  • Meet the largest diamonds in the world. These expensive gemstones will dazzle you, literally, with their enormous brightness.
    -Cullinan diamond
This is one of the world’s most famous diamonds, found in 1905 in Superintendent Sir Thomas Cullinan’s mine in South Africa, which carries the name of the founder.
    -Excelsior Diamond
This stone was discovered June 30, 1893 by an African man in the Jagersfontein mine.
    -Star of Sierra Leone
It was discovered February 14, 1972 in Sierra Leone, the fourth diamond with the highest gem quality and one of the alluvial mining diamonds ever found.
    -Lesedi La Rona
The name of this diamond means "Our Light" in the Bantu language of the Tswana of Botswana of Africa. It has a weight of 1109 carats, considered type IIA, which means it is much more valuable for its color and purity.
    -Sergio
Crowning this top, you’ll find this precious black carbon stone of meteorological origin. It’s a rare gem discovered in 1895 in Brazil by Sérgio Borges de Carvalho, and it was named after him.
    -Lesotho Legend
This diamond was discovered in January 2018 at the Letseng mine, south of Lesotho, weighing a total of 910 carats.
    -The Incomparable diamond
This amber-colored gem was discovered in 1980 amongst garbage near a Mbuji Mayi mine in ancient Zaire, by a girl named Julie.
    -The Constellation Diamond
This crystalline stone was discovered and extracted in November 2015 at a Botswana mine in Africa, by the Canadian Lucara Diamond.
    -Millennium Star
This gem was discovered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1990, but it was not until 1999 that it was publicly disclosed by the pioneer jewelry company De Beers.
    -Woyie River Diamond
Its name comes from the Woyie River, eastern Sierra Leone, where it was found in 1945. Its gross weight is 770 carats and it’s the third largest diamond discovered in Africa.

    • @kiarashriazi5124
      @kiarashriazi5124 Před 3 lety

@Mr Stonks I agree. I have never found the size of Kohinoor in the literature from when it was uncut. tell me please if you know. Probably nobody knows since it had been in India for hundreds of years. The original size cut was said to be around 200 carats when taken to England before they recut it to 105 carats, the current size. It was for sure a lot bigger uncut. These diamonds that were presented in this video were all from 700 carats or above and based on the uncut size. That is the reason Kohinoor was not among them. The value of Kohinoor is beyond just a large diamond.

Quick story. Our mother left myself and younger brother with our grandparents aged 3 and 1. We never saw her or my father again. Grandparents moved to Australia and brought us with them from England. They both ended up dying, my brother was in a car accident that left him a quadriplegic. He didnt last long. Got a payout of about 2.5 million. Long story short. We have no family here. When I applied for executor (he had no Will)
The courts wrote back and asked where’s the mother and father. Found out my father died years before. Then found mother living back in England. The bitch came and was entitled to everything. She took the lot. As his money was frozen I payed for funeral etc. she wouldn’t even give me the 30k I paid for that.

Well, I guess. I'd sell it. I'd like to own it but only because of the money it would bring me. Other than that they're just geologically interesting and very pretty rocks.
