not the same.
The 2nd part of the khutbah is better in terms of giving practical hadith and tips.

I am also a healthcare professional and I get what you are saying but have you generally seen the western population vs people living in Africa or Asia? When I visit Asia and Africa people are so optimistic and have much bigger problems and when I return to New York I feel people are anxious, depressed, sad for relatively minor troubles. When I went to Mecca I felt ashamed to ask for ease of my troubles when I saw the destitute people around me who stayed in the mosques and laid on the floors between salahs while I went to a 5 star hotel with air conditioning. So yes although sweeping statements I have seen it with my own eyes the stark difference in outlooks and usually related to religiosity. But I get what you are saying I just agree with him from my personal experience.

And when I got the vaccine I got hand and feet numbness and every single doctor I spoke to said go on antidepressants you are depressed and it’s a mind thing. Never felt so frustrated and unheard. I did not get the second dose and got another brand to keep my job and the symptoms eventually went away 8 months later. Turns out now reports are coming out of people having the same symptoms as me but during the pandemic it was all swept under for control/compliance. So yes there is a huge push to get people on antidepressants for whatever reason.

Subahanallah this is need more attention since people are going insane in liberal era today's.
Muslim man and woman can get caught in the vortex of it if their Iman is weak and dont know how to response their surrounding.
It's like we need a survival books for the sake of this liberal waves. People afraid that being rejected from their society and look down upon if they follow their religion and at the same time can build a gap for people that dont know about Islam aswell looking at muslim with their liberal lense and think muslim is like to be alone and avoiding the society etc. they don't know that what they doing is trying to compromise the religion of us that. the gap need to be closed in this matter and build the iman in this liberal waves.
