Your starter is heat soaked! I had the same issue! Longtube headers are right by it! The stock heat shield won't provide enough protection! Get the larger ground wire from Lethal Garage and change your starter! Also get a heatshield from Summit or Jegs! I have no more issues!

That actually makes sense! I know the heat shield was a pain in the a** to put on. I remember that. But I am ordering a new starter, and ill def order what you suggested so this doesn't happen again. Thanks !

just put a tilton st 246 on my 2010 ss. way stiffer than stock. going put ram height adjuster on soon to help.
From my understanding that a lot/ most whichever have that same problem with the starter. I have a good friend who works at a GM dealership and he even asked me about if my starter acted weird. Idk what the best fix is for it but if you find out please let us know. 1 time I start it and it sounds like yours did and the next it will fire right off.
I def think it's the starter. I stopped at gas station today to grab gas... and it almost didn't start. But when I fired it up to leave for work, no issued at all. Bizarre.

What exhaust setup are you using? Is your car cammed? I love the deep exhaust tone.
Magnaflow exhaust, yes it has a comp cam. It is such a nasty pur, my favorite part of the maro by far.
I just had a mcloud rst twin disc clutch installed last week. Feels nearly stock which i’m happy with. I did notice a slight difference getting off of first gear from a complete stop, my natural instinct is to want to give it more gas. My only complaint right now is the smell after getting off 1st gear. I didn’t reach the 500 mile break in period yet lol
