- Sorry for the crappy mixing. Tesseract is one of my favourite bands. They are amazing musicians and I could go on and on about how wonderfully complex and beautiful their music is.
I had the opportunity for my final recital to perform anything I wished, so I spent days transcribing these two tunes in order to give to my band. This stuff is not easy and my whole band, including my choir, were champs about it and worked very hard to help me pull this off.
ITS NOT PERFECT, but I hope you all enjoy and appreciate the amount of work these lovely people put into this performance!

it is what it is tbh, if you're an electric guitar player, and don't know shit about metal, you won't get that far with your ears/physical skill

Guitar lack a LOT of gain and tone, apart from that, the playing is VERY good and the singing and the choir speak for themselves, kudos to the drummer for learning this odd patterns too, absolutely amazing
I just wanna crank the highs on that guitar amp so bad, it's killing me... the playing is great but it sounds so subdued
Jon Davis seriously get the mids and highs up where they need to be.
Probably should add some distortion while you're at it too.
Shame to see so many people complaining about the "tone". It's a feat in itself to transcribe this for other singers and instruments, and everyone performed beautifully.

Tesseract should tour with a band this big (Although that would be expensive)! With an actual chorus, and strings, and keys and all of that. You guys CRUSHED it!

Listened to your performance with a great joy! Being a tesseract’s fan, having seen them 3 times live (with 3 different singers :-) I am always blown away when someone does a cover. Their music is quite complex and you can hear it clearer when someone else is trying to play it. Your performance had a good energy, lead singer is super talented and choir does a great job. I could hear some minor difficulties musically at times, clearly at the end but it just proves how brilliant and challenging the compositions are.
This gave me goose bumps, truly awesome!

This is Fantastic!!! As a drummer for the last 27yrs of my life (jazz band, death metal, etc), who is a huge Tesseract fan, watching this was awesome. To 1, attempt a Tesseract cover and then, 2...to transcribe it for all those people up on stage, HUGE PROPS!! Has the Tesseract crew seen this yet? If not, I would imagine they would be equally impressed! Nicely Done!
Holy Jesus this is so epic and a musical masterpiece. From the composition, to the musicality to the harmonies, it is an unbelieveable piece of work. Mad respect. Oh and the vocals are unreal!

You guys did an absolutely amazing job! Everyone, and having a chorus, with and orchestra instruments REALLY sealed the deal! No, its not perfect, but its authentic and that's what makes it all the more better. The singer, at one point literally brought tears to my eyes, she nailed it so good. The fact that you actually transcribed these 2 songs, is no small feat either. Everyone should be very proud of themselves.

Great performance! I would imagine these are no easy songs to recreate live. Great job by you and all your mates. I ran into this trying to see if any other material from their Errai EP had been put up and I found this gem. Really enjoyed it!

The guitars had a bit of trouble, but admittedly it would be damn near impossible to properly recreate Tesseract's sound like that.
Otherwise, extremely impressive. Especially the vocal harmonies.

If you have a decent guitar and Fractal AXE FX II, then it is obtainable for guitars - Acle Kahney's studio is selling the Axe patches with the presets used on Polaris. Yeah, it is not the same sound as on Altered State, but it is a good piece of TesseracT's sound.
I think Acle said in an interview that he used the exact same main rhythm tone setting for Altered State as he did for Polaris, but obviously the overall mix of the two records is different.
You can actually get really close using a regular amp, such as the 5150 or the VK100, combined with some onboard EQ:ing and coil split. Coil split and good technique is the most important factors tbh.

I prefer the cleaner gats in this production. Sounds Mars Volta - ish.

I've been OBSESSED with this song for a while because of how beautiful those vocals melodies are. The djent is an added bonus, lol. You all did an amazing job! Also, just noticed the 2nd verse in this cover version sounds a bit like TOOL in the beginning.

I salute you. Seeing that you love Tesseract so much that you went through the trouble of transcribing these 2 intricate songs for your band and choir -- that's so inspiring.
Not sure if you're also into Skyharbor, but when their album "Guiding Lights" came out (Dan sang on it), I was so crazy for the title track and tried so hard to perform it in my music class. But oh well, I couldn't.
